Chapter 29
It wasn’t only Lin Yi. Qin Zhou, Ou Ying and Luo Yi all started, realizing the implication.
But none of them spoke up to say ‘I’m hungry’. No one dared to take a single bite of those things on the table.
Maybe the entire reason the woman in red served them these things was to rush them to the main point.
“Since everyone has already had lunch, let’s begin.” The woman in red stood up, “Everyone, please follow me.”
Luo Yi also knew that because of his words, everyone missed the opportunity to mentally prepare themselves. He remedied, “Don’t you need to clean up here?”
Though these things on the table may be hard to swallow, cleaning up could still buy them time.
The woman in red stared at Luo Yi with a strange look and asked, “Why waste time on these trivial things?”
Luo Yi was stumped by her question.
Seeing that the woman in red was answering questions, Ou Ying asked, “What are we going to do next?”
Since they aren’t being given a chance to adjust, she decided to try and wheedle information out of her.
Knowing what’s coming next would also allow them to prepare themselves.
“Playing a game.” The woman in red said, “My friends, isn’t that what we came here for?”
“What game?” Qin Zhou asked.
The woman in red turned her palm upwards. In her palm was a die. “Everyone must participate, that’s what we agreed upon.”
Lin Yi glanced over and found that this die was different from an ordinary die which had six sides in total. The die in the woman’s palm was regularly cut into many sides.
Seemed like it was going to be a dice game; not some sinister game of death.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
The woman in red made to lead them out of the dining room. She stopped and looked down at the thing lying on the ground.
Lin Yi silently pulled the unconscious Cheng Yang back; Cheng Yang had been blocking her way.
Once Cheng Yang was out of the way, the woman in red led the way out.
The three senior members of the student union exchanged looks. There was no other way. If they wanted to leave the 2-6 Rule World, they had to find out the rule world’s main plot. Even if they knew that the game waiting for them wouldn’t be a fun one, they had no choice but to follow.
When Qin Zhou followed to go, he paused for a moment, looked at Lin Yi and then at Cheng Yang. Before Qin Zhou could frown, Lin Yi said, “Senior, I’ll wake him up right away.”
Lin Yi pinched Cheng Yang’s philtrum.
Seeing that Cheng Yang had signs of waking up, Qin Zhou followed the woman in red and went out.

Cheng Yang was also afraid of dragging Lin Yi down. So he gritted his teeth and stood up, no matter how weak his legs left.
They caught up with the group.
The woman in red took them back to the villa’s living room.
But at this time, most of the lights in the villa were turned off and the living room was very dark, with only one light on. The woman in red was standing under this beam of light and in front of her was a table half the height of a person.
Lin Yi recalled that when the were in the villa’s living room earlier, this table hadn’t been here.
The light at this time seemed to be restricted; it could only illuminate this one spot. The rest of the place was a black mass and nothing could be seen.
The face of the woman in red was even paler under the light. She gave a strange smile and said, “Everyone, sit wherever you like. The game is about to start.”
Although none of them could see anywhere, fortunately, when the 2-6 Rule World started, they had stayed in the living room for a long time. And so, they fumbled their way in complete darkness to sit.
Lin Yi’s night vision was excellent. He quietly poked and patted Cheng Yang behind him, motioning for him to follow. When he found a spot on the sofa, he slowly eased himself down, lest this long unused sofa make some noise and attract someone unfamiliar to sit with him.
After all, he saw that many of them had settled for sitting on the floor.
Although Lin Yi would have preferred to sit alone, who decided to make him the best teammate in the country?
After sitting down, Lin Yi heard Cheng Yang sitting down next to him. After Cheng Yang sat down, there was another sound of someone sitting down.
This person didn’t sit next to Cheng Yang, but next to Lin Yi.
Lin Yi turned his head to the left and said, “…Senior.”
“I don’t want to sit on the ground either.” Qin Zhou said, “These clothes are limited edition.”
Lin Yi: “…”
Qin Zhou tapped his head lightly, and commented, “You’re a selfish little genius.”
It seemed he had followed Lin Yi’s movements.

His actions exposed, Lin Yi couldn’t help being a little embarrassed. He coughed and was about to say something when the woman in red interrupted him.
Lin Yi had no choice but to keep silent, as he turned to look at the woman in red.
All of them could see the woman in red standing under the beam of light. They were all uneasily waiting for the game she had mentioned.
The woman in red gave no introduction about the game, directly cutting to the point: “You have come from all corners of the country, meeting for an adventure in this haunted villa.”
Lin Yi stared at the woman in red. With such few words, he couldn’t yet figure out how the game was to be played.
