The demonic moon appeared in the sky, and with it, a peculiar song began to reverberate throughout heaven and earth.
An Lin listened to the song of heaven and earth, and the scenes of countless beasts mating with one another suddenly surfaced before his eyes.
During the process of mating, their bodies split open, and their blood and flesh rained down onto the ground below.
Their deceased souls wailed in anguish while the demonic music drew them toward depravity…
Such a bizarre image made An Lin falter for a second, but he soon came to his sense again.
He turned his eyes upon the black phoenix, to find that he seemed to be even more heavily affected by the illusions, to the extent that he was completely rooted to the spot.
An Lin was certainly not going to pass up on this opportunity, and he charged forward with his black cape flapping behind him before sending a black sword projection crashing into the black phoenix’s body.
A ghastly sword wound appeared on the black phoenix’s body, but the pain from the wound also brought him back to his senses as his eyes refocused on An Lin.
Semi-transparent chains suddenly appeared on his body, connecting his heart to the ground below. Under the light of the demonic moon, hints of golden light began to flash along the chains, further weakening the black phoenix’s aura.
“The demonic moon is here, I don’t have much time left. I can’t let trash like you obstruct my great plan; I’ll kill you all even if it’s at the expense of years off my lifespan!” The black phoenix suddenly aimed his palm toward his own head.
Boom!
The devastating power imbued within his palm instantly pulverized his own head with a resounding boom audible from miles away.
The black phoenix’s body plummeted lifelessly to the ground.
An Lin’s mouth fell open in shock.
What just happened? Did the black phoenix just commit suicide?!
However, right at this moment, the huge black phoenix projection in the sky suddenly transformed into boundless black flames which engulfed the body plummeting toward the ground to create an airtight ball of black flames.
A few seconds later, the black ball of flames began to shrink and an extremely fearsome power emanated from within.
An Lin’s heart skipped a beat when he detected the terrifying aura emanating from the ball of black flames. A concept suddenly occurred to him: rebirth from the ashes!
The black flames scattered to reveal a man in a suit of black flame armor standing on the ground with a pair of wings over a hundred feet in wingspan.
His wings were disproportionately huge compared to his body, and the massive wings obscured the entire sky, giving onlookers a sense of asphyxiation and despair.
Perhaps this was by design, but he also had a black flaming cape on his shoulders which extended for several thousand feet, as if he was trying to compete with An Lin for who had the biggest black cape.
The black phoenix really had been reborn from the ashes.
After his rebirth, An Lin could feel that the threat he posed was at least ten times more powerful than prior to his rebirth!
The black phoenix turned an expressionless gaze upon An Lin as a black flaming sword materialized in his hand. “Pitiful trash, I will only require three strikes to kill you!”
An Lin gripped his Evil-Slaying Sword with a grave expression in anticipation for the black phoenix’s attack.
Thump!
The air exploded.
“First strike.”
The black phoenix flew through the air and transformed into black flames to appear almost instantaneously in front of An Lin.
His black flaming sword also carved out a lethal trajectory at this moment.
An Lin relied on the power of the Endless Night technique to take the attack head-on.
Boom!
Two extremely powerful auras collided and the resulting shockwave radiated outward for several kilometers in all directions.
The black flames converged to form a massive ball of flames which pulverized the ground below, and heaven and earth dimmed for an instant in the face of their clash.
The space around them was unable to bear such fearsome power and black spatial rifts began to appear.
Overwhelming power swept through An Lin’s body, and he felt as if all his internal organs had been torn apart as he spat out a mouthful of blood.
An Lin’s body flew back like a cannonball before crashing into the side of a mountain, causing the mountain to tremble and quake.
The black phoenix closed in in hot pursuit while wielding his black flaming sword as fearsome power rose into the air, creating a huge longsword several kilometers in length. The flames emanating from the sword seemed to be scorching the very heavens and they swept down toward An Lin with unstoppable force.
“Second strike!”
The mountain upon which An Lin’s body had plummeted onto was instantly slashed in half by the huge black sword projection and the sword projection continued on toward An Lin, who was looking absolutely minuscule in comparison.
