The hero, Guren Alphonse, who was just an ordinary boy who dreamt of living peacefully that was randomly appointed as a hero.

"Why?"

I clutched my head while sitting on a luxurious bed in one of the room in the royal palace that was assigned to me.

A month ago the emperor suddenly announced the marriage between Ilya and Elliot out of nowhere. I was shocked silly at this announcement, why you ask?

It's because I have been steadily deepening my relationship with Ilya in our journey!

I have used all opportunities that presented to me to try and build a relationship with her! I even act like the righteous and kind hero filled with sense of justice all this time just so she would fall for me!

Sure, I or her have never confessed to each other but suddenly announcing her marriage, not to mention with your best friend at that, isn't it just ridiculous !? 

When I save a group of female elves from a slave trader or when I was escaped together with a vampire girl from a dungeon after getting caught up In a teleportation trap, I keep my heart and stayed loyal to her.

Even when I found out that the demon king is actually a cute girl with bombastic figure, I still beheaded her without hesitation because I thought we were going to start our relationship after going back home!

And the worst part is, all 5 of us have been getting along all this time. If I suddenly make a fuss about this marriage and calling any of them with 'colorful words', my reputation will collapsed!

"Shit! How did this happen!?"

The only saving grace is that we haven't actually going out yet, so the damage to my heart is not so devastating and I recovered somewhat after a month.

In the first place, I was just a normal good looking kid minding his own bussiness when suddenly a bunch of knights come to my house and declared me as a hero.

After that, I started my gruesome training from dawn to dusk, the only thing that keep me going is the fact that I have a luxurious lifestyle and the possibility that the princess can be my girlfriend.

But being the coward that I am, I just can't bring myself to take that next step. Even after countless embarassing lines that I spouted during the last 3 years, I just can't bring myself to say the word "I love you".

If it's a light novel or manga from my previous life, someone like me will already have a bunch of women who fall for me even If I don't deliberately chase any of them. But reality are really suck, I can't even got the one and only woman I chased all this time.

After letting out a long sigh, someone knocked on the door.

"Enter."

After I gave my permission Yuris entered the room, wearing her signature saint robe that covered almost her entire body and a veil that covered half of her face, even her hands are covered with white linen gloves. The only visible part of her body are only here feet, neck, and her mouth. 

Her appearance are the perfect image of a holy maiden, not like some saint from some kind of fiction that wear a clothes that obviously filled with a man's hope and dreams. Even I only have seen her bare face only about 6 times since the first time we met, and most of them are just coincidences.

"Yuris? What are you doing here?"

Wearing the same faint smile that she has all the time, she walks towards me and sat on the bed next to me.

"Well, I was just checking if you were okay."

I let out a laugh after hearing her words.

"What are you saying? I never get sick except for the time when we at The Dark Swamp."

Hearing my response, Yuris shook her head to the side.

"I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about this marriage between Ilya and Elliot."

The corner of my mouth twitch a little at that.

"Of course I'm okay with it! Why do you even thought I wouldn't be okay with it? Their happiness isy happiness you know? We have going through a lot of things and-"

When I started to talk in a rapid manner Yuris put her finger over my mouth.

"It's okay, I already know you has feelings for her."

I looked down dejectedly at her words.

"I see... so you knew huh? Since when did you noticed it?"

I always make sure to make my advances when I and Illya are alone and never show signs that I has feelings for her such as flustered for no reason when making physical contact with her or started blushing when get close to her. In other words, I always hid my feelings from my companions completely and make sure to make her notice my feeling little by little. But seeing the current situation, It seems she also didn't notice my feeling.

"Hmm... Maybe around half a month after our journey?"

"I see."

She stared at me for a few moment before standing up and walks towards the door.

"Well, it seems you are doing fine even without me cheering you up."

"I don't mind receiving a hug or two you know?"

"Fufufu if someone were to accidentally saw that and reported it to the temple you will probably kidnapped by the inquisitior you know?"

I shrugged my shoulder when she answered my joke in a similarly joking manner.

"Well, that's scary."

When she was about to close the door I can hear her mumbled softly but I can't make out her words.

"What was that?"

She looked back at me with a somewhat strange smile.

"Well, I just want to tell you to not cry too hard at the wedding."

"Haha there's no way I'm going to be like that."

Two months later

At the outdoor wedding venue that was set up by the royal family so that nobles and commoners alike can attend this joyous moment, a thunderous cheers echoed when the bride and groom kiss each other.

In the front row seat, The Empress and the Harmond family members watch this scene with small tears at the corner of their eyes while His Majesty the Emperor, the Harmond family head, are crying with tears and snot filled their faces, and also me with two stream of waterfall coming out of my eyes.

Aisha who sat next to me looked at me with a disgusted face.

"Why are you crying like that? You're not even any of their parents...."
