Chapter 73: Air Temple Island(5)

I watched as they were all taken in by the police. Tenzin wanted to come with them in order to help Korra manage the situation, but I manage to divert his attention to the rooftops making him check, I need to tell him something, and since I was now a wanted fugitive it was better to remain hidden.

He came to the rooftop cautiously since he didn't know who could be there. Seeing me his eyes widened.

"Why are you here!? You assaulted a councilmember run away, I don't think you are here to turn yourself in so why?"

"I need your help, I was planning to let Tarlok enjoy his position for a little longer, guess I can't anymore. I have a way to get rid of him permanently without killing him."

"Ethan, you... Hah, what do you have in mind?"

I told Tenzin to bring the council members and a few police officers he trusted, discreetly near the Water Tribe Offices, and to watch the show. He was confused at first but I told him that things will become clear once we are all there. Reluctantly he agreed and went to get the other members.

I went to my warehouse to get one of my sniper rifles, tonight I knew that Korra was going to fight Tarrlok and lose. I needed to make preparations for capturing Tarrlok after he used blood-bending enough to convince the people with me that he was a threat. I could use my anesthetic needles, but what fun would that be?

At about midnight I arrived at the meeting place, a rooftop near Tarllok's office. When I landed I saw the people there, the fire and earth representatives were there and they looked pissed, there were also a few policemen with Lin leading them.

"Good evening, captain Beifong! I'm surprised to see you here, I thought you were still recovering."

"Oh, I was, but when Tenzin came begging for my help I couldn't refuse him."

"Young man, you better tell us why we are here, or else!"

The Earth Kingdom representative cut in. I looked at him, pulling my DE out and pointing at his head. I pull the trigger and shout "bang", this makes him fall on his ass sweating bullets. I can see everyone looking at me like I'm insane.

"There is no need to fear, if I wanted any of you dead I would have killed you in a less more conspicuous way, any way, I gathered all of you here to see the highest form of water bending known to man, psychic blood bending, being displayed by your on and only golden boy Tarrlok. Any questions?"

For a few seconds, there was a profound silence, they were all bewildered by the things I said, they didn't know if they could believe me or not, on one part, I was a fearless hero who fought for justice, and on the other, I was a crazy person with no regard for the law. The first one to speak of Lin.

Silence hit again, they didn't want to believe me but the way I talked about it sounded like it was a sure thing. In the end, the two council members decided to stay and watch. On queue, Korra entered the building and went to Tarrlok's office.

"Shouldn't we stop her?"

"Stop her? Why would we do such a thing? Do you think that Tarrlok will just start to blood bend for no reason? For now, let's get down to watch the show."

We went down and hid in the shadows to see the fight. It went as you would expect, Korra beat the living daylight out of him when it was time to finish things and the people with me started to become anxious, he started to blood bend and monolog.

"Now does everyone believe me?"

All of them looked with shocked eyes at this scene.

'God damn it! What's with those people, can't they process information faster.'

"Everyone go! Save the avatar and capture the blood bender!"

The policemen went in and of course, they got caught in the blood-bending. Seeing that the police was involved Tarrlok wanted to run away. Since I couldn't have that I pulled out my sniper and shot him two times, one bullet per arm. It was a massive overkill since I could have used my pistol as well but since I had the sniper with me I wanted to use it.

This horrified everybody. I have to admit it was a rather grotesque scene, blood going everywhere, the sound of bone cracking, Tarrlok screaming his guts out in pain. The silver lining was that he was still alive, just bearly.

Tarrlok passed out from pain and when Korra woke up closed all his wounds. Now being healthy enough to be taken in, he was brought to the precinct.

We had him, now the problem was how to interrogate him since he could blood bend with his mind so we needed a way to make sure that this wouldn't happen.
