Chapter 25 In the Mist

The whole hotel is now in a hazy mist, all the sounds of the mountains seem to be far away, and there is only silence around, like a space of stillness separate from the world.

Xiao Lan felt that something was wrong: ” Gu Shengan?”

Voices echoed all around, but were not answered.

Xiao Lan frowned, ” Luo ?”

The dense white mist is suddenly tinged with a bit of darkness, a blackness that spreads rapidly from the distance and reaches Xiao Lan’s feet, where the wrapped black shadow slowly disperses to reveal the black cat inside.

The black cat spoke, a low, elegant voice: “Sir.”

Xiao Lan : “Where did you just go?”

The black cat waved its tail, “We were scattered, this seems to be a separate space, I only identified your location when I heard your call.”

Xiao Lan takes the cat and starts to make his way through the white fog. It is still a hotel structure and visibility in the fog is poor, only being able to see about two metres ahead.

There was no sound in the white mist, only the echo of his footsteps alone in the emptiness, seemingly never ending.

” Luo , ever notice we seem to have passed this pool for the third time?” Xiao Lan frowned as he looked at the hot spring pool not far away.

Luo : “Yes, the cracks on the third stone by the pool are exactly the same as the first two.”

Did they encounter a wall of ghosts? It seemed …… very reasonable to encounter a ghostly wall in a space created by ghosts and monsters, but it was logical that he had broken the spell and Gu Mo would not have confused his scent with the five by now, and what was the point of trapping him?

Puzzled, a figure stood ahead under a tall, old tree that looked as old as time, drenched in hot spring water, with long, dark hair and a head that hung low to an unbelievable point, as if it had no bones to support it.

It’s Gu Mo.

Xiao Lan was on guard, he had now used up his skills and this was not a good way to face the boss.

Gu Mo, however, does not approach them, her lowered hand slowly rising, a hideous crack spliced between her arm and wrist, the tip pointing in the direction of the hot spring pool, and then the pose is fixed.

After a while Gu Mo’s figure slowly disappears into the mist.

Is this meant to be a way to have the hot tub checked?

Xiao Lan recalled Yang Degao’s claim that he had split Gu Mo’s body and put it in a cement mixer while the backyard was being renovated. If we compare the locations, the hot spring pool is in the backyard.

Gu Mo’s body, then, is probably in here.

Xiao Lan : ” Luo , check where the part with the body is.”

“Yes, sir.” Luo stood up and ran towards where the hot springs were, dark shadows spreading out with his movements, balking at the confines of the pools.

“Here.” Luo jumped up onto a decorative rock and pointed his paws at an area on the far right of the pool. It was a hard concrete floor that looked solid and gapless.

Xiao Lan pulled a decorative stone from the sink and weighed it in his hand before slamming it into the ground, a little hard, but okay.

The solid ground and the hard stones keep clashing with a loud thud.

A few moments later, the cement had been smashed, revealing countless sections of rotting bone inside that had been roughly severed. Among them was a lone hand bone, set in the cement, and not far from the hand was a dirty old mobile phone, just like the one Xiao Lan had fished out of the sink at the time.

I’m afraid this is the real Gu Mo mobile phone, which Tong Qing picked up at the time and didn’t know what it was made of.

The phone, which had been soaked, cemented and even left for ten years seemingly completely unbootable, actually lit up at that moment and dialed as if it had been manipulated.

It is touchingly strong.

The fog in front of Xiao Lan begins to lift and at the same time a man appears – Yang Degao, whose face is so pale and wrinkled with fear.

What he had in front of him was a mottled and faded image, as if it were an old photograph.

Ten years ago, Yang Degao, in her fifties, was holding a girl by the neck with her long hair spread out like black ink: Gu Mo.

“No!” Yang Degao stepped forward quickly, trying to stop himself, when his hand went through his own shoulder back then. The Yang Degao of ten years ago was oblivious to him and did not receive the slightest hint of influence in his movements.

It was all just an illusion.

All the damage has been done and is now nothing more than a remnant of sin.

Gu Mo’s hands pull at Yang Degao and she struggles desperately for a chance at life, but the force around her neck is so desperate.

Just then, just a wall away, the sound of a group of young boys and girls laughing and joking rang out, all with the familiar voices of

” Gu Mo, that poor sod didn’t even show up for dinner, so he’s not going out with someone.”

