The enormous star settled onto the ground and looked on ahead with an expression of fear on its face. “This is the ancient battleground. I don’t know what kind of battle could have reduced this place to such a devastating lethal realm.”
This was the black extreme where the entire environment should have been quite dark and dim, but there was boundless residual terrifying energy up ahead emanating light, illuminating the entire heaven and earth and exuding a sense of lethal peril.
An Lin and the others jumped down from the star and inspected the environment up ahead with intrigue in their eyes.
There were still many signs of the earth-shattering battle that took place here. There were mountains that had been split in half and massive, bottomless craters in the ground. There was also a huge spatial fissure that still hadn’t completely healed over, from which boundless chaotic turbulence erupted.
White Spirit Snake closed her eyes and carefully sensed the energy in the air before giving her analysis. “There is an extremely potent soul power drifting up ahead, as well as the power of a true demon. Aside from that, there is a very unfamiliar and powerful energy that I’ve never seen before…”
“So a battle between the Void Spirit Tribe and the True Demon Tribe as well as an unfamiliar race took place here?” Black Spirit Snake summarized.
“There’s an unfamiliar race? That’s interesting…” An Lin was intrigued.
“Seeing as Sect Leader An Lin is quite pleased with this place, can I go now?” the Demonic Frost Star asked in a feeble voice.
“Why are you in such a hurry to leave?” An Lin’s eyebrows perked up. “You can go after I reap some rewards in there. Stay behind me.”
“I can’t! I’m too big, so I’m very prone to sustaining damage from all sorts of residual energy and chaotic turbulence. Please just let me go…” the Demonic Frost Star pleaded.
“You’re not a child anymore; you’re a Dao Integration Stage super mighty figure! Can’t you shrink your body?” An Lin spoke in a cold voice.
“If I shrink my body, my power will also decrease…” the Demonic Frost Star explained.
“That’s not an issue. You shrink your body, and I’ll protect you!” An Lin responded.
The Demonic Frost Star: “…”
This terrifying man was going to protect it?
He didn’t sound very trustworthy.
“Are you going to shrink or not?” An Lin’s expression darkened slightly.
The Demonic Frost Star shuddered. “Please don’t hit me! I’ll shrink, I’ll shrink…”
Soon, the Demonic Frost Star had transformed into a star about the size of a human head. At the same time, its cultivation base had fallen to the Return to Void Initial Stage, which was inferior even to An Lin’s.
Everyone clicked their tongue in wonder upon seeing this.
The Demonic Frost Star explained with a pitiful expression, “I cultivate in the dao of stars, and I become more powerful the bigger I am… Now that you’re forcing me to shrink, my cultivation base has also taken a massive hit…”
An Lin patted the blue star with a comforting expression. “That’s alright, you’re still at the Return to Void Stage. I’m only at the Return to Void Intermediate Stage, and I’m still going ok.”
The Demonic Frost Star almost burst into tears. “That’s not the same thing!”
An Lin as a Return to Void Stage mighty figure could beat the crap out of super mighty figures at the Dao Integration Pinnacle Stage, but in its current state, any Dao Integration Stage super mighty figures would be able to crush it!
Everyone strode into the ancient battleground.

Scathing blood winds swept toward them like sabers.
These blood winds would be powerful enough to kill most living beings, but to them, it was merely a gentle breeze.
Everyone continued onward, encountering all types of lethal realms, but all of them were broken by their absolute power and nothing could stop them.
This place was indeed an ancient battleground where many mighty figures had fought. There was even some residual energy that struck fear into An Lin’s heart, but there were remarkably very few treasures here. Aside from a few carcasses that could be used as materials, there weren’t even any spirit-rank treasures, and this completely belied the caliber of this battleground.
“How about we split up?” An Lin suggested.
Xu Xiaolan looked around at the vast expanse of murky grey land up ahead and agreed to this idea.
This ancient battleground was way too big, and it would be a better idea to split up. That way, they could cover a few more areas, and there would be no altercation with regard to who received what.
For example, if everyone stayed together and encountered one immortal herb, which one among the six of them should take it? This was a very difficult choice.
“If you encounter any danger or difficulties, use this to contact me.” An Lin handed everyone a black ball each as he said, “Just inject your vital energy into this black ball, and as long as we’re no more than five hundred thousand kilometers away from one another, everyone else with a black ball will immediately know your location.”
Liu Mingxuan, Liu Qianhuan, Black Spirit Snake, White Spirit Snake, and Xu Xiaolan all took one each.
The Demonic Frost Star didn’t need one as An Lin was protecting it.
Liu Mingxuan and Liu Qianhuan went one way, while everyone else went in different directions to explore.
An Lin continued onward and carefully surveyed the environment around him. Most of the time, he was digging around corpses for treasures. Most of these corpses were the bodies of True Demon Tribe powerful beings, and there were also some broken spirit tools and immortal tool shards that could be sold for a decent price.
An Lin rummaged through the carcass of a godfiend over a thousand feet in height before stepping back with a resigned expression.
“Sigh… this place would be a paradise for a peasant, but why do I feel like I’m picking up trash?”
The Demonic Frost Star shuddered upon hearing An Lin’s complaint, and it immediately spoke in a panicked voice, “All of the good stuff must be located deeper in the battlefield!”
The Demonic Frost Star was petrified that An Lin would become dissatisfied and kill it.
It wished more than anyone else that An Lin could be happy and would find treasures that satisfied him. Only then would there be a chance of An Lin letting it go.
An Lin nodded. He simply couldn’t bear to look at all of this trash anymore.
He had picked up the storage rings of the Sword Essence Emperor, the Chaotic Demon Ball, the Dark Soul Emperor, the Bright Soul Snake, the Infernal Abyss Emperor, the God Engulfing Skeleton, and Ember, so his wealth had swelled considerably once again. As for all of these treasures strewn across the battlefield, it really was no different to trash in his eyes.
An Lin continued onward, but there were no eye-catching treasures to be found.
“This doesn’t feel quite right. It feels like other living beings have found this place first and already taken all of the valuable treasures here…” An Lin was quite confused.
The Demonic Frost Star immediately retorted, “That’s impossible! The Spirit Realm has only been open for a few days, and this area has only opened up for the first time in history. Furthermore, I was the one who found this place first, so how could anyone else have come here before us?”
“Actually, he’s right. We have taken all of the treasures here, and you’re really just picking up trash…” a seductive, enticing voice sounded from behind them.
The Demonic Frost Star was given a fright and immediately turned around to find a True Demon Tribe woman in crimson armor. She was holding a long spear while appraising them with an enticing smile.
At this moment, a cold male voice sounded from up ahead, “Dark Spear Holy Demon, stop wasting time with these two Return to Void Stage trash. Kill them so that we can go and help Mistress Demonic Maiden.”
A True Demon Tribe powerful being emerged and appraised An Lin with cold eyes.
