The Heavenly Sword Sect disciples looked on at the elated An Lin with complex emotions running through their hearts.
It appeared they had done nothing but act as his stunned audience again…
“I have to admit, An Lin really is an exceptional sword immortal.” Xue Shan’s eyes rippled as she looked at An Lin.
An Lin had displayed to his overwhelming strength as a sword immortal to them over and over again, dealing psychological blows to the hearts of the Heavenly Sword Sect disciples.
Zhao Siming heaved a faint sigh. “Forget about that. Let’s continue in our search for the ancient sword. The longer we take to find it, the more detrimental it will be for us.”
Everyone nodded upon hearing this.
“Time to go home, Da Bai,” An Lin said with a joyful expression.
“Are you leaving now, Sword Immortal An Lin?” Sun Yuluo was reluctant to part with An Lin.
He had to continue looking for the lost ancient sword from his sect.
If An Lin decided to leave now, then he would have to part with his idol.
“I’ve completed the objective of my trip, so I have to go now.” An Lin waved a hand. “Cultivate hard, Little Sun!”
Sun Yuluo slapped his chest with battle intent burning in his eyes, and he nodded with excitement on his face. “Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to live up to your expectations!”
An Lin nodded with a forced smile. Who the hell has expectations for you? You’re a coward who’s scared of ghosts! How are you going to be a good sword immortal in the future!?
Xue Shan pulled out her disc before speaking in a quiet voice, “Now that the mountain ghost has been eliminated, the location with the most yin energy now lies in that direction.”
She extended a slim finger to point in a certain direction.
However, before they even had a chance to set off.
An Lin’s Evil-Slaying Sword suddenly began to tremor.
Whoosh!
The Evil-Slaying Sword suddenly unsheathed itself before flying toward a certain direction.
“What the f*ck?!” An Lin’s expression shifted.
He faltered for a full second before coming to his senses.
Where the hell was his Evil-Slaying Sword going?!
“Da Bai, go!”
“Don’t worry, Big Brother An, I’ll chase down Little Xie for you! Woof!”
“Wait for me, Sword Immortal An Lin!”
Thus, An Lin, Da Bai, and Sun Yuluo began to fly in the same direction.
The direction they were flying toward was the exact same direction Xue Shan had pointed toward.
Xue Shan bit down on her lower lip as tears welled up in her eyes. “Why? Why are we following them again?”
Zhao Siming’s lips twitched, and he struggled with his internal conflict for a few seconds before making a decision. “Time is of the essence. Let’s hurry up and follow them!”
The six Heavenly Sword Sect disciples began to trail along behind An Lin again.
An Lin chased the Evil-Slaying Sword for several dozen kilometers, but the Evil-Slaying Sword was like a willful little girl running away from home, diving headfirst into the mountain ranges without turning back.
Boom!
The inky-black blade of the sword stabbed into the gate of a red-brick temple.
“Little Xie, what are you doing coming to a place like this?” An Lin flew over to her with a perplexed expression.
Da Bai was panting heavily from overexertion after such an intense chase, during which he was forced to use a mystic technique in order to enhance his speed. “Little Xie, are you trying to exhaust me to death? Woof!”
Little Xie didn’t say anything. She seemed to be preparing for something.
An Lin turned toward the temple to find that it was already extremely dilapidated. The two pillars out front weren’t constructed from red bricks, but it was actually most constructed from wood, which was showing signs of rotting away.
“Is there something in this temple?” An Lin murmured as he made his way into it.
“Don’t worry, Sword Immortal An Lin! Ghosts aren’t real!” Sun Yuluo hurried to An Lin’s side and drew his sword while trembling as he swallowed with a tense expression.

Those words were not to comfort An Lin, but instead to comfort himself.
The two of them made their way into the temple, upon which they were struck by the smell of decomposition.
Sun Yuluo’s entire body trembled as he surveyed his surroundings with a tense expression.
All of a sudden, the oil lamps and candles on either side suddenly lit up, all of which was an eerie green!
“Ah…!” Sun Yuluo screamed and his entire body jumped up.
An Lin pressed a hand to Sun Yuluo’s shoulder with an exasperated expression. “Settle the f*ck down! You’re making everyone else nervous as well!”
“S… sorry… Ah…!”
Sun Yuluo had only just apologized when he suddenly screamed again.
His scream was too abrupt this time, and even An Lin shuddered with fright before flaring up with rage. “What the f*ck is wrong with you?!”
Sun Yuluo pointed ahead as he spoke in a trembling voice, “Look at the statue of the god being worshipped. Does it seem familiar to you?”
An Lin turned to look in the direction he was pointing in to discover that it was a little boy with fine and delicate features! This was indeed a familiar sight. This was the same little boy who had scared them on that street in the city they had been in!
Just as An Lin was feeling a little shocked, a strange smile appeared on the little boy’s face as his mouth opened…
A tongue instantly extended and shot forth before wrapping itself around Sun Yuluo’s neck like a spirit snake.
“Ah…!
“Help me!”
Sun Yuluo’s desperate cry for help erupted again.
An Lin was struck by a sense of deja vu.
The only difference was that this time, Sun Yuluo was completely unprepared, and he almost fainted from the spontaneous fright he received.
“Heehee… Hehehe…”
Tender yet eerie laughter sounded.
The little boy was clearly having a lot of fun.
“No wonder it looks like that little boy, it IS that little boy!” An Lin exclaimed.
No wonder the Evil-Slaying Sword would fly here all of a sudden, had it detected the little boy’s presence?
Sure enough, the statue slowly transformed to become the little boy in linen garments again.
His agile, slippery tongue was still tightly wound around Sun Yuluo’s neck.
Sun Yuluo was struggling to breathe again as he kicked his legs, which were hanging in mid-air. The tongue around his neck was bound so tight that he wasn’t even able to utter a single word.
That was a good thing for An Lin.
“Release my underling at once!” An Lin roared as he pulled out his Ancient Sea Immortal Sword.
The Evil-Slaying Sword was still elsewhere, so he could only use this intermediate-rank immortal sword for now.
Destructive Golden Void Lightning revolved around the Ancient Sea Immortal Sword, lighting up the entire temple with a scintillating golden light.
An Lin’s sword was imbued with the destructive purification power of lightning, and it sliced down with unstoppable force toward the little boy’s tongue.
Splat!
The little boy’s tongue was severed once again.
The little boy howled with pain, and he immediately fled at extreme speed from the temple, knowing that he was no match for An Lin.
That’s right, he had unleashed his signature escape movement technique again!
Even An Lin was unable to chase him down at his speed.
However, it was also at this moment that a loud rumble erupted between heaven and earth.
The Evil-Slaying Sword flew into the sky, creating a dense net with its inky-black sword intent, enshrouding the entire temple and sealing off all avenues of escape for the little boy!
Little Xie made her way over to the little boy with an innocent smile on her round face as she spoke in a joyful voice, “You won’t be able to get away now…”
Her expression suddenly turned into a domineering one. “You can only belong to me!”
An Lin had only just made it out of the temple, and he immediately drew a sharp intake of breath upon seeing this. “My God! My Little Xie is recruiting members for her harem already?!”
