Chapter 20— Naming
What kind of name would you like?
I think while looking at the Familiar that has grown.
I'm not proud of it, but I can’t say that my naming sense is very good.
I want to give it a decent name at least.
With that in mind, I think that something like the name dictionary (I think) that Father Paul had would be very helpful.
An animal with a horned horse-like body.
That is a simple representation of my Familiar.
Is the name that comes to mind a unicorn?
However, I think that the unicorn was characterized by a single horn and one that has a long, straight point.
This guy has two horns and they aren’t straight, so I don't think it's very unicorn-like.
The one-horned beast was a unicorn, but was the two-horned beast a bicorn? (TLN: The questions in life.)
I try to think of a name that is unique with that as a hint, but I can't think of much.
Therefore, I imagine a game character with association with the Familiar’s features.
Bicorn ... By ... Viking ... Viking ...
Va ... Va ... Va ...
...... Valkyrie.
What about Valkyrie?
It is a word that refers to the war goddess that appears in mythology.
The familiar has white hair all over its body, and when it is exposed to sunlight, it shines brilliantly and looks silver.
Perhaps because of that, it looks like a sacred creature.
Isn't it pretty good?
"How about your name, Valkyrie?"
"Kui!"
When I asked my Familiar, he shook his head vertically while looking at me and replied.
It's a smart guy.
It may have some understanding of this language.
I don't really hate this name, so let's do this.
"Okay, then I'll start the naming ceremony."
With that said, I named the Familiar.

I sat my Familiar in front of me and stood in front of it.

Then, the magic circle learned by the magic of [Memory Preservation] comes to mind.
Recently, it has become possible to do it as naturally as if breathing to use magic, but this time I will do it carefully and delicately.
I close my eyes and take deep breaths many times to take in the magical power that floats in the atmosphere into my body and knead it firmly with my own magical power around my abdomen.
While breathing deeply with Suha, I am conscious of increasing the concentration of magical power. (TLN: Sorry to interrupt, but all of the sound effects will be in italics.)
The magical power created in this way was spread throughout my body, and that magical power filled the vessel called Ars, me, with magical power.
Then, while maintaining that state, I slowly move the magical power into my hand.
Instead of just collecting it in my hand, I concentrated all of my magical power on the index finger of my right hand.
The magical power collected in this way is gradually released to the outside of my body.
However, I am conscious of letting the magical power stay there, not just exerting magical power to the outside world.
This is more difficult than I expected.
It seems that the magical power will be scattered in a blink of an eye if I lose just a bit of it.
Sweat comes out from my whole body.
This is the point of concentration.
I exhaled and moved on to the next process.
The magical power from my fingertips is made into a thread, and I move it to draw a magic circle.
I can feel that the blood is rushing so much towards my head that it seems as if my brain is about to burst.
This is because the load is much heavier than when moving magical power inside my body.
But I shouldn’t rush.
I reproduce the magic circle as I remembered without any difference in shapes, sizes, etc..
How long did it take?
My whole body is already sweaty and my throat is parched.
However, due to such hardships, I succeeded in creating a magic circle.
But, my limit is already near.
I tried to squeeze the last of my power and told the Familiar.
"Name, your name is Valkyrie from now on."
When I said that, the magic circle’s brightness drawn from my fingertips immediately subsided.
And the next moment, the magic circle disappeared into the void.
I'm out of breath with Zeher and kneel to the floor.
The burden was heavier than I expected.
If this fails, I won't be able to do it again with my current strength.
After waiting for a while to catch my breath, I decided to see if Valkyrie's naming was successful.
