We finished making the EMPs sometime before midnight and since we didn't have anything else I told Asami to talk with her father, she tried to find excuses but all of them were shot down by me.

We went to the cell where he was kept and there were twelve guards posted outside. TWELVE JUST THERE, inside, there were eight more, and more than half of them were metal benders, Hiroshi was more secured in that cell than Earth Kingdom's Queen in her throne room.

Asami entered the cell, and I could hear the yelling through the metal door, it was safe to say that Asami vented her feeling quite well. After about fifteen minutes she came out and said that Hiroshi wanted to talk with me as well, I was quite surprised since I thought he hated my guts after I rejected his offer and turned him in, but never the less I went inside.

"To what do I owe the pleasure to be summoned here?"

"Hahaha, I always liked this about you, even though we've met only once, I read all your papers and I heard Nya talk endlessly about you and as recently Asami as well. You have a flair of a well-cultured person, even though you come from humble origins you talk with such mannerism, the way you think and approach a problem is also one of the things I like about you."

"If I wanted an ego boost I would have gone and asked someone else, now can you tell me why I'm here?"

"When I first saw your paper I was thunderstruck. I looked into you, other than Varrick there was no one else on our level, a new scientist of your caliber is hard to find so I wondered who you were, then I found out that you weren't some old fart that all his didn't have anything else to do and because he was getting old he decided to publish those works to get his five minutes of fame.

It was the happiest day of my life when I found out the kind of person you were, a kind and well-mannered young man. Finally, a person I could truly talk with, a person that cared about others, not like that lunatic Varrick, and because your girlfriend worked for Future Industries I had a way to come in contact with you naturally."

"So you promoted Nya to get close to me, ouch, that is going to hurt when I tell her."

"Yes, I might have promoted her because of that, and to be honest, I didn't have much expectation for her, but after a while, I could see why you loved her, she was beautiful, smart, funny. I regret not doing it sooner.

Now back to the topic at hand. You were so young, I wanted you to mature a little before I gave you the proposition to become partners so I let you be. Since there was going to be a big move on the Equalists part I thought it's to take you into the fold.

You see I'm a believer in the Cause but I don't like to get involved with the administrative staff in the organization, you can't imagine my surprise when I found out that the two of you were believers in the Cause as well and quite respected members of the community I might add. I instantly felt like the partnership was meant to be."

"What!"

Everybody tensed up when Sato said that I was an equalist. The guards were ready to pounce on me if I made the slightest move and Asami was looking at me bewildered.

"HAHAHAHA! I never hear so much bullshit in my life! Good one!

This confused everybody present, including Hiroshi, he wasn't expecting this response, and neither did anyone else. Since everyone didn't know what to believe I thought it was the best time to say something to make it look like all he said were just lies.

"Wait did you guys believe this? In what world would I a supposed member of the Equalistsh help you capture one of its most important and destroy the weapons he made for them. Everybody with half a brain can see that these are the words of a cornered person trying to sew distrust between allies."

I walk out of the room with Asami behind me apologizing.

"I'm sorry! I never knew he was a liar as well as a psychopath. I'm so sorry that because of me you almost got incarcerated again!"

"Your father is many things but a liar isn't one of them before you say anything that could attract attention I want to remain you that we are in a police station."

This seemed to calm her down and stopped her from asking too many questions.

"What this you were planning to tell us?"

"Yes, since I'm no longer going to pretend then it means I wouldn't put you in danger if I told you."

"I get it now, why you seem at times so secretive and the martial arts training. You don't have to excuse yourself, now things make even more sense. If you told me and I told dad about it then Nya would have probably been in danger. I'm sorry for reacting like that."

"You have nothing to apologize for, you simply didn't know all the details and if you had to hate me in order for me to protect Nya, you and the rest I wouldn't mind that."

"Now I feel like I'm the bad one here..."

BOOOOOOM!

The building quaked, luckily we were both safe, a little disorientated but nothing else.

"Let's go, it's time!"
