Did he just do that?
The same thought appeared in everyone’s mind.
Chen Meng swallowed audibly. He was tempted to throw An Lin off the carriage just a moment ago. Thinking back, that was a preposterous notion! If he knew how powerful An Lin was, he wouldn’t dare to have thoughts like that in ten thousand years!
Everyone finally adjusted to the idea that An Lin was an extremely powerful mighty figure, and their attitudes did a full 180 as everyone became exceedingly respectful toward him.
They offered up all the food and water they had. These things were very important to the caravan, but they still offered them up regardless.
Chen Meng also made the effort to formally make an apology to An Lin.
An Lin had never taken their attitudes to heart anyway so he waved his hand nonchalantly to send them on their way.
Bai Shuyan came to An Lin’s side, and her eyes were practically glowing. She had countless questions she wanted to ask, but she was a little afraid to speak.
“Tell me about your world, I need to re-establish my world view.
“That’s right, I’m an alien,” An Lin spoke nonchalantly.
Bai Shuyan: “…”
As expected of a mighty figure, even his words and actions were extremely unique.
After recovering her composure, Bai Shuyan made a rough introduction of the Zhan Qi Continent to An Lin.
They were currently located in the Flying Cloud Desert, which was part of the territory of the Yun Nation.
There were three large Empires on the Zhan Qi Continent, along with four Divine Flames and five Divine Weapons.
The Flying Cloud Nation was an affiliated state to the Ao Xin Empire and each Empire had a Battle God as their leader. This caravan was transporting merchandise toward the capital of the Flying Cloud Nation, Luo Yun City.
An Lin listened to Bai Shuyan’s description and suddenly asked with a curious expression, “In your opinion, what rank warrior would I be on the Zhan Qi Continent?”
Bai Shuyan’s features paled slightly, and she gave a panicked reply. “Senior, your strength is well above anything I’ve ever seen, I don’t dare to critique your strength!”
The Zhan Qi Continent was a world where strength was absolute, and it was a gesture of extreme disrespect to critique the strength of someone stronger than you. She respected An Lin from the very bottom of her heart, so she didn’t dare provide an answer to his question.
“Then do you think a Battle King is capable of the strength I just displayed?” An Lin tried another approach.
Bai Shuyan faltered slightly at his words and hesitated for a long while before replying, “I have not seen much in my short life so far, but I have witnessed a battle between Battle Kings. I can tell you that I have never seen any Battle Kings that can unleash such a fearsome attack.”
An Lin nodded. That slash just now was basically a nonchalant wave of his sword. That meant that he was at least the equivalent of a Battle Emperor rank warrior on this continent.
Battle Master, Battle Spirit, Battle King, Battle Emperor, Battle Sage, and Battle God. Those were the six ranks for warriors on this continent in ascending order. Apparently, the strongest warrior in the Flying Cloud Nation was only Battle Emperor rank and Battle Sages were already considered to be near the tip of the warrior pyramid. Battle Gods were powerful beings at the very tip of the said pyramid, and there were only three on the whole continent. An Lin was quite curious with regard to just how powerful they would be.
Bai Shuyan remained silent for a long while before mustering up the courage to state an observation that had been bothering her. “Senior An Lin, the power you used… I feel like it’s extremely unfamiliar.”
“You’re saying that it wasn’t Battle Qi?” An Lin asked with a hint of a smile on his face.
“That’s right…” Bai Shuyan nodded nervously and only continued after making the observation that An Lin didn’t seem to be against this topic of conversation, “People like us who train in the way of Battle Qi can detect the flow of Battle Qi in battle. I was only able to detect an extremely vast energy in the sword slash you unleashed earlier, but no Battle Qi… ”
An Lin smiled lightly. “Don’t think too much about that.”
Bai Shuyan nodded obediently and didn’t continue pressing for answers.
An Lin was beginning to understand what was going on now. Battle Qi seemed to be a type of energy that existed only on this continent, but the vital energy he used was like an omnipresent energy that could be utilized anywhere.

He didn’t know whether one type of energy was superior to the other, but Battle Qi was able to make living organisms evolve, so it was definitely a type of energy that should not be looked down on.
They arrived in Luo Yun City the next day.