“I don’t think it’s a date, it’s more like a date with that.”

“Wha-”

“How shameless.”

Gu Mo’s eyes suddenly widened and she reached out in the direction of the sound of voices, crying out silently for help –

Help!!!

Help me!!!

Come on you guys !!!!

“Shall we go to a spa later?”

“Yes, yes! I want to go to the most famous one, the Medicine Spring.”

……

Unfortunately, a thin wall cut off life and the voice faded away unceremoniously, taking away the girl’s last hope.

The last thing she heard was the vicious taunts of her classmates, and the last thing she saw was the mad face of her teacher.

“It’s not! It’s not! I didn’t think to kill you! It was just an accident ……” Yang Degao sank to his knees in pain and tears, the faded image of the girl’s pale face silently locked with his.

The phone rings with an old song.

Yang Degao’s body stiffened as his mobile phone rang. He took it out of his pocket with trembling hands and the caller ID read – Gu Mo!

He had never saved Gu Mo’s phone number, and a man who had been dead for ten years could never have been able to make a phone call. Yang Degao threw the phone as hard as he could, but his trembling hands had no strength and it fell less than a metre away from him.

The phone picked up automatically and this time it was no longer a mechanical flat voice that appeared, the female voice on the other end of the line was clean and fresh with a hint of coyness, “Excuse me, is this Mr. Yang?”

It sounded like a hook from hell to Yang Degao’s ears, and he jerked back: “You spare me …… spare me, I don’t want to die!!!”

The voice on the phone rang out again, ” Mr. Yang, have you, let me go?”

Yang Degao had already broken down, he knelt on the ground and kowtowed uncontrollably, his forehead hitting the ground with a banging sound: “I’ll burn incense for you, I’ll give you offerings, I’ll give you anything you want! Let me go, please!”

A soft laugh came from the phone, “Oh, want to give me everything? Then – come keep me company!!!”

Yang Degao’s struggle was as feeble in the face of the water, as it had been in the days of Gu Mo.

The splash of water carried Yang Degao, accompanied by his shriek, towards the hot spring pool.

A few moments later a human form emerges from the water, dressed in the clothes of Yang Degao, but with limbs dangling limply and casually, like a deflated balloon, changing shape with the waves.

This faded world is once again shrouded in mist.

Xiao Lan continued on, this time without encountering another ghostly wall.

You cannot feel the passage of time in the fog, nor do you know how long has passed.

Zhang Jie seems to have twisted her foot and is limping, while Cheng Lang is beside her, holding her up and supporting her.

As soon as they met, Zhang Jie’s face changed. It was as if the rancid smell of rags had returned to her mouth, and she stared hatefully at the damned black cat, poking Xiao Lan again with her eye knife.

Noticing that something was wrong with her, Cheng Lang asked, “What’s wrong?”

Zhang Jie was emboldened by the protection: “This is the man who just tied me up! He is also responsible for our appearance here, we were so close to succeeding, and it was all because he broke the spell.”

Cheng Lang grimaced and clenched his fists, “You fucking-”

Without waiting for him to finish, Xiao Lan raised his hand and punched the wooden pillar next to him, which broke down the middle with a loud bang.

Xiao Lan flashed a smile at them, “Can I help you?”

Cheng Lang : “……”

Zhang Jie : “……”

It’s okay, excuse me.

“Rather than catching up with me, the two of you seem to have an old friend visiting.” Xiao Lan reached out and pointed behind the two men.

The two men turned their heads in confusion.

An old-fashioned computer appeared in the mist, the screen was lighting up, a chat software interface, and the chat on it was swiping very fast.

Fu Wenbo: Have you heard? Gu Mo ran off with some punks last night?

Classmate A: Really, don’t you dare say that.

Fu Wenbo: It’s true, everyone said so, and Mr. Yang saw it too. I think she must have been pregnant and couldn’t hide it so she ran away.

Du Yuhui : Bitch is disgusting, it’s the biggest shame of my life to be in the same class as her.

Zhang Jie: Oh, Gu Mo, are you okay? Why is it all over the news?

Classmate b: What’s the news?

Zhang Jie : You don’t know that yet [link].

