That morning right after Tenzin left for a meeting with the council Bolin and I started to bury the explosives, this took us about half a day.

While doing it, a lot of air acolytes looked weird at us since they didn't know what we were doing, in the end, Pema came and started to question us. It took quite a bit of lying to convince her that all we were doing was nothing dangerous and that it was to set up a defensive perimeter in case the Equalists came. This scared her quite a bit but I reassured her that it was only a precaution.

The rest of the day we did some light training and I had a meditation session with Korra, she was so close to connecting with her past reincarnation, she just needed a little push. Other than that we didn't do anything else since we were planning to go out at night to beat some equalists and we needed to be in the best condition possible in case something bad happened. I had mixed feeling about this since I trained some of them, they believed in me, and yet I betrayed them, I keep telling myself that I'm doing the right thing, I knew it's true, but it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

After dinner, we went to the city, more specifically to a garage that Hiroshi had in the city to get a car. This was one of the locations that the police didn't have time to raid properly so everything was still here. We all hopped in and started to search for criminal activity, luckily mister Sato put police radios in all of his cars.

It took us only a few minutes to find a group of equalists escaping. In no more than ten minutes we were behind the Equalists convoy. It wasn't even a challenge we captured them before the police even got here. When they finally arrive they were pretty pissed, well Tarrlok was the one screaming at us, the rest of the officers didn't say anything and just did their job.

After he said his piece to the avatar he came to me.

"Mister Ethan, I admire your courage, ever since you fought with the Equalists when the police station was attacked I wanted to talk with you, but unfortunately the circumstances wouldn't allow it."

"I understand, there is no need for you to apologize to me sir, the city has been hectic recently and it needs people that care about this city to do something."

"Thank you, I knew you were a smart young man, but I don't understand, surely you must see that your friends are just making more chaos than helping, they should let the authorities handle it. On that note, I want to offer you a position on the task force, you more than deserve it. What do you say, want to save the city the right way?"

"HAHAHA, I think you understood me the wrong way councilman, I never said you were a person that cared for the city, you care about the benders of this city, and even about them, I have doubts. I said it out of courtesy I didn't expect you to actually believe it. Let's not kid ourselves, we both know that you are not a saint, and about the position in the task force, I have a problem with authority, l would never work under you, I prefer to be in jail than have you as my boss, in fact, I think I would rather follow Amon than you."

His face becomes completely red, I said the last part loud enough for the rest of the people present to hear us. While all of them worked under him, there weren't a lot of them that liked him. When he was about to leave I added.

He looks at me mockingly and says through his teeth.

"Well, I tried." I say while shrugging.

In the following days, we went almost every night to fight the Equalists. This made them more cautious since we could respond much faster than the police, restricting their movements. Also, I've been searching for the airplanes that Amon had during the day when I went to buy parts for Asami's and Nya's new suits, I couldn't find them no matter where I looked.

About a week and a half passed and we hear on the radio about a group of equalist rallying in the street, so of course, we went there to check it out. What we saw was a bunch of people being bullied by the police. All of us were disgusted about this scene some more than others, Nya and Asami were furious when they saw this. I took a lot of strength to keep Nya from starting to go ham on the policeman.

"Calm down! They are just doing their job, do you think this was their idea?"

Korra started to walk up to and said.

"I don't know who's idea it was, but that person is going to get a beating."