Boom!
Black flames burst forth from the earthshattering sword projection, completely engulfing and pulverizing the mountain.

As the dust settled, An Lin was revealed to be kneeling on one knee with his body riddled with wounds and his black cape in tatters around him.
A disdainful sneer appeared on the black phoenix’s face as the flames on his black sword burned with scorching heat.
A miniature phoenix emerged from the flames before revolving around the blade of the sword, and the devastating power emanating from the sword became even more fearsome.
“Those two strikes were almost at Return to Void Initial Stage power; you’ve done quite well to be able to survive them.
“But it’s time to end this. This final sword will truly be at Return to Void Initial Stage power; your fate is sealed.”
The black phoenix strode toward An Lin, closing a distance of a thousand feet with each stride and his sword intent became more and more powerful with each passing stride.
When he finally took his last stride, his sword intent had already reached its peak.
“Third strike!”
The black phoenix appeared in front of An Lin in the blink of an eye before stabbing his sword straight toward An Lin’s heart.
An Lin closed his eyes as a black mist began to exude from his body.
Origin Energy of the Netherworld!
Dawn!
An extremely bright light burst forth from the Evil-Slaying Sword as if dawn was finally breaking over the pitch-black night.
The dark sky was lit up by the blinding white sword projection, and the black flames were completely overwhelmed by the intense light.
The black phoenix widened his eyes, but he felt as if he had been blinded by the white light and could no longer see the man in front of him.
The white sword projection lit up heaven and earth and even outshone the demonic moon. This was an extremely powerful, blinding light filled with boundless hope.
The sword projection descended with the power to purify the world!
The black phoenix had been blinded and didn’t even see how the sword struck him, but the bright sword projection cleaved open his black flaming armor nonetheless and tore open his body from his head to his stomach.
Only the sound of An Lin’s voice reverberated in his ears. “First strike!”
Black blood gushed forth as the sword projection slowly vanished, and the light of the demonic moon once again painted the landscape crimson.
The black phoenix wailed in anguish as he collapsed to the ground. There was a ghastly wound etched into his body which had almost completely torn his body in half.
Black blood poured forth onto the ground as the nine semi-transparent chains grew increasingly more substantial.
“How could you be so powerful, how could you be so powerful…”
He looked on in disbelief as An Lin slowly made his way toward him.
“It’s you that’s too weak.” An Lin approached the black phoenix step by step and although he was no longer using the Endless Night technique, his aura didn’t seem to have diminished in the slightest.
The black phoenix trembled as An Lin slowly drew closer.
“Impossible… I refuse to be beaten by trash like you!”
He looked at the sacrificial altar in the distance, and a vicious expression appeared on his face.
“The Divine General, black phoenix, won’t be beaten, I’ll kill you no matter the price!”
He slammed his palm toward his own head again as he spoke!
Boom!
His head was pulverized again before black flames burst forth and instantly enveloped his body.
An Lin’s expression immediately darkened. “Is there no end to this?”
The black phoenix once again began to take shape amid the black flames.
A powerful aura suddenly erupted, and a black phoenix burst through the flames.
The phoenix was only around thirty feet in size and black divine flames burned all over his body. He turned his gaze upon An Lin and powerful killing intent burst forth from his eyes.
Perhaps it was because he had been too heavily injured, but the power displayed by the black phoenix seemed to be even more powerful than the first time he had been reborn, but his aura was severely diminished as if he was barely holding on.
The black phoenix said in a cold voice, “I’ll admit that you’ve managed to push me further than any of the other ants have. Hence, I’ll use my most brutal power to seal your soul within the demonic moon altar, where it will be tortured for billions of years!”
An Lin looked up at the black phoenix with no fear in his expression.
He stowed his Evil-Slaying Sword away before bringing out a white longsword from his storage ring.
Intermediate rank spirit tool— Nine Star Frost Sword.
An Lin replied with a cold expression, “Let’s see how many times you can respawn, noob. This is the second strike.”
