Chapter 1520: The Spirit Lake Realm

When An Lin reunited with Xu Xiaolan again, Zhu Xuze and Situ Feng had mostly recovered from their injuries.

Xu Xiaolan told him that the Heavenly Human Tribe United Army in Qiu Guang City had been completely annihilated.

An Lin was quite elated to hear this.

The Heavenly Human Tribe had slaughtered so many of their Kingdom of the Nine States brethren, and they deserved every bit of this.

“We still can’t let down our guard here at the southern front. Emperor Chang Sheng will remain here while the Four Nine Immortal Sect’s extermination team and I will continue further south,” the Celestial Thearch announced.

Emperor Chang Sheng nodded before setting up defenses around Nan Chao City.

The Celestial Thearch turned to look at An Lin. “I don’t think the extermination team is a name that’s intimidating enough. Should we call it the heaven obliterating team? Or the god-slaying team?”

An Lin shook his head before speaking in a meaningful and heartfelt voice, “Don’t make it sound so ostentatious. We’re just ordinary cultivators, so what’s the point of having such a name? It’s not good to flex too much.”

The Celestial Thearch: “…”

He could accept it if anyone else in this world told him that flexing was not good, but when those words came out of serial flexer An Lin’s mouth, he was struck by the urge to slap him across the face!

At this moment, Emperor Chang Sheng’s voice transmission talisman lit up again.

This was an urgent report from the eastern front of the Kingdom of the Nine States. A large scale battle had also erupted there in which the Heavenly Human Tribe army had mobilized all of their forces. The Kingdom of the Nine States United Army couldn’t hold on for much longer and was requesting for reinforcements.

Everyone fell silent upon hearing this.

“Could it be that the escaped Void Spirit Tribe mighty figure at the Return to Void Pinnacle Stage disclosed our operation to the Heavenly Human Tribe?” Emperor Chang Sheng speculated.

This seemed too fishy to be a coincidence.

“I don’t think that’s the case,” An Lin spoke with a firm expression.

Dead people couldn’t talk, and there was no way a paltry Return to Void Stage mighty figure could escape the Kingdom of the Nine States.

“Perhaps it was Emperor Yi Deng. Or perhaps the Heavenly Human Tribe have already sensed that something’s wrong, so they’re trying to end this war as soon as possible,” Xu Xiaolan speculated.

This speculation made more sense.

The question now was who should continue further south and who should go reinforce the eastern front?

If they didn’t continue south now, they would lose a golden opportunity to destroy the entire Heavenly Human Tribe army on the southern front as the Heavenly Human Tribe would have a chance to recuperate. However, if they forged on ahead recklessly and allowed the eastern front to fall, countless living beings would be slain as a result…

“I’ll go with the Grand Elder while you guys forge on ahead, how about that?” Zhu Xuze suddenly volunteered.

An Lin faltered slightly before nodding with a smile. “Sounds good to me.”

Even though this would weaken their extermination team a little, they still stood a very good chance. Furthermore, they still had some trump cards.

Two Dao Integration Stage super mighty figures and a dozen or so Return to Void Stage mighty figures should be ample reinforcements…

All of a sudden, Emperor Chang Sheng’s voice transmission talisman lit up once again.

This time, it was bad news from the northern front. The Heavenly Human Tribe army there discovered that something was amiss, and after retreating for some distance, they suddenly doubled back for another attack! Even with the inclusion of the snow maidens and the Great Empress, the northern front was in a dire situation!

An Lin: “…”

“Let me go. The Starfire Battleship is very proficient in defense during large scale battles, so I should be able to hold on until all of you get back,” Liu Qianhuan volunteered this time.

Thus, the Starfire Battleship also departed from the extermination team.

Everyone immediately set off at once.

All of the other fronts would require further reinforcements, so the extermination team had to take care of the Heavenly Human Tribe army on the southern front as quickly as possible!

