Chapter 86

Around a week after the announcement of the Northern-Eastern Swordsmanship Competition was announced.

Fii and her friends decided to go to the library in the wall. Like the apprenticeship dormitories, it is a building in a separate building built in the castle grounds. Anyone can use it if they have a job in the city.

There seems to be another library in the royal palace, but only royalty, civil servants who gained permission, aristocrats and other limited people could enter it.

Walking out of the northern dormitory, you can see the imperial house where Fii used to live on your right.

We left the northern dormitory and walked around the palace in a westward direction. The library is located within the Southwestern wall.

From there we head through one of the walls inside the castle wall, passing in front of the west gate and go through the garden until we reach the library.

“Oh, that’s a Maretta.”

Fii found a flower she knew in the garden.

“Maretta?”

Fii showed the boys, it was a low white flowers bloomed, one clear white flower petals attached to the yellow center flower pillar.

The shape of the leaves has changed, divided like many as a lance.

“Here … …”

Fii hurriedly stopped herself before saying “In my hometown it was often blooming.”She quickly switches to “It is also blooming in such places …”

“Don’t tell me you don’t know about the goddesses flower?”

“Hmm, do you mean Maretta?”

The reaction of boys is light. Though they are interested in swords, there are not many boys who are interested in flowers.

So I’m not even sure if the flower is rare in Orstoll. That reminds me that I had not seen much of it.

The only exception among them is Remié who is interested in flowers. He explained more about the flower to Fii.

“It is a flower that is often blooming in the hometown of Queen Fiiru. I believe the gardener’s planted it for her. It is a simple but beautiful flower.

By the way, it seems that among the gardens of Orstoll it has become a popular plant to have!”

It seems that Remié likes flowers.

There was no other boys interested and the talk was inevitably thrown away and Fii was saved.

After a while we went into the library of interest.

It is a large building with 3 floors. When looking at the building you could tell that it was fairly new. According to Remié, it seems that the king had it built about 10 years ago.

The inside of the library was not crowded.

It seems that the place was made for people to be able to study. When people who areworking in the castle are interested in something, they can come here to learn. The result is slightly subtle though. People who read the books seem to be limited by all means.

The literacy rate in the Orstoll kingdom is quite high. Fii heard that young people especially could read and write almost all the letters.

It seems that a classroom for short-term teaching of letters is being held and the swordsmanship dojo was asked to teach the letters.

The king’s real intention is larger though, he is planning to make larger schools to educate people. He is also working on employment and culture trade–offs, so small classes are the limit at present.

When thinking carefully, prostitutes from downtown are familiar with signboards. Studying letters is not a scene that is common in Déman, where studying is limited to wealthy such as aristocrats and merchants.

“Quite vacant isn’t it”

“Because I’m not familiar with special paper I am a bit hesitant to take a book, it is only the second time I have come here.”

To that extent, it may be sad that libraries are used only for those with a high literacy rate due to lack of paper.

That is the information I learned about the king who locked himself in with Fiiru after Fii became an apprentice knight. *This line doesn’t seem quite right*

As you open the door, you can see something like a counter.

If you apply for permission to the country, it seems that you can also borrow books. It is a little unusual for librarians to also include commoners. There is no problem though since they have a solid knowledge base at the time they started working in the castle.

When the fees were paid to enter the library, Golms said to Fii.

“Come here, I think this is the bookshelf of knight materials.”

“Yes”

They had come to the library to help Fii since she had never played in official games so she could study the rules. Fii told them that they should tell her verbally, but they were caught by Gorms. That’s why Fii decided to take the book where the rules of the sword skill match was written.

The library was organized so that the information signs were easy to understand, and it was made very user friendly. I can hear praise for the King’s education.

In the meantime, Fii found accomplishments of the King who spent time in the library while walking through the bookshelves of materials.

I guess it is probably a work break. There was a figure of a maid who readily reads a book sitting in a chair. It was Althea who had recently become friends with Fii after giving her cookies.

She had lived in the royal city for many years, but she is a child of the common race who is not affluent. Previously a maid was essentially only a nobleman or a wealthy merchant’s daughter, in Déman it is still that way. In Orstoll it has now changed so that as long as you have a reliable identity you can be accepted to enter the hiring examination for the royal palace. It seems that she is one of these maids.

Althea who was supposed to be of a caste that was not familiar with books is now she seated firmly in the chair and was reading a thick book.

Fii was interested and looked at the front cover for a while.

You are reading story I'll Live My Second Life! at novel35.com

Knight and his maid. Well, I can’t see it because the angle is bad.

While Fii was staring at it, Althea noticed her. As she saw an incredible thing, she opened her eyes and turned her face turned bright red. Dropping the book on the table with a bang she shouted and jumped up.

“He, Heath-san!”

Apparently I surprised her.

She was reading so seriously, I thought it was bad to disturb her. Then she smiled at me, she waved and said goodbye.

I arrive at the shelf of the knight’s material and looked for a rule book.

There were various books in the bookshelf, such as the history of the knight and the famous knight name book.

There were also books on the North Residence Dormitory Rules. There are several, it seems that it is divided by age. There was also another dormitory.

Fii decided she would keep an eye on it and looked for the Competition rule book.

Sword Technique Competition Rules · Knights Edition.

Apparently there seems to be various rules, it’s a thick book.

Fii returned to the Gorms when she had it.

Then Fii was forced to copy the rule book.

“Here, write it properly”

“Muu ……, can’t we just read it”

“No, write it out properly“

You needed a god of enthusiasm to get Fii to memorize the rules.

What is written in the rule book was just a matter of course but Fii’s motivation is very low.

I will use a sword for the competition, other than that, I shouldn’t need to know the rules.

It is written that such an ordinary way. To put it simply it is boring.

In the surroundings, the Geith, Slad, Remié who had some leisure time took a break.

Geith brought the book of the knight story’s again and is reading it pleasantly. Slad is scribbling on paper. Remié is reviewing the lesson from this morning.

Gorms watches Fii, while reading a book about a training plan again.

While raising his eyebrows, Slad said that he was copying the sword skill competition rules and knight moves.

“By the way, people of Déman seem to write the letter D like this D“

Due to Queen’s greetings from Déman, it is sometimes talked about among the people of Orstoll. However, because it is a small country that has no features in any way, about ten percent is a talk is about flower talk or a story talk, a bad reputation of Fii for about five minutes, and about 90% of the talk was about Fiiru.

“Oh, I know what you mean, when I saw the sentences where Queen had written, I thought it was beautiful although it had changed.”

“Well, when you write like that, it looks like it’s hard to write.”

Fii smiled at the word.

If you can see sentences you are writing you might get kicked out of Déman.

When I thought of such a thing, I looked into the paper that Remié copied.

Cold sweat ran down the back of Fii.

When Remié gazed at the letters he wrote, he smiled faintly.

“The letters of Heath is typical Orstoll letters, but it looks beautifully written like this and it is a little like how royalty writes.”

Fii listened as she chewed down her lip.

I do not really understand, but the way Fii writes her letters seems to be okay.

(that……?)

After thinking, Fii had a bit of doubt.

(By the way, where did I learn how to write my letters from?)

It is certain that I didn’t learn it from Lynette, because I could already write it when I met Lynette.

I tried to remember but I could not remember.

“Oh, I guess we should write it, one more time.”

“Er!”

“It’s a condition of participation, do it properly.”

“Ugh!”

Fii gave up writing the rules after writing them three times.
