Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Beginning

All I did was go out to play, "What did I ever do wrong?? Why, why, why me?!!. it's not fair.... Mum, dad, please wake up!" On my knees I sobbed as I watched from afar at my parent's- laying in a pool of their own blood.

The day had been lovely, just like any normal day for me, but who would have known that it was the beginning of my suffering.

Mum, dad, and I were in the castle in the kingdom of Asteria. 

Asteria is a floating kingdom in the skies filled with peace and joy. Everyone in the kingdom was happy now that the war against other kingdoms had ended. Thanks to a new King, my father, peace had been restored. 

Mum gave birth to two little twins; one was Aurianna and the other Leyla. Aurianna had a pair of bright blue eyes along with lovely blue hair with fair skin, while Leyla had red flaming hair with bright blue eyes similar to Aurianna’s but with beautiful dark skin.

The two looked so small and fragile. I was watching them as they slept and couldn’t help but notice a white glass stuck to both of their chests.

"Mum, what is that on their chest?" I questioned, unable to hide the confusion on my face. 

"My dear child, that is a diamond, a gem. The proof of you girls being the next generation of goddesses," she answered with a sweet smile.

"Umm, mum, what does that mean?" I stared blankly. 

 ‘Mum is pretty, so staring at her was kind of a usual thing, she's extremely beautiful. I'm going to be as beautiful as her when I grow up.’ I thought to myself as I looked at her beautiful long black hair and her smooth and crystal-like dark skin and her shiny black eyes.

"You also have one," She pointed at my chest.

I looked down at my chest, seeing a faint glow underneath my shirt, “Oh!! That’s right! This gem has stuck to my chest since I was a baby." I paused a moment before pointing at it, "What is it?”

"It's a black Diamond gem," She replied again. 

I looked down at my chest before looking back at mum, "How come mine is black though??"

Giving a sigh, she said, "This conversation wouldn't be understood if you keep asking me so many questions, dear." She laughs, "Well then let me tell you about a lovely fairytale about Diamonds."

“A long time ago there were ancient beings called Diamonds. They had powers that were able to match that of an Arch god. Arch God’s were beings created at the beginning of all life, they’re still believed to exist to this day.”

My eyes lit up as she started the tale, "Wow so cool!!!"

“Yes!! They were the siblings of a great Divine Deity. There were the twelve elite diamonds that held different types of powers to control universes.

The White Diamond of Light and Peace, 

The Yellow Diamond of Lightning, 

The Red Diamond of Wrath and Fire,

The Blue Diamond of Sadness and Seas,

The Orange Diamond of Flames and Passion, 

The Violet Diamond of Glory, 

The Gray Diamond of Revolution and Knowledge,

The Green Diamond of Life and Salvation,

The Pink Diamonds of Purity and Protection, 

And lastly The Purple Diamond of Creation.”

I looked at mum, starry eyed by all the information I just learned. 

“There were also evil goddesses like the Black Diamond of chaos and calamity, and the Black Diamond's rival the Golden Diamond of all Elements.

These beings supported the foundation of Creation and the different Dimensions that held all kinds of lesser gods, which they ruled over to make sure no one disobeyed the laws of the gods.

After the Diamonds above there were lesser Diamonds, but we'll talk about them later as the story continues. For now let's keep them as a mystery.

Even though these diamonds were supposed to help one another, they never got along with each other.

The White Diamond of Light, was a beautiful Diamond Goddess having lovely long white eyelashes, long crystal white hair and white skin, slim in posture, with lovely small lips and sparkly white eyes. Her most prominent feature being a Diamond crest in her pupils, she’d often be seen wearing an evening gown.

Her best trait was her being a smart and wise Diamond who always fulfilled her duties. 

However her worst trait would’ve been her selfish habit of looking down on others. 

That habit was the single biggest reason she wasn't allowed to inherit the position given by The Great Deity to lead the rest of the Diamonds and lesser gods and beings.

On the other hand, Purple Diamond inherited the position called the Divine Ruler.

White was then Jealous of her sister, the Purple Diamond. Any questions so far?”