A phoenix rose into the sky!

An Lin, the Celestial Thearch, Xu Xiaolan, Bai Ling, Tina, Ye Ling, Xiao Hong, and the others stood atop the phoenix’s back and flew toward the Spirit Lake Realm!

The Spirit Lake Realm was located in the southern region of the Tai Chu Continent, to the southeastern direction of the Dark Marshlands, and to the north of the Southern Heavenly Wing Nation.

Its land mass wasn’t very large, probably around only a third of the Kingdom of the Nine States’ land area.

However, its geographic location was fantastic. Vital energy was extremely abundant there, as were all sorts of exotic plants and minerals, as well as mystic realms. It was a first-rate paradise on the Tai Chu Continent.

Aside from the Snake Spirit Clan, there were many other tribes that inhabited the Spirit Lake Realm. All of these tribes were only allowed to exist there as Nuwa was a very forgiving and accepting character.

Now that the Snake Spirit Clan was participating in the war to protect the human race, all of the tribes of the Spirit Lake Realm had also rallied behind them to support them in their endeavor.

The Spirit Lake Realm forces were led by the Snake Spirit Clan, and they had to face the Heavenly Human Tribe, Void Spirit Tribe, and Blood Tribe at the same time. If it weren’t for the fact that the Heavenly Human Tribe United Army had most of their attention focused on the Kingdom of the Nine States, the Snake Spirit Clan would’ve been in a lot of danger. Even so, the battle was still very intense there, and the Snake Spirit Clan was slowly showing signs of inferiority.

A phoenix flew over the sky.

An Lin stood on the phoenix’s back and looked down at the Spirit Lake Realm below.

The Spirit Lake Realm really did have lakes, and it had a lot of them.

All sorts of lakes of different sizes comprised almost a third of the continent’s land mass.

Many of the lakes were as clear as mirrors, and they were not independent of one another. All of the major lakes were connected by at least one river, creating a massive network of lakes.

There were many ships and floating cities on the surface of the lakes, creating a very unique and marvelous spectacle to behold.

Not only that, but the Spirit Lake Realm also had many special lakes. For example, there were lakes with rose-colored water, lakes of turbulent flames, green, poisonous lakes, bottomless black lakes… Special lakes like those were not connected to any other lakes.

Xu Xiaolan looked down at the system of lakes down below with a faint smile on her face. “I’ve heard that the Spirit Lake Realm has the best hot springs on the entire continent. I really want to go there…”

An Lin’s eyes lit up. “I’ll take you there once we finish this battle!”

A light blush appeared on Xu Xiaolan’s face, and she nodded gently. “Alright.”

“Don’t be fooled, Big Sister Xu Xiaolan! I can see the sinister light in Giant An Lin’s eyes!” Tina flew over to Xu Xiaolan’s shoulder with a stern expression.

“Er…” Xu Xiaolan faltered slightly. The whole point was that she was allowing herself to be fooled.

An Lin looked at Tina with a resentful expression.

Tina stuck out her tiny little tongue at him.

Within the Spirit Lake Realm’s geothermal lake.

A massive octopus monster over ten thousand feet in size was taking a thoroughly enjoyable bath while scrubbing its body with its tentacles. The battle on the front line was quite intense, but the lake guardians were still quite safe.

They would be fine as long as the Heavenly Human Tribe did not make it here.

All of a sudden, the octopus monster sensed an indescribably horrifying aura.

Its entire body shuddered, and instinctive fear welled up in its heart as it was struck by a sense of bloodline intimidation, as if it was being confronted by a higher rank life form.

A ball of flames flashed through the sky at blinding speed, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

“Was that just my imagination?” the octopus monster mused.

A few seconds later, fearsome wind pressure swept forth, sweeping up a massive wave in the geothermal lake, which hit the octopus monster right in the face!

The octopus monster looked at the sky with a dumbstruck expression. “What the hell was that?!”
