Once Alaine-san made up her decision, she’d carry it out immediately. She acted at a ridiculously fast speed. 

I backed away. Going on a trip with me meant she needed to quit the knight. She didn’t even waver upon making that decision. All of a sudden, she already pulverized the furniture in her room into fine powder and shoved them into a bag. She said it was easier to throw it out like this. 

…… Just why did she break the furniture into fine powder? Well, I can also do it myself. 

The next morning. Without hesitating in the slightest, she went to the Minister of National Defense, who was in charge of the knight, to hand over her sword and armor which was proof of her position as the captain of the knight. 

“……….. Huh?”

“I’ve resigned from my position as the captain of the knight. Well now…”

“……….Huh?”

The Minister of National Defense was dumbfounded. It was clear to see from his face that he didn’t understand what was going on here. I could sympathize with his heart. 

Well, there’s nothing I can do here though.

Alaine-san must’ve heard him but she didn’t even turn around or came back to the room. The only ones left in the room were me and the Minister of National Defense. 

“Thi-This is….?”

The Minister of National Defense looked at me, imploring me but I couldn’t meet up with his expectations. 

“My-My apologies. I-I’m also resigning from the knight.”

I was basically kicking an already dead corpse.

All knights except the captain received the same armor. I had already returned my armor to the knight too.

“Hm. I see….”

“Yeah. Then let’s go to the weapon shop first. We will go to the adventurers’ guild after that.”

Me and Alaine-san left the imperial castle and went out to the town. Ah, when we came to the weapon shop, Alaine-san bought a sword and armor while I bought throwing knives and smokescreen. I bought interesting things that piqued my interest.
