One second, the lights in the second floor corridor flickered violently; the next second, they went out. In the darkness, three figures silently materialized in the corridor.

They didn’t communicate with each other. Just like in the Anke story, each attended to their own business.

They walked silently in the corridor and each stopped outside a certain room.

Lin Yi glanced at the door of the room. Seeing that Lin Yi had paused in his mantra, Ou Ying, dazed by the brainwashing, said, “Let’s take turns. I’ll sleep for a while and you wake me up later.”

Lin Yi stared at the door, looking at the extra pair of feet protruding from the bottom of the door: “…OK.”

Ou Ying closed her eyes. “Remember to wake me up.”

Ou Ying had no memory of Lin Yi’s answer. She just felt a little cold and subconsciously wrapped the quilt tighter, “Lin Yi, are you cold?… If it’s cold…”

“Xue Jie, I’m not cold.” After the feet under the door disappeared, Lin Yi turned his head. He looked at the thermometer hanging on the clothes rack. The red line on the scale of the thermometer kept falling until it reached the bottom. The red thread that expanded and contracted with the temperature seemed to have completely disappeared.

The temperature in the room suddenly seemed to drop to freezing point. The gloomy cold pressed down on Lin Yi like a gigantic weight. It made Lin Yi think of that thing he’d found lying on his back earlier that day.

Lin Yi turned to look at the full-length mirror in the room again. Facing the bed, the location of the mirror was a complete taboo in Feng Shui.

Because they still didn’t know the rules of death, Lin Yi and Ou Ying had decided not to move the mirror.

Looking at the mirror from out the corner of his eye, Lin Yi decided to forget about it and stop torturing himself.

He lowered his head and continued his own brainwashing, trying to ignore the coldness on his back.

The thing lying on Lin Yi’s back waited for a while and then slowly vanished.

It left and reappeared in the hallway. There were already screams coming from the room where its other two companions had entered. It turned its head towards the screams but turned back around after a while, continuing on to the next room.

Walking to the next room, it stopped and listened quietly to the movements in the room.

Gao Xu: “Who cares about you, hurry up and take off your clothes and give them to me.”

Ye Qiong trembled and said, “It’s no use taking it off for you.”

Gao Xu: “You…”

Gao Xu was about to threaten him when he felt Ye Qiong’s trembling — the whole bed was shaking because of Ye Qiong’s trembling.

Gao Xu’s voice was hoarse: “What are you shaking for?”

Ye Qiong pointed to the bottom of the door with a trembling finger.

Glancing over, a lump lodged itself in Gao Xu’s throat.

A pair of pale feet was visible through the crack of the door.

Gao Xu’s heart skipped a beat but when he blinked again, the feet were gone.

“Ye Qiong, it…it seems to be gone.” Gao Xu didn’t say so with any guarantee. Ye Qiong curled up and trembled all over. He didn’t dare say a word let alone respond to Gao Xu.

“Go and see if it’s gone.” Gao Xu kicked Ye Qiong off the bed. After the ‘bam’ sound of him falling off, the room fell silent.

Gao Xu didn’t hear Ye Qiong’s cry of pain; nor did he see Ye Qiong get up.

“Ye Qiong.” Gao Xu called out hesistantly but Ye Qiong gave no answer.

Now Gao Xu’s body couldn’t help shaking and he called out again, “Ye Qiong, you motherf*cker. Enough with your tricks or I’m gonna make you eat my fist!”

There was no response from below the bed. Gao Xu had no choice but to lean over to see how Ye Qiong was doing.

Ye Qiong must have hit the floor head first when he was kicked off the bed. Aready frightened to begin with, he completely passed out.

Gao Xu withdrew his hand that he’d used to check Ye Qiong’s nose for breathing. After confirming that Ye Qiong wasn’t dead, he cursed, “What are you? Made of out paper? You pass out with a simple kick?”

The temperature in the room is getting lower and lower. Even though Gao Xu had monopolized the quilt, it was still cold. He jumped out of bed to take off Ye Qiong’s clothes, ready to take them and wear them himself.

It was too cold; too gloomy and cold. Gao Xu couldn’t stand it.

He tore off Ye Qiong in a hurry and put them over his own. Just as he was about to take the quilt from the bed and wrap it around himself again, Gao Xu’s body suddenly froze.

His teeth began to chatter uncontrollably. ‘Da da da da’. The sound of his upper and lower teeth clacking against each other filled the room.

Reflecting on the bedside mirror, he saw himself and the woman lying on his back.

He watched in the mirror as the disheveled woman slowly raised her head. A lifeless face was reflected in the mirror and this face was slowly pressed against Gao Xu’s ear, pressed so very close to him.

Gao Xu heard pour the question into his ear.

He nodded frantically. “Yes, yes, yes. Don’t kill me, please don’t kill me.”

However, after Gao Xu’s reply, blood begun to stream from the woman’s eyes. She raised her arms above Gao Xu’s head. Posture all strange and twisted, she grabbed Gao Xu’s head and squeezed.

“Ahhhhhh—” Gao Xu saw his head explode with his own eyes.

Obviously, Gao Xu’s answer hadn’t satisfied her.

As what seemed like an age, the first night in the 2-6 Rule World finally passed.

After waking up, Ou Ying saw Lin Yi standing by the bed staring at the door, she got up quickly. “Lin Yi, why didn’t you wake me up last night?”

Lin Yi turned to look at Ou Ying. “Xue Jie, I forgot.”

“Thank you.” How could Ou Ying possibly believe that? She knew that Lin Yi deliberately let her sleep through the night. She said, “Did something happen last night? Why have you been standing by the door all this time?”

Lin Yi said, “In the 7-7 Rule World, Seniors knocked on my door every morning to confirm my safety.”

“But it’s been quite some time since daybreak…” Lin Yi said, “Senior didn’t come.”

Ou Ying’s heart tightened: “Could something have happened?”

Lin Yi didn’t say a word. Last night, he heard three screams. One from He Yi, one from Zeng Jing and the last one from Gao Xu.

Ou Ying said, “Let’s go and have a look.”

Lin Yi: “Okay.”

Opening the door, the two quickly headed to Qin Zhou’s room. The closer Lin Yi got to Qin Zhou’s room, the heavier his heart sank. Their room smelled so strongly of blood it was hard to ignore.