An Lin stared at the magnificent city before him as well as the streets bustling with people and he couldn’t help but sigh with emotion. He had transmigrated after all…
“Senior An Lin, Shuyan will take her leave now. If you have anything you need, you can come to Bai Palace to find me.”
Bai Shuyan bowed slightly and bade farewell to An Lin.
An Lin’s eyes lit up at her words. “I actually have something I need right now. Do you know where I can buy a map? The more detailed the map, the better.”
Bai Shuyan smiled lightly. “You can come back with me to Bai Palace. There’s a map of the entire continent there, but only the territory within the Ao Xin Empire is recorded in great detail.”
An Lin nodded and accompanied Bai Shuyan to the Bai Palace.
Bai Shuyan was the daughter of one of the generals of the Flying Cloud Nation. She didn’t have a lot of power within the Bai Palace, but she did at least have the authority to take An Lin into the palace library to browse for some books.
An Lin saw the map of the entire Zhan Qi Continent in the library. On the map, the Ao Xin Empire, She Ling Empire, and Bei Hong Empire were most prominent, while the Flying Cloud Nation was only an affiliate state on the border of the Ao Xin Empire. In comparison to the other nations on the map, it could only be described as moderate in size.
There were four Divine Flames and five Divine Weapons that were renowned throughout the whole continent. It was said that they were distributed throughout the Ancient Barren Realm.
Apparently, Battle God Xu Ming of the Ao Xin Empire had obtained a Divine Weapon, while the Battle Emperor Zi Yang of the Bei Hong Empire had obtained a Divine Flame. The rest of the Divine Flames and the Divine Weapons were all nowhere to be found.
An Lin was very interested in these Divine Flames and Divine Weapons. Men would always be attracted to pursuing badass things like these in order to accentuate their self-worth. For example, riding the most untameable horse, drinking the strongest alcohol, eating the spiciest dishes, courting the hottest…[note to editor: the sentence intentionally cuts off here and leaves the rest to the reader’s imagination]
Alright, it was decided then; he would go and explore the Ancient Barren Realm.
Right after he made the decision, a middle-aged man with a long beard walked into the library toward Bai Shuyan.
“Little Yan, thank God you’re back.
“The world isn’t a very safe place at the moment, stay in the palace and stop venturing out to gather medicinal ingredients.”
The man spoke in an even tone but his voice was imbued with an irrefutable sense of authority.
“Father, I can’t do that, I’m a doctor,” Bai Shuyan argued.
The most important thing for her occupation was to gather practical experience. She wouldn’t make any improvements if she was to just stay in the palace all the time.
The man shook his head. “I’m not restricting you because I want to. Have you heard about what has happened in the Da Zhou Nation?”
“What happened in the Da Zhou Nation?” Bai Shuyan clearly hadn’t received any news.
The man spoke with a solemn expression, “The king of the Da Zhou Nation has been killed! Apparently, he tried to force himself upon a woman he desired but was instantly killed by the woman. The ensuing battle resulted in the death and injury of almost all the powerful warriors within the imperial palace… The Da Zhou Nation is in a complete state of turmoil, even our nation has been affected and there have been riots and unrest cropping up all around the nation.”
An Lin was slightly intrigued by his words. Wasn’t the Da Zhou Nation the neighbor to the Flying Cloud Nation? Their king should be around Battle Emperor rank as well, just like the king of the Flying Cloud Nation. With that in mind, the aforementioned woman had to be quite powerful.
He had to admit; he was taking a bit of pleasure in the misfortune of others. It served the king right that he was killed for trying to force himself onto a woman.
“Just who is this woman? And how could she be so strong?” Bai Shuyan’s expression was filled with shock and curiosity.
The man shook his head and furrowed his brows lightly. “That’s the strange part. She doesn’t match any of our records of powerful warriors, and her weapon is an extremely peculiar blue Moonlight Disc. She’s a very mysterious person and there’s word going around that the language she speaks is also a foreign and unintelligible tongue… Anyway, what I’m saying is, just wait until all this dies down before you venture out of the palace again.”
The man’s words were like a clap of thunder erupting in An Lin’s head.
Blue Moonlight Disc? Unintelligible language?
A thought suddenly surfaced in his mind, making him tremble with excitement.
