“Oh, well that’s not wrong. Humans live much shorter and have no power. Nothing wrong with looking down on creatures like that, no?”
“Then why am I an exception, just because I caught your interest?”
“It’s just… on a whim, yeah.”
That’s barely an answer…
But I guess I understand wanting to be with others who you like, especially as a loner who had cats and dogs as friends in the past.
“We’ll arrive soon.”
Oh? It’s true. I see the Great Forest just a bit ahead.
The Great Forest, or more accurately, the Midcontinental Great Races’ Forest.
It’s an inconceivably large forest, with three terrifying existences in spirits, monsters, and dragons.
I’ve heard that it’s referred to as different names in different countries, but Great Forest is a generally agreed upon name.
It’s said that the three earlier stated races have bad blood amongst each other.
Spirits are born from the nature around, from trees to lakes to the earthy forest bed. Although it’s difficult for humans to cut down the trees which act as the foundation of spirits, they are often eaten or leached by insect monsters.
Monsters are said to be the most like other living beings out of the three because they eat and reproduce. Another of their traits is the large variety, with there being monster birds, insects, fish, and beasts. This, however, does lead to conflict and a food chain amongst themselves.
Last are dragons, which I don’t know much about. While they apparently do reproduce, they also apparently weren’t first born from evolution, but appeared all of a sudden, terrorizing civilization with unknown reasons.
And this place is going to be where I, who’s not a hero nor a warrior, but a commoner, will be living.
