Popular High School Student has some Sweets

As expected, since it was around noon, there were some crowds in front of the restaurants. If I was alone I’d just go to the food court but since it is kind of a big deal for Misaki today, I will let her choose the place.

The place we are at right now is not the food area on the basement floor but an area on the first floor with a few restaurants.

“Misaki, what do you want to eat? The ones in the basement are fine too alright. I don’t mind if it’s around a 30 minute queue time.”

“Really!? Then I want to go to [Sweet Carnival]! I actually checked it out online before I came here and it seems that they have these super delicious pancakes! I wanted to go there with Onii-chan alone but Reika-san is welcome too!”

Misaki said that and pointed to a cutely decorated store that doesn’t look like a man has any business to be in.

The interior is visible from the outside since they have a glass wall. At least, it creates an atmosphere that seems more approachable than the bubble tea shops.

Surely, I would never visit a store like that alone and even if it’s Misaki who invites me I would put up some resistance.

However, with Eihashi-san here it doesn’t make the hurdle any less difficult to overcome. Moreover, Eihashi-san might be reluctant to enter this kind of store in the first place.

When I thought so, I glanced at Eihashi-san.

“…..three-tiered pancakes with maple syrup………they even have chocolate fondue…..!? I never knew such a place existed……”

……she’s totally in. Eihashi-san is exuding that girly atmosphere right now……I’d totally believe it if someone told me that she’s a regular here.

“D, Do you want to go in, Eihashi-san?”

“Yes! Absolutely, let’s go in! It seems that we will have to queue up but if the line is only this long then we won’t have to wait long at all! Right! Misaki-chan!”

“Un! I will go write my name on the reservation first okay!”

With Misaki writing her name on the reservation, it’s already confirmed that we are going to have lunch here. Well, it’s fine as long as they are happy.

With my passion for Churros, it’s not like I am against eating sweets so I kind of look forward to this a little.

There’s a sweet smell drifting from the store too so it’s really tempting.

“Nee, Nee, Reika-san! Do you have any delicious sweets stores here you want to recommend!?”

“Sweets Stores is it?”

“Yes! I love sweets so visiting a place like this is kind of a hobby for me!”

I remember eating a lot of sweets at the stalls near the park when I hung out with Misaki, we even got around to eating the oversized shaved ice that is only available in summer.

“I see……that’s a nice hobby. My recommendation would be the matcha ice cream from the shop on the second floor of the nearby department store. They let you pick the matcha intensity in five levels and the bitterness of matcha really blended well with the sweetness from the ice cream so it’s very delicious.”

“Ice cream!? That’s perfect for this season! I’m going to try it out with Onii-chan later!”

“Oi, Oi…….well, I do like matcha though.”

“By all means, I’d like Hiura-kun to try it as well.”

When we were talking about sweets stores, we were notified that the seat finally became available. And after receiving a brief explanation from the waiter, we finally opened the menu.

Excluding the pancakes that are the main selling point of this place, there were also rows of menus that could be classified as a meal as well.

“I guess I’m going with Chocolate ice cream pancake.”

“OOH! That sounds nice! Then I will go with the good old maple margarine pancake! I will have some of yours too okay, Onii-chan!”

“Sure. Eihashi-san which one do you want to order?”

“If you can’t decide then how about we share? I already promised to share mine with Misaki after all. One or two people really doesn’t make a difference anyway.”

“Y, yeah. Misaki, you are alright with that right?”

Besides, if we share ours, we will get to taste more of what this store has to offer. Honestly, I can’t find a reason why anyone would be against the idea.

It seems that everyone is on board with the idea so we decided to eat them all together. After that, we placed the order and waited.

Apparently, this place offers free chocolate fondue if we order pancakes so Eihashi-san’s eyes are gleaming right now. Still, she will treat it as a dessert and leave that for later after we have our pancakes.

I don’t know how she did not classify pancakes as dessert as well but Eihashi-san is fidgeting in anticipation so I don’t say anything.

If she wants to try the fondue that much then I think that she should just have one now though. When I thought so far, the waiter finally served us the pancakes. After the pre-meal ritual of taking a picture of their food, we each hold a knife and a fork in our hands.

By the way, I was the only one whose camera sound was audible. Perhaps they all have it on silence in their camera app.

“UWa! They look delicious!”

“They are! Then let’s…..Hauu……so delicious….”

Eihashi-san took a bite of the pancake with a beaming smile. Seeing that, I also cut a piece and brought it to my mouth.

“……it’s really good.”

“Yes! The sensation of the melting ice cream on top of the pancakes is really amazing!”

“I ordered a simple pancake but……..so this is the taste of a skilled city chef huh! I heard that this place was opened only recently though!”

Misaki is getting heated up by herself. Well, I think it was delicious enough to get excited about but she is the perfect contrast to Eihashi-san who is quietly enjoying hers.