Du Yuhui : Crap!

Cheng Lang : I already knew she was this kind of virtuous, I can’t look at people like that, look at this again you guys [link].

The story was sent by Cheng Lang and Zhang Jie to their classmates, and the group exploded into a frenzy.

Zhang Jie’s face bristled white: “No …… it’s not …… I just care about her ……”

Cheng Lang also shook: “I don’t know, it wasn’t me.”

As if to refute their sophistry, the image began to shift in the white mist.

Still faded from old photographs, Zhang Jie lounges in her beautifully decorated princess bed, wearing an expensive silk nightgown, snacking with one hand and typing with the other.

Princess J: You’re paid, and the story is written just as I said.

The Orange gossip small R: ok, package you satisfied, and a little more money can give you a good layout want?

Princess J: Yes! How many pages do you have left? Why not just write a few more.

Orange Gossip Little R: I’ll give you the front page if you’ll pay for it!

Princess J: Heck, am I bad at it?!

On the other hand, Cheng Lang sits in his plainly decorated, slightly small room, spreading every link Zhang Jie sends him to different groups, and smiling as he continues to create topics to chat with Zhang Jie.

Cheng Lang Zhang Jie The two men looked at each other and read in each other’s eyes a look full of horror and despair.

A clear and pleasant bell rings.

Zhang Jie was struck by a thunderbolt as she looked at her latest top-of-the-range flagship phone like it was a devil on the loose. Her body stiffened with fear and she didn’t even have the courage to throw the phone out, so she watched Gu Mo’s call.

Gu Mo’s voice came over the phone: “Zhang Jie.”

Zhang Jie’s eyes widened and her violent gasping almost prevented her from uttering the full phrase: “Gu …… ho …… Gu …… Gu Mo ……”

Gu Mo sounded like he was talking to a friend: “Why?”

Fear made Zhang Jie’s lips tremble, each word sounding a little fluttering: “I, I ……”

But what could she say? That Gu Mo had received more looks than herself on the day she started school, that the senior she had taken a shine to had praised Gu Mo’s essay, that she was jealous of Gu Mo’s looks, that she was smug and dismissive when she learned that Gu Mo’s family was poor?

In the end she could only pale in defense: “I didn’t kill you, don’t come looking for me, okay ……”

Gu Mo laughed, a light, carefree laugh, “No.”

“Zhang Jie let out a desperate scream and, as if finally gaining strength, slammed the phone to the ground. Then she fished out one thing after another from her body and threw it at the phone, a string carved with a Buddha image, a jade pendant that had been enlightened around her neck, a pouch wrapped with charms hidden in her coat pocket ……

Unfortunately it didn’t work.

The string was torn apart in mid-air by an invisible force, the beads splashed out and tumbled to the ground; the jade pendant shattered into pieces as it fell; the pouch ignited without fire the moment it came into contact with the phone screen, turning into drifting ashes with great speed.

All resistance is as pale and fragile as the feeble struggle of a young girl once faced with overwhelming gossip.

Before Zhang Jie could withdraw her outstretched hand, it was twisted and turned as if something was pulling it, flipping it bit by bit in front of her in a direction that was about to exceed the limits of what the human body could reach.

“The pain was so intense that Zhang Jie almost fainted.

Zhang Jie turned to Cheng Lang with a ghastly white face : “Save me ……”

This man had been showing her affection since high school, and had helped out with the Gu Mo incident back then. If she made it out alive this time, she might as well consider going out with him as a way of thanking him for his heart over the years.

To his surprise, Cheng Lang took a step back.

His face was an expression of righteous indignation as he shouted into the air around him, ” Gu Mo , I was all tricked by her to do this to you. She kept saying bad things about you in front of me to make me misunderstand you, when …… in fact it was you I always liked!”

“Really, I noticed you when we first met at the beginning of high school, you were so unique in the crowd, like an empty valley, and I remembered you fondly then.”

As if convincing herself, Cheng Lang reached out and pointed at Zhang Jie: “If it weren’t for her, for this vicious woman, we would have been together a long time ago.”

“MoMo, believe me, I’m really not trying to hurt you!”

“MoMo, you love me so much, you wouldn’t hurt me would you?”

