Chapter 17.3: Blake

………

Alfonso's Dream

After what happened, Blake in the morning, lying on his bed is deep in contemplation.

Repeating what happened inside his head, last night's traumatizing experience.

He shuddered as that glimpse of the last night's scene flashed through his mind, while repeatedly saying inside his head

‹Ma... I don't want to be here anymore›

However, the girl who saved him made Blake grateful, she even warned him that he shouldn't be near the caretaker because she felt something weird with him in the past but could not point it out. Now though, she finally knows why.

With that, the clip quickened again and soon stopped.

It was the time of the day that Blake will go visit his mother.

Inside a white room, a woman and a boy were talking to each other.

"Ma..."

A boy's innocent voice sounded, it was no other but Blake.

"What is it, sweety?" The woman responded in a soft voice.

"Will you... Be able to see again?" Blake asked, no longer wanting to stay in the orphanage because of what happened last night. Blake also noticed that his mother's condition was getting worse, her thin face and skinny body made it visible, and her eyes that he always saw had life in it is gone.

But when his mother heard him speak, she remained silent despite her anxious and dejected expression.

"..."

After a long silence, only did the mother speak again.

"No sweety..." She dolefully whispered, but Blake only questioned again in desperation.

"Is there really no way?"

Turning silent again from his question, the mother asked him back,

"Why? Are you okay?" But after she asked that, the tears of the boy suddenly erupted and he sobbingly said.

"Ma!!! I don't want to go back!"

As if he was going to die, Blake continued in a desperate tone, "Ma!!! Please!!!"

"Why what happened?" she asked.

However, she was left speechless when she heard Blake explain what happened to him. Soon, however, she suddenly hugged Blake, trying her best to shut her eyelids so tears won't flow from her cheeks.

"If only... If only your mother is not blind... Something like this could have not happened to you... If only!"

The mother said in a hoarse voice filled with hate and agony.

"If only that rich man paid us... Then we wouldn't be in this situation... I'm sorry for being an incompetent mother Blake!" she added and sobbed while hugging Blake. The two then cried in sync.

Outside the scene

Seeing how my young self cried like a baby made me remember the feelings I felt at that time. This was also the starting point where I started not to trust people...

You are reading story I’m The Pitiful Villain at novel35.com

I knew why my mother said those words at that time... Because if only we were paid... Then maybe we wouldn't be in that situation.

The reason why my mother was the one who needed to pay the bills in the hospital in the first place, was because the one who hit our vehicle was a rich man who fucking rigged the corrupt legal system with the use of his influence.

That's the reason why I was sent to an orphanage while my mother didn't get the help she needed because of that jackass. However... I'm still young at this time so I still didn't know.

With that in thought. Memories then slowly flooded my mind as the scene in front continued to roll.

My mother, fortunately, made me stay that day and after that, filed a case for that shitty man. Even though we were broke already. But some help was provided and we succeeded in prisoning the caretaker.

How we were able to get a lawyer in the first place without much money? that's because the lawyer who helped us chose to not be paid. Simply because he deeply hated pedophiles.

We thanked him in return. It went flawlessly because the girl who saved me from getting touched proved my claims true for she is a witness. People that know the caretaker couldn't believe at first what they heard of him because he has a good reputation but because of the girl... The tables were turned.

After that, I was sent to another orphanage again but this time... I became someone who goes out of the orphanage. Why? Because I decided to instead of staying at the orphanage, I should just go out and get some money for my mother's eyes.

Earning so that my money could recover her sight.

At first, I tried to use arts as a way to make money but I realized that it would take me forever to reach my goal.

Left with no choice, I decided to try some odd jobs while doing school.

The events happening in front of my eyes passed in a blink of an eye.

Just to earn money, I even started to steal, no longer being able to bear the sight of my mother not getting the help she needed.

Until a particular man caught my eye and at the same time, the clip slowed once again.

This man... Was no other but someone who I have worked with before. He saw my situation and proposed a job to me since he noticed how desperate I was.

I was still twelve at this age. I didn't trust the man completely but I thought that it wouldn't be too bad to check it out.

However, my face turned grim as I recalled what would happen.

"This is where it all started... Those jobs... What if I rejected them? Would things be different if I wasn't blinded by revenge?" I whispered, whilst the clip continued to roll. The man in the scene then started to approach me, however, I rejected his offer the instant he mentioned offering me a job. Since I didn't trust people that easily at this age. Until, when he finally took something out of his pocket and asked,

"This might interest ya kid. Do you know why you're mother doesn't get the help she needs?"

Only did my twelve years old self suddenly halted and turned his head toward the man with bloodshot eyes.

With that last scene, a bright light then suddenly pierced my vision.

I tried to open my eyes at that moment.

Only to see an unfamiliar ceiling emerge.

"..."

I tried to look around and get up, but all I felt was an unbelievable pain.

I turned silent for a moment.

Only to realize that I have woken up from my dream as I recalled why I am in this state.

"Alfonso!"

A voice of a woman that contained relief suddenly sounded.

It was no other but Mary.

~Hug~

My eyes then widened when Mary suddenly hugged me.

‹What the...›
