On the way back, Su Yang started to think.
‘Old Zhou’s next class is two days away. Don’t be nervous. He might not even remember what he said today, so…I shouldn’t worry…’
When he got back home, before he could even take a glass of water, Deeny flew to him and pushed the panel into his face. “Master! Master! Look how I did today!”
Su Yang poured himself a cup of water and then checked the panel. The video looked a lot better, maybe because he had written the script this time.
It started with Deeny live streaming on TikTok, talking to her fans, and Gru suddenly ran over behind her. Shocked, she turned around and said, “What’s that? Did you guys see something behind me?”
Deeny then lifted the camera and started to search the house. In the end, she found Gru in an abandoned storeroom on top of an old table, moonwalking to rock music.
The entire vlog was simple and straightforward.
Be it Deeny’s shocked expression or her search, or even Gru’s final appearance, everything was a lot better than before.
Su Yang gave her a big thumbs-up. “Nice! I think it’s great! I’ll do some editing for you later and you can post it.”
His plan was to introduce each member of the monster family through Deeny’s own work and let the fans know what was coming. When the other members got enough attention, they would start shooting for the real ‘Monster Family’ series.
It was the simplest and the fastest way to introduce the other members to the fans. In this way, the series would be able to receive an explosive start.
Su Yang took the footage from Deeny and headed to the study room. He transformed the book into the desktop computer again and started editing. He adjusted the color, edited the live stream footage in, added subtitles, and some effects.
‘Hmm, looks good.’
Then, he sent the edited footage to Deeny and told her to post it on TikTok.
‘All’s ready except for one last thing: the result of this video! Let’s hope Deeny’s popularity can make Gru popular too. But Gru is so cute. Everyone will like him!’
Su Yang was confident in Gru’s cuteness. He pulled the sticky notes off the desktop computer and then tidied up the table. It was then that the notification ringtone chimed in the room.
“You’ve got a message from WeChat.”
Su Yang brought up the panel and checked the notification.
It was from the puffy girl, Li Zijun. She said she was done with all the handover and was ready to join the company officially.
Besides noticing the surge of new users in “Find Me” from yesterday, she also knew about what had happened, and she believed that there were still some opportunities from this little incident that they could take advantage of.
Su Yang trusted Li Zijun’s capabilities, so he gave her access to the back-end system of “Find Me” so that she could use the data to her advantage.
He also gave her permission to do whatever she believed that could benefit them and told her to come to him if she needed funds.
Su Yang was quite generous when it came to spending money on “Find Me”. He was running an online platform, after all. If he was stingy about the money, he would not be able to compete in the early stages.
On top of that, the Silver Mission only cared about how much money he earned, not how much he had in his bank account. Utilizing the mobility of the cash flow to make more money was the right approach to the Silver Mission.
His investment in the milk tea shop was the right choice! Pool and Sanque were already earning money!
After the talk with Li Zijun, Su Yang received a phone call from Wang Dong who said that Junqing Intermediary had not given up yet and wanted to have another meeting.
Su Yang simply said, “Let them wait.”
Junqing had once threatened to stop supplying Qidian with jobs if Su Yang did not want to sell his company, and after the deal went south, Junqing simply stopped the supply without prior notice. Now, Junqing realized that their threats could not harm Su Yang at all, so they started to change to a softer approach to meet him. Su Yang always hated this kind of ill-intentioned acquisition.
After settling the matter with his company, he hummed a melody as he went shopping for ingredients of the unknown book.
The system shop provided him with a different item every week, and whether it was useful or not, he would take it. After all, Su Yang had always been receptive to free things.
He called the system up at the supermarket and used it as a list for his shopping.

“One bag of cumin powder…” Su Yang grabbed a bag of cumin and put it into his cart.
“10 toothpicks…I’ll just buy a whole pack.” He grabbed a whole pack of toothpicks into the card.
“Beer.” He arrived at the alcohol section and was welcomed by a plethora of options.
‘Let’s just buy a bottle of Snow[1]. People say a single bottle can bring you to the end of the world…’
“500 grams of belly meat.” Su Yang went back to the meat section for the pork belly.
“New Orleans drumette…” He was confused by the name.
‘Where should I buy this? Must I grill it myself? Or do I buy a ready-made pack?’
Just as he pondered about the question, a familiar voice sounded in his ears, “Mr. President? What a coincidence!”
‘What? Wait! Why is everything brighter around me? I just heard his voice, but I haven’t even seen his face!’
Su Yang turned around and saw Qu Xuan who was in a tracksuit, looking like the prettiest sunny boy with overflowing testosterone. His snow-white teeth were so bright that they could blind one’s eyes.
Beside the 180 cm tall cheery boy was a tiny figure: Qu Xiaomeng.
Su Yang could not help but be surprised by the pair of siblings whenever he saw them. They had the same parents, yet the difference in their height was almost 30 cm apart and was probably one of the miracles of life.
Qu Xiaomeng also greeted him, “Su Yang, have you been studying English lately?”
‘What is with the lecturers that I know? Everyone is asking me about my studies whenever I meet them! Can’t they be a little less dutiful?’
Su Yang ignored her and looked at Qu Xuan. “You guys are…”
Qu Xuan looked at Qu Xiaomeng before he went closer to Su Yang and whispered, “Mr. President, please help me! I’m almost late for a date, but my sister wants me to be her errand boy! Can you please send her home for me?”
Su Yang looked at Qu Xiaomeng. The short lecturer was throwing air-punches at him for not answering her question.
He shook his head. “No.”
Qu Xuan whispered, “I’ll pay you 10 yuan!”
Su Yang looked askance at him.
‘Bruh, are you insulting me right now?’
Qu Xuan noticed Su Yang’s gaze, so he put his hand out and said, “500!”
Su Yang was shocked. ‘What’s with the sudden increase!?’
“Deal!” Both guys shook hands.
Delighted, Qu Xuan then told his sister, “Sis! Something’s come up, so I have to go now! Su Yang will send you home! Bye!”
Then, before Qu Xiaomeng could react, he ran with his long legs. However, before he fled, he left a final message for his sister, “Oh, right, Mom and Dad want you back for dinner this weekend.”
Only then did Qu Xiaomeng realize that she was being dumped by her brother. She stared at her brother’s running figure and shouted, “I’m NOT going back!”
‘I have a feeling that she’s going to eat her words soon…’ Su Yang felt skeptical about what Qu Xiaomeng said.
After Qu Xuan left, Qu Xiaomeng was left alone with Su Yang, and the atmosphere instantly turned awkward.
Su Yang cleared his throat and said, “Hi, Ms. Qu.”
The temperature in the air fell below zero instantly.