I smirked eagerly, “No, no, please finish. But maybe just address them by their colors so the story can speed up?”

“Very well. So, Purple was a lovely young girl with purple sparkly eyes that made you lose yourself when looking in them too long. She had long eyelashes, beautiful curly long hair and lovely dark skin and she had a dignified air about her, one that made her seem like a wise Queen.

Purple always made wise decisions that would benefit both the Diamonds and the other beings, so that they would all be able to live in harmony.

White was secretly Jealous of Purple's powers and Purple herself.

Everyone praised Purple Diamond for every little thing she did and all the angels loved her. 

White, couldn’t stand this, and that nagging annoyance grew and grew as time went on. Until it would eventually reach its boiling point.

Despite all the tasks and duties that White completed by herself, she felt useless because even though she completed her work and helped so many people, she was never acknowledged nor were her accomplishments praised.

'Purple was just an insignificant and dumb brat who does nothing.' That's what White constantly thought to herself about Purple. 

"Why her and not me? I'm the Diamond of light; I Should be the one they all love! I hate her, I hate her for being better than me, I hate her for being the Leader of all the gods, I wanted that position, I worked harder than her for that position. They should have chosen me!! …I'll never forgive her for what she has done. I'll make her regret stealing what was mine!!." 

Hatred grew deeply inside White's heart. She couldn’t believe that after all she had done for the Diamonds, that was how they’d repay her. By giving the position that all knew she wanted more than anything to someone else; her sister of all people too! 

At this point you may have expected White to think of killing her sister, but no! As the Diamond of Peace she is unable to kill the diamonds because of her affinity PEACE.

Diamonds had the ability to share their affinity, but the Purple Diamond never showed them how to use her powers, because if Creation fell in the wrong hands it could lead to disaster. 

The White Diamond was filled with greed for power.

She wanted the power that was never heard of, she wanted to be above all of them. She didn’t understand why her sister was chosen to rule over them. 

Purple was a peaceful ruler who loved all beings, both demons, angels, other races and humans. 

She didn’t force them to worship the Diamonds, instead letting them have their own beliefs and ways of life. 

Eventually White became so pent up and aggravated that she couldn’t take it anymore. 

She had always lived with the mindset that humans and the other beings were lesser than them and were supposed to be ruled strictly under the heel of the Diamonds.

She believed her sister’s actions and lax watching over the other beings to be foolish. 

The reason why White believed Purple was a fool was because as they were up in the heavens, she looked at the Worlds down below to see if there was anything interesting. 

She watched as the lesser beings mocked the Diamonds for being foolish, for not enforcing rules on them, and how they freely got whatever they wanted from Purple when they asked for it. White became furious by their words.

They had no respect for those who created them but always came to the Diamonds when they needed something. 

They sought out things like money, powers, healing and when there were no resources like water or food and so much more.

It started with minor deeds getting granted but eventually started leading to bigger requests.

There was a day a strange human asked the Purple Diamond for immortality and she granted it to him no questions asked.

White was furious with Purple’s foolish act of kindness and couldn't take it anymore. 

Pure Rage slowly grew deep inside of her, but she held herself back, since she was the Diamond of Peace. 

It was an agonizing experience. 

It was like she was at war with herself, her true nature getting pitted against her duties as the Diamond of Peace.

One day as White went to the enchanted library which was a grand and majestic place stuffed with endless records and books. The walls were made of clusters of stars and the books were filled with high knowledge and endless magic. The library was filled with such fragrant and enticing smells that gave it a very relaxing air. 

She went to the enchanted library in search of the heavenly records, which were books containing info about all creations, beings, and about the life and death of others and their history. 

White would always go there to relax herself when she was highly stressed.

After searching for a while, she took all the records she needed and sat down on her favorite white chair made of comfortable clouds with bright and colorful crystals with a purple energy ball above her.

As she read quietly in the endless halls of books, she saw the Black Diamond from a meter away staring at her.

Black Diamond was a goddess who didn’t like to partake in other matters. 