But what was certain was that the woman in red had arranged an identity for each of them.
Cheng Yang next to him was turning short of breath. His focus was obviously not on his identity but on the word ‘haunted’. Fearing that he would faint from fright once again, Cheng Yang put his hand over his own philtrum.
Cheng Yang felt the pinch mark on his philtrum and felt a little resentful. Lin Yi had been pretty ruthless.
The woman in red said, “Let us see if your journey will go well.”
After saying so, there was a ‘clang’.
It was the sound of the die being thrown on the table. After two or three turns, the sound stopped.
The woman in red said, “It seems it won’t be going well.”
“Let’s see why your trip won’t go well. Will one of you miss an appointment? Will one of you get lost? Or will something strange happen?”
There were two or three more ‘clang clang clang’.
The living room of the huge villa was so quiet that the mere sound of their breathing seemed noisy. The sound of the woman in red throwing the dice sounded like a curse. smoothly.”
Lin Yi looked at the woman in red. The table had a raised platform and they couldn’t see the specific numbers on the die. All they could see was the movement of the woman in red as she threw the die.
The woman in red said, “Then what strange thing will happen to disrupt your journey? Will one of you suddenly fall ill? Or will one of you unexpectedly pass away? Or could it be that something… ”
The woman in red grinned, “will appear among you?”
Clang’——
She threw the die again.
Lin Yi kept staring at the woman in red. Though she said they were going to play a game, none of their group of thirteen had any sort of participation.
This game was more like listening to a story — The woman in red simply kept talking and rolling the die.
“My God, something will appear among you!” Although the woman in red verbally expressed her surprise, her expression told a completely different story.
She was obviously very satisfied with the development of this story. She was so excited that she looked up at the crowd and asked, “But what could it be?”
“Some kind of animal? A lunatic? Or… a ghost?” When the woman in red mentioned the word ‘ghost’, her whole body became agitated. She threw the die more vigorously.
This time the ‘clang clang’ sound was louder and longer.
“Ahhh.” The woman in red lowered her head to check the number. Her eyes widened. “It’s a ghost! What will appear among you is a ghost.”
Her voice made some people feel uncomfortable but although they were nervous, the woman in red hadn’t caused them any actual harm and so, they still managed to persist in listening to this story that had now developed into a ghost story.
‘Creak’——
There was the very soft sound of the door being pushed open. It was so soft that Lin Yi thought it might have been his imagination. He followed the sound and looked towards the main door of the villa to confirm whether the sound was really just an auditory hallucination.
In the darkness, he saw that the main door was ever so slightly ajar.
But Lin Yi hadn’t been the last person to enter the villa. That was Cheng Yang. He didn’t know whether the crack in the door was because Cheng Yang didn’t close the door securely or if something really had pushed the door in.
Lin Yi asked Cheng Yang, “Cheng Yang Xiong, did you close the door when you came in?”
Cheng Yang shook his head.
Lin Yi breathed a sigh of relief/ “You didn’t”
Cheng Yang shook his head again.
Lin Yi paused for a moment, then said quietly, “You don’t remember.”
Cheng Yang nodded. He then looked at Lin Yi and the pretend-mute silently asked what was wrong.
Afraid of scaring Cheng Yang to the point of fainting once again, Lin Yi thought for a while and said, “It’s nothing. Try distracting yourself from the fear. For example, think about your crab pancakes.”
Cheng Yang tried it.
After finishing this conversation with Cheng Yang, Lin Yi looked at the main door while thinking about Cheng Yang’s crab pancakes. It was a very narrow door gap, so narrow that even a fat mosquitoes could get stuck. Nothing could have come in and the things that could come through this narrow slit wouldn’t need this gap to get in in the first place.
“What?” Qin Zhou noticed Lin Yi turning his head.
Lin Yi turned his head back. Judging from Qin Zhou’s words, Qin Zhou hadn’t heard the ‘creak’. So he said, “No, my neck is just a little sore.”
The woman in red was still throwing the die. “It turns out that the ghost followed you here. So, how many ghosts are there?”
The woman in red didn’t set her own answer to this question.
They heard the turning of the die — ‘clang’, ‘clang’, and ‘clang’. It seemed that the answer would be related to the number of points from the die throw.
“One……”
The expression of the woman in red sank. Unsatisfied with the number, she rolled again, “This is the number of ghosts that came to this haunted villa with you but how many were already here in this haunted villa…”
clang’——
The expression of the woman in red didn’t change for the better. The points still didn’t satisfy her. “There were already two ghosts in this haunted villa. Now, there are three ghosts in total…”
The woman in red raised her head and said sullenly, “amongst you.”
