Difficulties in Love 2
“Um, Alvin-sama, this is…”
“Get away from Nina, Dirk.”
I cringed at Alvin-sama’s voice low and cold voice.
His hand was on the hilt of his sword, and I hurriedly called out Alvin-sama’s name.
“What is it, Nina?”
Then Alvin-sama replied with a gentle voice and smiled, as if he was a different person than he was a few seconds ago. I was afraid of the contrast.
“This is a misunderstanding.”
“Heh, Nina is covering for Dirk? I guess it’s only natural since she lets him in the house while I’m gone and you’re both touching each other.”
“I’m not trying to cover for him or anything like that. Really.”
Although he was smiling, I could see that he was quite angry.
“My hair got tangled up and it ended up like this…”
When I appealed to him that we were also in trouble because of this sticky situation and pointed to the part where my hair was tangled and explained, Alvin-sama raised his eyebrows.
“Any reason why you would get so close that your hair is tangled?”
“Uh, it’s because─”
“Because I hugged Nina.”
“Ha?”
The temperature in the room dropped so quickly that it seemed as if the room had been turned into a refrigerator. Why would Dirk say things that added fuel to the fire?
“But this is just a confirmatory hug of friendship!”
“It’s not.”
“Eh?”
“I didn’t hug you with that intention.”
“Do you want to die?”
Once again, my desperate follow-up came to naught. I really wanted to ask, what was Dirk saying? Alvin-sama was about to pull out his sword at any moment, and I couldn’t stop sweating.
Anyway, it was awkward and uncomfortable for me to be pushed down by Dirk like this.
So, I tried to remove my hair, but it was really tangled up with the buttons. I didn’t care that much about my hair, so I decided to cut it off quickly.
“Dirk, I’m sorry. I’m going to cut my hair with wind magic, so please stay still for a bit.”
“No.”
“That’s not good.”
But for some reason, they stopped me from cutting my hair.
“Nina, would you mind closing your eyes for a moment? I can’t cut off your beautiful hair, so I’m going to cut off his torso. Just wait a moment.”
“Please let me cut my hair.”
From Alvin-sama’s lips came those dreaded words. It wasn’t funny at all.
In the end, I cut off my own hair without hesitation and was finally able to get up with Dirk.
“Dirk, remove Nina’s hair from your clothes and give it to me.”
“Eh?”
“I don’t know what this guy would use it for.”
“You’re the one who’s going to do something strange if I give it to you.”
“…..?”
I didn’t think my hair had any use.
I didn’t understand anything, but I didn’t want either of them to have it, so I gently removed it and then collected it.
“Nina, come here.”
This time, Alvin-sama pulled my arm and hugged me. Then, he gave Dirk a cold look.

“Why are you here?”
“I’m here to return the shoes to Nina, just like I promised.”
“When did you find out about her?”
“I don’t have to answer to you.”
The atmosphere couldn’t have been more tense, but I didn’t want two of my dearest friends to get into a fight because of me.
For now, it would be better to have Alvin-sama calm down first and talk to Dirk again at a later date.
“Dirk is not at fault. For now, let’s─”
“You’re hiding something from me, aren’t you? Did you want to see Dirk behind my back that badly?”
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, but I did hide my identity, and it wasn’t just Dirk, Lara also─”
“Ah, so he didn’t notice anything. She was the one behind the perfectly restored wards and the sleeping guards, wasn’t she?”
By explaining that Lara was with him, Alvin-sama seemed to understand why Dirk was able to come this far.
“Where is Lara?”
“She went to the forest to search for her missing familiar…. She came to the forest the other day for that same reason and ended up here.”
“Is that so? I was too lax in managing the situation because I didn’t want Nina to feel too cramped. I’ll be more careful from now on.”
Alvin-sama said that and hugged my shoulders tightly. Dirk quietly called his name.
“You were hiding Nina’s existence.”
“No, I─”
“That’s right. I don’t want Nina to have to worry about anything else.”
“You just want to monopolize her.”
“Alvin-sama is─”
“Even Nina agreed with me. It has nothing to do with you.”
I wasn’t allowed to interfere at all. Two years ago, the two weren’t on such bad terms. It made me sad to think it might be because of my return.
In the midst of all this, the front door opened again with a loud bang.
“I’m back~ I finally found him! Oh, Alvin’s here, too. What’s going on here?”
Lara’s cheerful voice echoed through the house, seemingly out of proportion with the atmosphere. On her shoulder was a small dragon-like creature. It must be her familiar.
“…. Lara.”
“I won’t apologize. Alvin hid Nina even from me, so I’m mad at you too.”
When she said this plainly to Alvin-sama, Lara snorted. She went straight to Dirk and easily wrapped her arms around him.
“Well, I’ll take Dirk back with me for now.”
“You do that.”
“But I’ll be seeing Nina in the future. See you later, Nina.”
“All right. Oh, Dirk, thank you for the shoes!”
“…. Yeah.”
Lara pulled Dirk’s arm with a small smile and walked away. I tried to see them off to the front door, but Alvin-sama grabbed my arm as if to tell me not to go.
Eventually, the door closed and it was just the two of us. When I looked up at Alvin-sama, he had a face like a sulking child.
I was taken aback by his expression.
“…. Shall we go home?”
“Y-Yes.”
Alvin-sama took my hand and headed towards Cheryl, who was quietly sitting on the carpet. I guess we were all going to return to the royal castle.
“….”
“….”
There was no anger or blame, but the heavy silence continued, and I felt restless. My body was wrapped in a floating sense due to teleportation magic, and my field of vision was filled with blinding light.
Eventually, things settled down and when I opened my eyes, I was on the bed in Alvin-sama’s private room. Why?
