Chapter 984: Laying Out Some Facts

Since Ao Meng had already conceded, An Lin didn’t want to take things too far.

At the very least, he wasn’t going to keep stepping on the Dragon King’s head.

An Lin leaped down from the Dragon King before flying into the air atop his brick to draw level with the Dragon King’s eyes.

He was quite satisfied to see the king of the Dragon Court at his mercy. This was a splendid day!

“Alright, let’s take it from the start.”

A faint smile appeared on An Lin’s face as he looked at Ao Meng. “Let’s start with ascertaining who discovered the spirit stone mine first.”

Ao Meng’s expression shifted minutely as he turned toward the Dragon Tribe mine scouts.

An Lin issued a command, “Scouts of the Four Nine Immortal Sect and the Dragon Tribe, come over here.”

The Four Nine Immortal Sect outer-sect disciples immediately heeded An Lin’s instructions.

The Dragon Tribe cultivators were unwilling to do so, but they still obediently made their way toward An Lin in fear of being killed.

“So, tell me, who discovered this mine first? The Four Nine Immortal Sect scouts can go first,” An Lin asked with a serious expression.

“Of course it was us!” a female disciple immediately replied in a loud voice, and it was easy to tell from the red rims of her eyes that she had been crying. “We discovered this mine and immediately reported our findings to the sect before evaluating the mine.

“However, during this process, a Flying Ball Tribe hunter discovered us. We didn’t take much notice of this at first, but then the Dragon Tribe scouts arrived not long after and shamelessly dictated that they had discovered the mine first. It was likely that the Flying Ball Tribe hunter had disclosed what it had seen to the Dragon Tribe scouts.”

The female disciple glowered at the Dragon Tribe scouts as she spoke.

“Then where is that hunter now?” An Lin asked.

“It must have been killed by them!” The female disciple spat through gritted teeth.

An Lin turned to look at the Dragon Tribe scouts with an expression that was neutral, but nonetheless extremely threatening.

The Dragon Tribe scouts’ hearts shuddered in unison, but they fought to maintain tranquil expressions.

A middle-aged Dragon Tribe man made his way forward. “We did arrive here before your scouts and discovered this mine first, but we forgot to leave our mark here. We wanted to invite Prince Ao Shuyu here before officially beginning excavation. But… but Prince Ao Shuyu had only just arrived before he was killed by your Xiao Ze, waah…

“As for that Flying Ball Tribe hunter you were talking about, you need to have evidence before you make these claims! Don’t try to slander us like this!” Tears welled up in the man’s eyes as he spoke, and an aggrieved expression appeared on his face.

An Lin nodded. “You’re right. Everything does need to be evidence-based! So where is your evidence that you found this mine first?”

The man from the Dragon Tribe faltered upon hearing this. He did not expect An Lin to just completely gloss over the subject about the hunter.

He looked at the mine with an indignant expression. “We forgot to leave a mark here, and we were planning to return here to leave one, but we were prevented from doing so by your scouts.”

They had initially planned to say that whatever the Dragon Court of the Eastern Seas said was evidence, but they clearly couldn’t say that now, as they would be executed on the spot…

An Lin turned toward his sect disciples. “Do we have evidence to prove that this spirit stone mine is ours?”

The female disciple nodded. “We left many marks all over the mine!”

She made a few hand seals as she spoke. Soon, specks of white light began to shimmer from the green mine before converging to form symbols of the Four Nine Immortal Sect in many locations.

An Lin turned his eyes toward Ao Meng and the Dragon Tribe scouts with a smile. “I just want to say that everything has to be backed up with evidence, and it appears we’re on the same page in this aspect. The current situation is, the Four Nine Immortal Sect scouts have evidence that they discovered this mine first, whereas you have none. Hence, this mine belongs to the Four Nine Immortal Sect. Any objections?”

“But that’s only because we didn’t have time…” A Dragon Tribe scout tried to protest.

“Shut the f*ck up if you don’t have any evidence!” An Lin roared to cut the Dragon Tribe scout off.

All of the Dragon Tribe scouts shuddered in fear and dared not utter another word.

They had thought that they could forcefully wipe away the Four Nine Immortal Sect’s marks and replace them with their own. Who would have thought that things would turn out like this?

The entire Dragon Tribe entourage turned their eyes toward Ao Meng.

An Lin also turned toward Ao Meng with a smile. “Dragon King Ao Meng, do you have any objections?”