The improvisation is perfect in terms of emotion, lines and movement, creating a touching image of a lovelorn prodigal son coming to his senses. Had it been in a bitter drama, it would have touched a large audience with a taste for this.

Unfortunately there was no response in the air, only the constant cries of pain from Zhang Jie on the side.

Seeing that his true confession had not had the desired effect, his heart sank and he ignored Zhang Jie, who had fallen to the ground in pain, and ran forward.

Although his job as manager doesn’t require much exercise, Cheng Lang usually goes to the gym every week to keep himself in shape. He is still in great shape and runs extremely fast, disappearing in a flash into the white mist which does not stop him, like a cat that has deliberately let the rat go.

Cheng Lang’s crisp, clean move left Zhang Jie in a state of shock.

I can’t imagine that after years of being a pond master, she actually tipped over in her own fish pond today, or at the hands of such an ordinary man whom she usually doesn’t even see.

Fuck, man’s mouth, cheating ghosts.

Zhang Jie, covered in cold sweat, reached out with his other hand to brace himself on the ground in an attempt to stand up.

Instead, I felt my arms being gripped by invisible forces, followed by my left foot, my right foot and my neck ……

Despair strikes the heart.

The force increased little by little, and gradually the bones and muscles began to struggle to support her, and amidst the suffocating sensation and the tearing pain, her sense of the world slowly receded.

The last consciousness was a reluctance and resignation for the world, she was still young, she was so rich, her family was powerful …… she didn’t want to die ……

The white mist gathered again and the world returned to a hazy haze.

Like a child showing off a toy to a new friend, Gu Mo takes Xiao Lan on a journey to witness her revenge.

The next thing that appears is a corridor, a long, immaculate corridor, submerged in a white mist, the end of which cannot be seen. To the right of the corridor is a row of clean and tidy glass windows, and at this moment, looking out, nothing but a white haze can be seen.

To the left of the corridor are rows and rows of classrooms, with desks and chairs neatly arranged, books and stationery haphazardly laid out on the desks, and unerased slates on the blackboards, as if one moment there were people in the classroom, and the next moment they had suddenly disappeared.

The corridor seems to be endless, with a constant repetition of scenes on either side, making Xiao Lan somewhat unsure of the passage of time for a while.

An odd mass of darkness appeared in the corner of an open classroom ahead, standing there silently. It was odd because there was nothing around to create a shadow, and the darkness showed no sign of being obscured in the white mist, as conspicuous as a dot of ink falling on white paper.

Luo, who had been quietly following Xiao Lan, suddenly spoke up, “Sir, that’s me.”

Xiao Lan turned around in surprise, weren’t you with me?

“I think it was part of my original one, I seem to …… have been split up a lot.” Luo’s tone wasn’t quite sure.

“Want to go and get it back?” Xiao Lan asked.

“Please stay here, I’ll just go ahead alone, I’m not sure that part of me will attack you.”

The black cat stepped out from Xiao Lan’s side and headed towards the black shadow. The black shadow seemed to have sensed it too and suddenly moved as if making a stance to prepare for an attack.

Luo tried to communicate with the black shadow, but it was completely irrational, and when Luo came within a metre or so of him, it attacked with a vengeance.

Sharp claws reached out from the black shadow and grabbed at the black cat, who was not far behind, dodging the claws with a swift dodge and taking the opportunity to bite hard at the main area of the shadow.

Only the claws seemed to materialise, and the body appeared to be a void, passing right through when it touched the surrounding objects, but a gaping hole appeared after Luo’s bite.

As if sensing the pain, it braced itself and lunged at Luo from above with greater speed, cutting them all off as its claws grazed the table and chairs.

The battle between the black shadow, almost half the height of the classroom, and a normal-sized black cat seemed extremely disparate in power. But the cat kept dodging under such fierce attacks, moving as fast as lightning, making it difficult for the shadow to attack him, while Luo always seized every opportunity to bite at its vapourless body.

The black shadow became weaker and weaker, and its original height became much shorter.

Finally, the black cat caught a gap and leapt straight up into mid-air, cutting off the black shadow’s sharp claws in one swift movement. The black shadow twisted and hissed silently, but was still irresistibly swallowed up by the black cat.

To be honest, that image was a bit appetising.