She was someone who was always doing nothing and was given the joking title, The Lazy Goddess. 

She barely did any of her tasks assigned to her and always disappeared when she was needed.

Her laziness wasn't her only flaw, because the other Diamonds tended to stay away from her due to her chaotic aura. 

All those who would go near would be affected by her chaotic aura which would make them go mad. Some would instantly lose their minds while others would have less and less tolerance the more they stayed near her.

Black Diamond had long black silky hair, angelic black wings, and a fair but slightly wicked appearance, her beautiful long legs which added on to her intimidation factor, lastly she possessed a pair of bright and intelligent black eyes with a Diamond crest in her pupils paired up with her beautiful smooth dark skin. 

"Oh my dearest White," Black Diamond snickered as she came walking up to her.

"What do you want? Just get to the point," White Diamond scoffed at Black looking annoyed, "I know you don't talk to anyone unless you have reasons."

"Oh my, how rude!!, all I want to do is talk to my dearest sister," Black Diamond mumbled with a fake cry attempting to appear pitiful.

‘Nothing good happens once Black is around. I should better stay away from her so that her Dark Aura doesn't affect me,’ White Diamond thought to herself. 

White then got up and quickly teleported to the complete opposite side of the library. her books in hand.

"Finally peace and quiet," she said, smiling as no one was to be seen.

The enchanted library wasn’t your average library. For one It's almost as big as the space people occupy on earth and even expands as more knowledge is brought there. Also its usage was usually exclusive to the Diamonds.

Before White could finish the second page of the book she spotted Black Diamond staring at her once again from one of the floating library shelves, her eyes were dark.

‘Uggh!! I can never tell what a Diamond like her is thinking.’ White thought to herself, as angry veins popped up on her forehead.

"What do you want Black!? Make it quick, I don't have time for you as you can see I'm busy."

"Oh well, do you know that when a Diamond kills a Diamond they can inherit the title of the dead one? I am not saying anything wrong, but if you kill the Diamond of Creation which is Purple Diamond you might inherit her title and rule over all the Diamonds," Black stated with a smirk on her face.

"What is your goal?" asked White with a frown. ‘I don’t know what she’s plotting. Of course I knew if you killed a diamond you’d get their title but that’s taboo,’ White thought to herself heavily.

"Nothing really. I just love these kinds of things you guys do, so bye." Black laughed as she disappeared into the mist.

After Black was out of sight White scoffed, attempting to go back to reading but then.

As White looked down she noticed a Dark red Aura appear on her body- it was a curse. 

Before she could fully realize this however, her thoughts started getting altered. 

She smiled, "Maybe this was what I felt like doing all this time actually. If I kill Purple Diamond then I could finally be the ruler over them all! I would be the most powerful amongst all the races. I could even be the ruler of all dimensions."

The dark aura surrounding White whispered to her, “Yes. You would be the ruler; You would become all-powerful, all you need to do is kill all your pesky siblings and take their Diamonds to become yours." 

White laughed with a crooked smile as she left to research more about all her sisters and brothers' weaknesses.

As White did so, Black Diamond was observing White from across the library, smirking deviously during the whole interaction. 

"Don't worry White Diamond, your dearest sister will support you," she said with a twisted grin. "All you needed was a little push,” she stretched out her hand.

"It seems Dark corruption still works after all." A dark aura manifested on her hand in the shape of a crystal. It was the curse that had altered White’s mind. 

"I guess I have to remove traces of the corruption," she chuckled and with a swipe of her hand, the corruption could not be seen visibly anymore. 

[ Dark corruption: A spell that causes madness for those who are exposed to it would not be in their right senses, which makes them do irrational things. It's a spell that Black Diamond can use to control people. Its prowess was enough to manipulate even Diamonds who generally have high resistance to mind control.]

"I would like to see how the Diamond world falls, such wonderful and spicy entertainment.” She paused, "This may be a good way to get rid of that pesky Golden Diamond," Black Diamond giggled while holding an evil smile. 

With her plan being in motion, Black simply disappeared into the shadows.
