Murray couldn’t believe the luck that came in just a blink of an eye. Was he lucky that they couldn’t trust themselves?
The number of people visiting Murray increased daily. They wanted to confirm the miracle through him and the existence of God. And of course, today was no different.
It’s been three days since Murray’s legs became normal. The end of his pure, white robe was engraved with the shape of a snake with wings filled with gold.
Murray rubbed his sweaty palms on his pants. These were the ‘people’ involved, the ones who fixed Murray’s leg.
‘Say everything that you wanted to say. All you have to do is tell us what you’ve been through.’
Be a priest, that was the only thing he had to do and they were able to fix Murray’s legs.
He only had to be honest about the miracles he went through. All he had to do was inform them about the existence of Nigrum.
Even Murray believed in Nigrum, of course, he believed in Black Uroboros as well. It wasn’t that hard for him to do so.
On the contrary, he was only grateful that they helped him walk again by only telling them what he knew.
“Are you the one who claims to have a new bridge?” asked the priest.
“That’s right,” Murray answered.
“Was it God’s power to fix that? You’re not possessed by any other things at all?”
“It was a brilliant golden power as if it was something I could never even fathom. I would not be foolish enough to sell my soul for something in exchange and get my leg back to normal as well.” Murray replied curtly.
Does that make sense? God was the only one who could perform such a miracle.
This was the inevitable complaint against these retainers who criticized the miracle that
Murray had experienced. Murray could only see them as troublemakers talking without knowing anything.
“You’re someone with power. Do you have to find out for yourself what has been done that I have already healed? Since you are a priest who serves the White Uroboros, you will be able to figure everything out with your own power more than me, don’t you think?”
“You’re arrogant!”
“It just meant that,” Murray answered. “You can’t do it. You’re not as powerful as people expect that you are.”
He didn’t like the rude attitude that came with him from the beginning and the fact that this priest acted like it was his own house made him even more annoyed.
It has been a long time since Candidum’s deities were overbearing and arbitrary. People took it for granted. The priests serve the White Uroboros, and they already think that they are better than God himself.
But are they really? Murray became suspicious. What was really great and high were not them but the deities of Nigrum?
They performed a miracle that no one could do. Is there any reason for Murray to devote respect and awe to those priests? Such a question was planted in Murray’s mind.
“Do you want to be punished by God?” The officers pointed their fingers at Murray.
He was trying to keep calm, but he showed a shaky mind.
Murray shrugged. “If you take my leg back, I believe it’s a punishment. Then I’ll go to the temple and crawl on the ground and apologize.”
He continued and sighed, “So if that’s not the case, don’t criticize the miracle I have experienced like that again.” Murray said bitterly.
People are often kinder to the kindness they receive. He will never forget the kindness of Nigrum’s deity and swear himself faithful. Murray got up on his two legs in good shape and drove the priests out of his home.
“Go! Tsk. Is White Uroboros really a god?” He smirked, “The priests have no power.”
Murray closed the door coldly.
“Did you see that crazy guy? He had the guts to doubt God? Right now, Holy Knight…….”
The priest, who was venting his anger, looked around. The eyes of the people are cold. The other officers swallowed their saliva. Now Murray was claiming that he had been blessed by God. It didn’t matter if it was black or white.
It was the grace of God that mattered. And the fact that Murray was someone whom they couldn’t just touch however they wanted. Punishing Murray was like trying to punish God himself.
“………Stop. Let’s just get going.” The priests blurted out and ran away.
There was nothing they could do about it now. Murray was already in the public eye and there was no way to stop him. Well, unless that person came from the Imperial Family.

The Emperor called the Crown Prince. Even though it was a family dinner after a long time, the atmosphere was cold. The Emperor stared at Ernst with no emotion at all.
“Do you know the story that’s going around outside the palace?”
Ernst put down his fork as he already lost his appetite. It was already expected that the Emperor would call Ernst for it.