After a full meal, the black cat returned at a brisk pace and Luo seemed to be in a good mood: “I had you worried, sir.”

Xiao Lan said calmly, “It’s good that you’re okay.”

At the same time throwing away the bricks in his hand that he had just broken hard from the wall and ignoring the system’s prompts to destroy the scene.

However, picking a brick adds 0.1k to the poverty value if this corridor is all torn down ……

Xiao Lan pondered that he thought he might be dismantled by Gu Mo Sister Xiao first.

“You ate that big pile …… all right?” Xiao Lan asked.

“It’s okay, once I’ve digested it completely, I’ll be able to appear to you in human form.”

That’s something to look forward to, as Luo’s voice doesn’t sound like a dark skinned, bald man, does it? But what the hell is Luo? Is it possible to split oneself into three parts and have a landlord fight later on?

In the unseen fog ahead, the sound of someone speaking began to come from far away, creating an empty echo in the corridor.

Xiao Lan approaches.

Two men in police uniforms who could not see faces were questioning a short woman: ” Gu Mo was a classmate of yours, do you know what kind of person she usually is? Please tell us the truth about what you know about her.”

The short woman had a look of disdain on her face: “She’s just going around all day with her good looks.”

It was Du Yuhui, who was in an odd state, as if she didn’t feel the slightest thing wrong with the unrecognisable policeman in front of her and the white fog surrounding her, nor could she see Xiao Lan not far away.

“When was the last time you saw her?”

Du Yuhui thought for a moment and suddenly gave a hidden smile, “It was probably before dinner, I think she went out with a boy.”

“What kind of boys.”

Du Yuhui shrugged, “I don’t know, the boys around her are changing all the time. I’m telling you, Uncle Police, these people are very messy, everyone knows she must have run off with someone when she got pregnant, if you don’t believe me you can ask more people.”

“Thank you for your cooperation.”

After the questioning, the policeman walked off towards the fog and faded away.

Du Yuhui turned to the equally faceless students beside herself after the police had left and smiled, “You guys say Gu Mo hasn’t come back for so many days, she’s not dead, is she?”

The blurred face of the student next to him cracked open into a deep darkness, revealing a smile so exaggerated that it took up half his face and a stiff voice: “Dead-?”

Du Yuhui was oblivious: “Yes, her mother even came to the school to look for her, she looked so poor.

“Then–you–why–why–don’t you -not- say?”

“Why would I say that it’s only when she’s dead ……”

Du Yuhui finally realised that something was wrong around her and her expression instantly turned to one of panic as she took a giant step backwards and hit the door panel in one fell swoop.

The classmate with his mouth wide open staggered closer to her, no tongue at all in his hollow mouth but still making sounds, “Why–what– -”

“Get out of here!”

Du Yuhui is much more daring than Zhang Jie and runs away, not forgetting to give the faceless creature a kick before turning around.

The faceless student fell to the ground under the kick, and the body, like a plaster, shattered when it hit the ground. The broken pieces on the ground, however, were not incapacitated and still moved forward towards Du Yuhui without slowing down in any way.

“Ah…”

Du Yuhui ran only a few steps before her broken arm yanked her to the ground and she hit the ground so hard that she felt her whole skeleton coming apart.

It was only then that she suddenly noticed Xiao Lan, who had emerged from the white mist, and she hastily reached out her hand, “Help! Help me!!!”

Before Xiao Lan can say anything, the mobile phone in Du Yuhui’s bag rings.

Du Yuhui’s movements faltered suddenly, and she turned her head like a machine without oil, her small eyes widening to the peak size of her life as she stared dead at her phone.

The ringtone of her mobile phone is a popular song from ten years ago, the singer has long since passed away, not many people know it now, and she has not set it as a ringtone for her mobile phone at all.

But it was clearly – ten years ago – her ringtone!

Du Yuhui’s mouth dropped open incredulously, her hand! Her hand reached for her coat pocket uncontrollably and automatically at that moment.

“NO! No!!!” Tears came to the surface.

The hand, however, completely ignored her call, reaching into the pocket, grabbing the phone, pulling it out, and clicking answer in one fluid motion.

At Du Yuhui’s defiant look, her right hand lifted the phone up and forcefully brought it to her ear.

