An Lin had always thought that Bai Ling was an extremely important figure in the Purple Star Civilization.
Now, Bai Ling had shattered his speculation with one sentence.
An Lin was even more astonished and curious about who Bai Ling was now. “You… you’re not even a Purple Star citizen? Who are you then?”
Bai Ling smiled. “You guessed one thing right. I am a living being that the Purple Star Civilization has striven to protect at all costs. My brain capacity is over a hundred million times that of a normal, highly intelligent being. I possess all of the knowledge of the Purple Star Civilization, and I am their one hope to pass on everything.
“Unfortunately, in order to protect myself, much of the knowledge inside my brain is still sealed away and needs to be unlocked slowly…”
An Lin was a little entranced by this story. This Big Sister Bai really was no ordinary being!
“The backlash from the Heavenly Dao really has wiped out the entire Purple Star Civilization. It’s just as you say, the power of the Heavenly Dao wouldn’t leave any Purple Star survivors. However, I’m not a Purple Star citizen. I am a new human created by the Purple Star Civilization, the most perfect human being that the Purple Star Civilization was capable of creating,” Bai Ling continued.
An Lin shot an incredulous glance at Bai Ling. “You’re the most perfect human being? You look kind and gentle on the outside, but you’re actually really cruel and sadistic on the inside! How can someone who takes pleasure in torturing her disciples in shockingly inhumane trials be the perfect human being?”
“Hehe.” A cold chuckle sounded.
An Lin felt a cold sensation on his neck, and he looked down to discover a particle sword resting on his neck.
Bai Ling’s eyes narrowed with a smile. “I’ll give you one chance to rephrase your words.”
An Lin shuddered.
Bai Ling’s smile was very enticing, but he felt like he was being scrutinized by a Death God! If he rephrased himself and his words were still not to her liking, he had no doubt that the particle sword would fall without any hesitation nor mercy!
He immediately amended his words as he said, “Big Sister Bai is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Furthermore, she’s so thoughtful, intelligent, and completely flawless! It would be nothing short of a travesty if you weren’t the most perfect human being!
“In my eyes, you are the epitome of perfection!”
An Lin spoke in an extremely convincing voice.
Bai Ling finally put away her particle sword upon hearing this, and she looked at him with a dainty smile.
An Lin swallowed before prompting in a feeble voice, “Please continue.”
Women had no sense of reason when they were angry. If he didn’t concede now, he would most definitely have a battle on his hands.
For the sake of the peace and prosperity of the sect, as well as the survival of the human race, An Lin had no choice but to concede and sacrifice his integrity for the greater good.
“I am an artificial living being with no genetic or bloodline connection with any of the Purple Star citizens, which was why I was able to escape from the Heavenly Dao’s backlash. I possess all of the fundamental aspects of any living being, including a body and even a soul, as well as my own unique dao.”
Bai Ling continued, “If I had to state some differences between myself and other living beings, I can only say that I’m a little smarter, have a slightly better personality, am slightly more beautiful, and possess slightly superior aptitude…”
An Lin’s face convulsed upon hearing this.
He thought for a moment before deciding to nod in agreement.
“You’re right!”
He wore a smile on his face, but he was grumbling in his heart.
“I am the sole remnant of the Purple Star Civilization, and I have my own mission,” Bai Ling spoke in a slow voice.
“Mission? You mean to bring back the Purple Star Civilization?” An Lin asked.
“All of the Purple Star citizens are already dead. I’m just a fake Purple Star citizen, what can I do to bring back the Purple Star Civilization?” A resigned smile appeared on Bai Ling’s face.

The continuation of a civilization consisted not just of passing on knowledge and spirit, the bloodline had to be passed down as well. The entire bloodline had gone into extinction, so there was no way to bring back the civilization.
“My mission is to rectify the mistake made by the Purple Star Civilization.” Bai Ling raised her head to look up into the sky. “I’m going to mend the heavens!”
An Lin almost fell off his chair.
“Hah? What did you say?”
“I said… I, Bai Ling, am going to mend the heavens!”
Bai Ling spoke in a voice filled with firm conviction.
An Lin heard what she was saying the first time, but he found this very hard to believe. Pretty much every human in this world had gone down the path of crushing the heavens, but Bai Ling was choosing this path instead?
“My divine dao is not the spatial divine dao, nor the data calculation divine dao. Instead, it is the dao of an entire civilization. The Purple Star Civilization bestowed their spark upon me, and it can continue to live on in a special way.
“My dao is known as the Purple Star dao. I can still feel the remorse and guilt of the entire Purple Star Civilization in its final moments. Everyone sobbed like a powerless, despairing child, but they couldn’t go back in time to change anything…
“I heard their final wishes in their dying moments. All they wanted was to rectify their past mistake. A child who has done something wrong would always hope to seek forgiveness from an adult. The Purple Star Civilization was like a child who had accidentally stabbed an adult. They were gripped by horror and remorse, clasping their hands frantically over the stab wound they had inflicted, apologizing over and over again in the hope that the adult they had stabbed would forgive them…”
Bai Ling chuckled. “How foolish and pitiful.”
This was the first time An Lin had heard Bai Ling mock the Purple Star Civilization, and she was doing it in such a blunt and merciless manner. Did she really carry the spark of the Purple Star Civilization with her?
“So, you’re planning to join the Heaven Mending Sect?” An Lin was a little concerned.
Bai Ling immediately shook her head. “There’s no need for that. I can achieve my objective through my own research… During all these years, I’ve actually researched many things and made extensive preparations…”
She looked at An Lin and wanted to say something before deciding against it.
An Lin heaved a sigh of relief. “Alright. I support you as long as you can save the human race.”
A vibrant smile appeared on Bai Ling’s face. “Alright, Sect Leader.”
There was one thing she didn’t tell him.
She only had the courage to embark on this journey to mend the heavens as An Lin had bestowed that courage upon her over a hundred years ago in that dark and lonely research institute.
An Lin did not ask any more questions.
He knew who Bai Ling was, and he knew her objective. The rest was not important. For example, if he were to ask her how she planned to mend the heavens, she would just throw out a bunch of theories at him, none of which he would be able to understand anyway!
Thus concluded Big Sister Bai’s interview.
An Lin began to interview his little fairy.
“Little Na, Little Na, how did you attain such powerful heaven crushing true intent? You didn’t really experiment on yourself in the Divine Mirror World, did you?” An Lin was quite curious.
A smug expression appeared on Tina’s face. “I sure did! I am the heavens in the Divine Mirror World, so I used my omnipotence in the Divine Mirror World to figure out a way to crush the heavens and kill myself. I have to say, I really am a genius! I really did manage to kill myself!”
An Lin almost threw up a mouthful of blood. “Genius my f*cking a*s! How is committing suicide something to be proud of? Are you alright now?”
“I’m fine now. I was able to resurrect myself in the Divine Mirror World,” Tina replied with a comforting smile.
Even though Tina had offered him reassurance, An Lin still felt like his little fairy was straying down a wrong path, and he gave her a lecture to rectify her outlook on life.
Time flew by.
Two days passed by in the blink of an eye.
It was finally time for the match between Xu Xiaolan and her phoenix against the Ancient Dragon Empress!