Ao Meng’s eyes were burning with fury, but he could only spit out a sentence through gritted teeth. “I don’t… But my son…”

“We’ll get to that,” An Lin interjected.

He turned toward Tina. “Did you record that entire process?”

Tina made an OK hand signal before resuming her recording.

Ao Meng’s lips twitched. In this current situation, the Dragon Court clearly couldn’t do anything but concede. However, the Four Nine Immortal Sect was definitely in the wrong for killing his son.

“Very good! So even the Dragon King of the East Sea had conceded that the spirit stone mine belongs to the Four Nine Immortal Sect,” An Lin analyzed in a methodical voice. “Then… why did the Dragon Court deploy people here?”

Everyone fell silent yet again.

A cold light flashed in An Lin’s eyes as he began to strike the final nail into the coffin. “It’s quite easy to provide an explanation for your motives. You were trying to take advantage of the fact that none of the core members of our sect were around and that it would be easy to take this spirit stone mine from us by force!

“Under the laws of the cultivating world, no one can be held accountable for killing someone if they were trying to commit robbery! In fact, it could be said that he deserved to die!”

An Lin’s voice was firm and powerful as it reverberated throughout heaven and earth.

All of the Dragon Tribe cultivators were dumbstruck as they stared at An Lin with wide eyes.

They had already figured out that they weren’t going to be able to capture Xiao Ze, but they expected the Four Nine Immortal Sect to pay some compensation in order to appease the Dragon King.

However, to their complete and utter surprise, An Lin was saying that the Dragon King’s son deserved to die!

“B*stard! That’s my brother, the second son of the Dragon King, you’re talking about! How dare you say something like that?” Ao Mingyu glowered at An Lin, and he clenched his fists as his aura erupted forth.

“That’s my son! You killed my son, and not only are you refusing to apologize, but you’re saying my son deserved to die?” Ao Meng’s voice rumbled as he glowered at An Lin with a hateful expression.

An Lin clasped his hands behind his back as he met Ao Meng’s resentful gaze with a placid one of his own. “The members of our Four Nine Immortal Sect follow the mantra of equality. What is equality? Equality is the product of reason. Only by setting aside everything else and only by analyzing things through reason can we achieve equality!”

“Your Dragon Court cultivators came here to try and steal something from the Four Nine Immortal Sect. That is the fact of the matter, and for that, your son deserved to die! In fact, it wouldn’t be unreasonable for us to kill every single Dragon Court cultivator here!”

This time, even the Four Nine Immortal Sect disciples’ eyes widened as they stared at the peerlessly domineering man standing atop the black brick.

An Lin, he… he really dared to say it!

Ao Qingyu had only just recovered slightly from his injuries when his blood seethed again upon hearing this, and he threw up another mouthful of blood.

Ao Meng was trembling violently from rage. He wanted nothing better than to crush the man standing before him with his own claws.

An Lin looked back at Ao Meng expressionlessly.

If the Four Nine Immortal Sect were a weaker sect, the Dragon Court would have completely annihilated them without a second thought. As such, there was no need for the Four Nine Immortal Sect to be civilized against these brutes.

They had fought, and they had won! Why did they have to bow their heads and appease the Dragon King?

That was not An Lin’s style!

An extremely powerful force could twist the truth however they pleased and rob the resources from a weaker force.

However, the Four Nine Immortal Sect was by no means weak! In fact, they were even more powerful than the Dragon Court!

“An Lin! Have you thought about the consequences of your words?” Ao Meng threatened in a cold voice.

“Oh? Is that a threat?” An Lin slowly pulled out his Evil-Slaying Sword. The inky-black blade seemed to be able to engulf the light of the sun. “Consequence… I’ve even considered the consequences of executing all of you right here right now!”

A cold smile appeared on his face as he turned to Ao Meng. “This spirit stone mine belongs to the Four Nine Immortal Sect, and you’re all here to commit daylight robbery. What do you think the Heavenly Court would do if I kill all of you?”

“You wouldn’t dare!” Ao Mingyu roared with rage.

Boom!

In the next instant, a sense of impending death engulfed Ao Meng’s body.

The killing intent in the air made the space around him feel more viscous.

An Lin was like a God of Slaughter as he slowly approached Ao Meng.

A chill ran down Ao Meng’s spine. He knew that An Lin was dead serious. He really was prepared to kill every Dragon Court cultivator here!