” Du Yuhui .” Gu Mo’s voice was gentle, as it had been before, and she spoke in a softer and softer voice, eventually turning into a nearly inaudible murmur.

“Du Yuhui burst out laughing, as if a hand had forced the corners of her mouth to lift, pulling her smile wider and wider. In contrast, her eyes were overflowing with fear, and her face was covered in unstoppable tears that mixed with snot to make an ugly paste on her face.

The two together are like a strange and comical puppet on a string, obviously full of fear but manipulated to perform a comical scene.

“Ha-ho-ha-ha-” Du Yuhui was on the verge of losing her breath as she finally laughed her purple face off when she stood up and walked uncontrollably on all fours towards the wall.

“Bang…”

“Bang…”

“Bang…”

She banged her head against the wall one by one, while letting out a laugh that was about to catch her breath, one after the other ……

Finally, no more movement.

In the next instant, Du Yuhui’s body disappeared into thin air, leaving the entire corridor clean, no blood, no scattered doll limbs, just a white mist.

The next moment Du Yuhui’s body disappeared, a rush of footsteps came from across the corridor, as if someone was running wildly, like an actor scheduled to appear on stage.

Xiao Lan looked up and saw that the person who had appeared in the mist was – Cheng Lang.

He was now devoid of the elite demeanour he had carried before, his neatly combed hair now soaked in sweat and piled haphazardly on his head, his well-tailored suit half-hanging on his body, dusty and with several more scuff marks on his face.

He had been running for a long time and was panting for breath when he looked up and saw Xiao Lan, who frightened him so much that he almost fell to the ground with his unsteady steps.

Cheng Lang leaves Zhang Jie behind and runs on, not daring to turn around when he hears any sound. He always felt that he was followed by footsteps, which disappeared when he stopped, as if they were attached to his body.

Such fear dared him not to relax at all, and he fought for every breath he could muster to move on. He kept his head buried the whole way, ignoring the changes in the landscape around him, only looking for a chance to live.

But how could this spa hotel be so big and how could it take so long to run out?

He finally came back to his senses and began to look around him, not realising that he was in such a familiar place – the high school campus, the place where all the nightmares began.

And standing in front of him is the guy who brought Gu Mo back to earth.

Why help that damned woman, she’s been dead for ten years, wouldn’t it be better to stay quiet, why did she have to come back, why did she have to disrupt his life.

Cheng Lang pointed at Xiao Lan, a mixture of anger and fear rendering him speechless.

Just then, the white mist around them slowly dispersed.

What appeared in front of Cheng Lang’s eyes was a downward staircase, a way out of the corridor that he couldn’t find by running before!

His exhausted face was filled with ecstasy and his body, which was on the verge of collapse, seemed to have renewed strength. Cheng Lang could no longer think about Xiao Lan in front of him, his only thought was to run, to get past the steps and get the hell out of here.

Cheng Lang took a big step up the steps, but it was not the hard touch of the ground that came from beneath his feet.

A violent falling sensation hit him and the oncoming wind blew back a little of his already crumbling sanity.

It was then that he realised where the steps were beneath his feet. He was falling rapidly, and what was approaching before him was clearly another piece of hard ground.

“No–” Cheng Lang’s final cry of surprise was drowned out by the loud crashing sound.

Gu Mo has not called him since the beginning, perhaps because there is nothing more to say.

Meanwhile, Fu Wenbo, dizzy from the mists, shudders at the prospect of a body falling from the sky.

Cheng Lang’s face, shattered and deformed by the fall, stared straight at him, the horror and disbelief that had preceded his death still lingering on it.

Fu Wenbo hunched his shoulders and looked upwards, only to see a snow-white ceiling above him, with no gaps for people to fall through, and Cheng Lang appearing as if out of nowhere.

The white mist around him churned up, obscuring his vision, and the overly dense vapour made him feel a little uncomfortable to breathe.

After the white mist cleared, Fu Wenbo froze.

He was back at the spa hotel, which was very quiet this time as it would be ten years later, but with much newer facilities, and this was – after Gu Mo’s accident!

He had heard that the Gu Mo incident had affected the business of the hotel when the police came to the hotel during this period and the owner simply closed the hotel temporarily to finish the renovations.

Fu Wenbo tugged at his camera bag. As a photographer, he would not give up his equipment even if it was the end of the world.

