Ah. I might really need a drink.

He’s smiling and not saying anything. It was in the morning that the Prince suddenly contacted me.

What did he say to me? He mentioned that he was going to the museum’s re-opening ceremony and asked if I wanted to meet him there?

He was about to ask me to play with him because he was bored. In the end, that’s the reason why I came, but I ended up only talking about useless things.

“What do you think of this painting? It’s a drawing by a rookie artist. It’s a picture of a legend in the past.”

It was really boring. In other countries, the priesthood and the imperial power often clash, but in Arena, it does not have such a thing.

On the other hand, are we supposed to eat? The museum was doing its best to make the White Uroboros look like some sort of a saint.

What was the point of promoting the art museum by reopening it anyway? It’s not interesting at all.

So I answered roughly, “Yeah. I think they drew it very well.”

“You don’t like it?” The Crown Prince asked with a serious look.

“What would you do if I said it wasn’t good?”

“We need to prepare something new again. I’m going to make him and draw him again. This is one of the most painstaking things I should do in the Royal Family. Soon, there will be a change of Imperial power and we’ll prepare for it.”

The transfer of Imperial power. Come to think of it, it was when I was eighteen that the Crown Prince ascended to the throne.

We really don’t have much time left.

I have to dig up some information before he becomes the King. It’ll be hard to meet him after he becomes the Emperor.

“Was the Enthronement Ceremony already decided?”

“Not yet. Not exactly, but it’s scheduled for this summer.”

Summer. I always associate summer with wearing sleeveless dresses whenever I attend the Coronation Ceremony.

Huh.

“Are you going to attend the Coronation Ceremony?”

“I think I’ll attend. Because I’m the daughter of the Grand Duke.”

“That’s not what I meant.” The Crown Prince glanced at me. He asked with a smile. “Will you stand next to me?”

“What?”

What the hell is he saying?

“Have you ever thought about it?”

“All of a sudden? You’re so mischievous.”

I knew that the Crown Prince would never say that without any strange intention. I deliberately changed the subject by pretending not to know.

“And the paintings are not good. It doesn’t interest me at all. It’s just, well, it’s a painting to worship God, and I don’t think it’s meant to impress me or others as well.” I turned my back and walked.

“It wasn’t meant to end like this. How about a glass of wine?”

Why don’t we have a drink and talk about different topics? We’ll be good friends. I’m already ready!

The Crown Prince gave a strange smile. “A glass of wine. All right. We won’t be playing card games today. I think you already practiced hard.”

“Hahaha. There’s a drinking game, right?”

I’m good at drinking games!

* * *

I’m sure that this game doesn’t suit me. Whatever kind it is, I just suck. How can I lose again? At this rate, I will not be able to achieve my goal and might pass out first.

Why am I so unlucky? It would have been a disaster if it wasn’t for the amount of alcohol God had arranged for me.

I sighed.

“Well, the lady has lost again.” The Crown Prince smiled and held out his glass to me.

This son of a b—-

“Won’t you act like you’re my Black Knight and ignore this game just once?” I asked, grinding my teeth.

How the hell can I not lose a game? How was I not this talented in games? I’ll lose even if I just play rock-paper-scissors.

“I’m not the knight of the lady yet,” he said.

I ignored him as I took a drink. It was when I tried to drink while glaring at the Crown Prince, that a shadow fell over me. Then the cup was taken away.

“I know, Lulu. I’m only saying that I am that someone who’s going to be your knight.”

It was a low, soft voice. A familiar one at that.

“Gerald?”

Gerald drank all the wine in my cup.

His actions. Gerald put down the empty cup and smiled.

“May I sit down, Your Grace? I couldn’t eat.” It was a voice full of hostility.

“Yes, gentleman. The lady will be sad if you ever go away with an empty stomach.” The Crown Prince smiled softly.

Gerald’s seat was prepared.
