Fortunately, Yue Tu did not strike down at full power so An Lin wasn’t completely knocked out on the spot.
Su Qianyun hurriedly wrapped an arm around An Lin’s waist to stop him from teetering over as stars danced in front of his eyes. She then turned to glare at Yue Tu with a resentful expression.
Yue Tu humphed coldly with a justified expression.
How long had it been since a man entered the Moon Palace? Now that there was finally one after such a long time, it naturally had to teach him a lesson to keep him tame and obedient.
“Since you’re here to repay your debt, I’ll allow you to see Sister Chang’e.”
Yue Tu looked at An Lin before turning to lead from the front.
“But I have to warn you, The Palace Leader is in a really foul mood at the moment, so you have to be careful with your words and actions. If you incur her wrath, no one will be able to save you!” Yue Tu turned to caution An Lin before it strode forward.
An Lin nodded solemnly. He was only here to repay a debt, so he just had to behave obediently and everything should be fine.
On the ninth level of the Moon Palace, one could see the entirety of the Moon below.
Passing through a screen with an antiquated feel to it, a female figure appeared in An Lin’s field of vision. This was the woman with the renowned reputation of being the most beautiful woman under the heavens.
She wore a white dress which rippled gently in the light breeze, appearing as if it were a lotus flower blossoming in the dead of night.
An elegant and graceful female figure lay in a lounge chair, with one of her porcelain-like hands supporting her chin and a lazy expression on her face. A pair of beautiful eyes stared off into space, as if in deep contemplation about something.
Chang’e’s features were even more beautiful than Su Qianyun’s. Like a divine maiden from the heavens, she was able to melt the coldest of hearts and enchant any onlookers.
An Lin thought that he had already been desensitized by all the beautiful women he had seen, but the sheer perfection of Chang’e still left him completely rooted to the spot and unable to utter a single word.
“Sister Chang’e, Classmate An Lin accumulated a lot of spirit stones recently and has come here especially to repay you for saving his life.” Su Qianyun smiled daintily.
An Lin came to his senses and spoke respectfully, “I’m forever indebted to you for your kindness and have come here today to present some spirit stones to express my gratitude. I hope you may accept my offering.”
“Time passes by like a slow-moving creek, but I’m still unable to glean the essence of the world before me…”
Chang’e spoke in a cool voice as she shook her head lightly and stared off into the vast expanse of stars in the sky.
An Lin blinked his eyes in incomprehension.
What did she just say?
An Lin was a little dumbfounded. He didn’t know whether Chang’e had heard him speak, so what was he supposed to do now? Did he need to repeat himself?
“What Sister Chang’e is saying is that she has been bored for a long time,” Su Qianyun transmitted her voice to An Lin in private.
An Lin came to a sudden realization at Su Qianyun’s reminder. The words spoken by mighty figures were indeed deep and profound. An average Joe like him wouldn’t even be able to understand the meaning behind her words.
He immediately transmitted his voice to Su Qianyun in reply as if he was grasping desperately onto a lifejacket, “She didn’t reply to me about the spirit stones, what do I do now?”
“Sister Chang’e is clearly pondering a question and is not in the mood to discuss your debt. We can try to cheer her up and bring up the issue again once she’s in a better mood!” Su Qianyun transmitted her voice to him again.
An Lin’s lips twitched lightly. Cheer Chang’e up? He didn’t even know how to cheer up his beast pets when they were in a bad mood, how was he supposed to cheer up someone he knew nothing about?
“Sister Chang’e, is something bothering you, you can talk to me about it if you want.” Su Qianyun took the initiative and strode to Chang’e’s side with a vibrant smile on her face.
Chang’e finally turned her gaze to focus on Su Qianyun and sighed lightly. “My thoughts are like weeds in spring, the further I try to detach myself from them, the more entangled I become in them.”

An Lin stood with a vacant expression and couldn’t help but transmit his voice to Su Qianyun again. “What’s Chang’e saying now?”