He was about to try to get out first, when there was an electric noise from a room next to him with the door closed.

It’s the kind of sound that only comes from a very old-fashioned TV when it’s switched on, and it was only heard at Fu Wenbo’s grandmother’s house when he was very young, and it didn’t come back to haunt him for a while.

He hesitated to push open the door, which was unlocked and opened automatically at the slightest touch of his hand, as if to welcome him.

An old television appears in front of you, the black and white screen slowly lights up and there it is – Fu Wenbo himself.

Like a shot taken by a lens planted in a hidden corner, the image is not of high quality, like a prying eye, staring at him silently in the shadows, greedy and shadowy.

Fu Wenbo searched the room with panicked eyes, but saw no place to put the camera.

His heart tightened as he understood that something was wrong, everything had been wrong since the black smoke had appeared in the corridor. Whether it was the white fog that suddenly filled the room, or the inexplicable appearance of the school, or this hotel in its closure, it all showed an unnatural force.

With the thought of Gu Mo on his mind, Fu Wenbo’s heartstrings tightened and he cautiously exited the room, the old television still dutifully playing all his moves.

He wanted to get out of here quickly, even if it meant seeing someone.

But the next thing he knew, every time he passed a room, the current of a television turning on would sound inside, each one monitoring his every move and spying on him in detail from every angle.

Front, side, back, full body, half body, close up of face, close up of eyes …… is incredibly detailed.

“Ho …… ho ……” Fu Wenbo ran up and as he did so, the closed rooms ceased to be reserved and they opened of their own accord, showing him the doors inside the television set that recorded his every move.

Something’s not right! Nothing is right! There aren’t even that many rooms in this hotel!!!

The corridors are long and endless, and together with the voyeuristic images constantly playing next to them, they form a nightmare that seems to never end.

“Gu, Gu Mo …… isn’t you!!! Isn’t it you!!!”

Fu Wenbo hissed frantically towards the corridor, remembering the young girl he had been secretly spying on with his camera, who was really pretty and always seduced him into looking a little more, a little more.

How could he be blamed for this? It was clearly this woman who wanted to look like this, who wanted to appear in front of his eyes.

“It’s not my fault …… it’s not my fault ……”

Exhausted, Fu Wenbo sat down in the corridor and backed up on his hands and knees, trying to get away from it all.

Suddenly he felt a furry object appear in his hand and turned his head to see a black cat that had been following a young man called Xiao Lan.

Ecstasy surged through him and he jerked back to see Xiao Lan sitting on a sofa in a room not far away, the young man sitting in a relaxed position that looked out of place in this eerie environment.

Fu Wenbo was too late to stand up and rolled towards Xiao Lan.

“Help! You help me!!! I’ve met a ghost!”

“That lady ghost at the hotel killed someone! You have friends killed by her too, right? Let’s escape together!”

Xiao Lan is still just staring at the television in front of him.

Fu Wenbo finally senses that something is wrong and looks in the direction of Xiao Lan’s eyes – it’s still Fu Wenbo’s surveillance! This man had been watching him all along!

Xiao Lan finally turned his head to look at him, “Is she good looking?”

Who she is referring to is self-explanatory

Fu Wenbo panicked: “She wore the dress herself on purpose to get me to take the picture!”

“Didn’t she pick that spot to shower just to be watched?!”

“I say …… are men, you can understand that can’t you ……”

Xiao Lan raised his eyebrows, “I don’t know, after all, there’s a difference between animals and humans.”

With that, Xiao Lan stood up and walked towards Fu Wenbo and, to his horror, mercilessly snatched his camera and smashed it. It was a cold and unreasonable demolition machine.

“Destroying a prop increases the poverty value by 179,000”

After smashing the camera, Xiao Lan gave a satisfied smile and was about to leave to give Gu Mo his home turf when Luo jumped up and ripped the jade off Fu Wenbo’s neck and brought it to him with a paw.

Xiao Lan, understanding the situation, reached out and crushed the jade with one hand.

“Destroying a prop increases the poverty value by 215,000”

When he heard the system alert, he looked at Fu Wenbo with a loving look in his eyes, like a hard-working old farmer looking at his family’s soon-to-be-farmed pigs.