“She’s saying that she tends to think too much when she’s bored, and her thoughts become like weeds in spring, cropping up relentlessly and clouding her mind. I feel like she might be a little bit depressed, let me try and cheer her up first,” Su Qianyun replied.
An Lin nodded solemnly and continued to stand off to the side in silence.
Such a sophisticated method of speech was not something uneducated buffoons like him could comprehend.
Thus, Su Qianyun and Chang’e continued to chat back and forth between each other. An Lin couldn’t understand a single word of what Chang’e was saying. Perhaps only Su Qianyun would be able to converse so freely with her.
Yue Tu clasped its jade pestle in its hand as it stood beside An Lin, blinking from time to time as it looked up at Chang’e.
An Lin could see that the rabbit also seemed a bit confused and thus transmitted his voice to it with curiosity, “Xiao Yue, can you understand what Senior Chang’e is saying?”
Yue Tu shuddered at his question. “Is Xiao Yue a nickname an idiot like you should be referring to me as? Jeez, I’ve got goosebumps running all over my body now!”
An Lin: “…”
Yue Tu continued after a while, “The Palace Leader only speaks like this when she suffers an onset of hipster disease. When she’s in this state, only Su Qianyun is able to hold a normal conversation with her…”
Hipster disease? An Lin took in a deep breath as his eyes lit up with relief.
He was initially wondering whether there actually was something wrong with his intelligence and was considering whether he needed to take an IQ test.
However, if this was something that not even Yue Tu could comprehend, then there was clearly something wrong with Chang’e instead of himself!
An Lin felt as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders as he continued to listen to the conservation between the Celestial Maidens before him.
“I’m like a flower petal that has fallen into a trench, I yearn for a different life where I can live out my dreams but awaken to find myself alone in this cold palace… ”
“Sister Chang’e, Xiao Yue and I will always be by your side, I won’t allow you to speak so pessimistically!”
“If I obtain what I want, I’ll be at a loss for what to yearn for next. But if I don’t obtain the object of my desire, my heart is overwhelmed with grief and loss…”
“Heehee, when I become a Celestial Immortal, I’ll assume the role of Deputy Palace Leader. That way, I can always remain by your side.”
…
An Lin’s admiration for Su Qianyun continued to grow as he listened to their conversation. To be able to converse freely with Chang’e under such circumstances, what amazing interpretation abilities would that require…
Su Qianyun had transformed from a little girl with no aptitude for languages, who couldn’t even master Mandarin and English, to an expert of words that was admired by even her teacher, An Lin.
A bizarre thought even began to form in An Lin’s mind, which was that the seemingly pure and innocent Su Qianyun was actually Chang’e’s big sister, and Su Qianyun was in the process of soothing her mentally unstable little sister…
“Everything is like the reflection of the moon and flowers in a pond of water, I can only look on wistfully, but the reflection would shatter should I reach for the moon and flowers in the water.”
A hint of sadness appeared on Chang’e’s face at the conclusion of her sentence, making her appear particularly vulnerable and sorrowful. An Lin suddenly had the urge to hug her gently to himself in order to soothe her aching heart.
Of course, An Lin valued his life far too much to actually act on those whims.
A surprised expression appeared on Su Qianyun’s face. “Is that really what you think?”
Chang’e nodded her head, then shook her head.
This was the first time during the conversation that an expression of surprise had appeared on Su Qianyun’s face, prompting An Lin to transmit his voice to her curiously, “What did Chang’e just say?”
Su Qianyun replied with a serious expression, “Sister Chang’e says she’s too perfect for her own good, and although she has had many potential suitors ask for her hand, all of them have ulterior motives in their pursuit. It has become very difficult to find people that love her wholeheartedly for who she is and even harder to find someone that satisfies her standards. ”
“In other words, she’s feeling a little lonely, and she says… she wants to be in a relationship!”
