Chapter 19.2 – A Pair of Salted Fish.

You Qiuqiu neatly greeted her predecessors as a newcomer. Most of the big-name celebrities were busy and just nodded at her, then they quickly scurried past.

《Hello Acting》 will ask the actors to compete with their skills on the same stage. In this kind of situation, they will be divided into several groups. You Qiuqiu came early in the morning, and she sat on the soft that the program group provided. Just as she was nodding off, her partner appeared.

The person who came in was very tall, pale, and stylish. Their hair was dyed a honeyed gold, making his refined facial features softer. This along with their monolid eyes, (which exposed dimples when they smiled) gave off the impression that this person was in their youth. Their style was more of a youngster’s than a mature man’s.

The youngster’s name was Fang Shubai. He just turned nineteen this year, and a proud member of that Chinese male idol group that just debuted this year. He had been crammed into the show by the company in an attempt to pour some hype into him.

After Fang Shubai introduced himself, he tried to comfort You Qiuqiu.

“I am in my second year at the Film Academy,” he said. “Have you finished the college entrance exams yet? Don’t worry, I’ve got your back!”

Before, when he had looked around at big names and senior actors and actresses in the entertainment industry, he was left nearly shaking, but upon seeing You Qiuqiu, he relaxed… Just a little.

Finding a kindred spirit was always reassuring. His focus this time was to find newbies like him, warm up to them, and maybe even be able to put on the air of a ‘big brother’.

“You said you were from the Film Academy?” You Qiuqiu asked.

“Yeah,” Fang Shubai nodded.

He thought that You Qiuqiu wanted to ask him how to get admitted and become a student of the Film Academy, making him very proud to be a student of the Film Academy.

“If you want to know what’s on the Art Skills Examination, I can…” he started.

“I’m your senior. Feel free to call me ‘big sister’.”

She didn’t expect to meet someone so much younger than her here.

Fang Shubai’s smile dropped, and he looked at You Qiuqiu bewildered. After examining her, she doesn’t seem to be any more famous than him.

I-is she really is not a high school student??

Fang Shubai didn’t believe it. Finally, You Qiuqiu directly took out her ID card, making Feng Shubai recognize her (finally) as being older. He made clear of their relative distance and called her senior, reluctantly.

The two of them were given a script, and they earnestly began to rehearse.

Fang Shubai watched You Qiuqiu paralyzed in her chair after all the memorizing, reciting, rehearsing, and even after the staff members left for dinner.

“Senior sister, you don’t want to eat?”

You Qiuqiu shook his head, “No food. I’m wanting to lose weight right now.”

Fang Shubai seemed sympathetic, “Senior sister, would you like to go out with me to eat something…”

You Qiuqiu had an expression that said something like “it’s your fault if I get fat!” She had already told him that she wanted to lose weight…

“Salad?” he offered.

“No meat,” she demanded.

What’s so good about salad? You Quiqui thought. She doesn’t enjoy eating grass.

Fang Shubai continued, “It’s a secret recipe, tasty, nutritious, and very healthy.”

You Qiuqiu, who don’t have any energy, stood up slowly, “Where? Let’s get there already.”

It wasn’t like she had zero-self control, she was just blunt sometimes. This is the major reason You Qiuqiu hadn’t grown meat over these last few years. She can’t eat dishes with generous amounts of meat and fish right now, but salad is fine.

Who can refuse such few pleasant words!

“Who’s rehearsing in here?”

A well-dressed woman passed by their room. She was seemingly not so young, and she’s not too good-looking compared to her peers in the entertainment industry. Despite this, arrogance rolled off of her. Enough to make others feel uncomfortable.

She was also a guest invited by the show, and because of her image issues, even though she debuted early and acted in many movies and TV shows, she was always relegated into supporting roles… a forgettable woman who was never famous.

Over the past two years, with the support of the show’s audience, the acting show had begun to be more and more popular. The staff members also relied on experienced actors, inviting many veteran actors and actresses to bring their heat onto the show.

The staff was busy. A little annoyed by the woman’s demands, but because they didn’t want to clash with their guest stars, they still answered her question. “That is You Qiuqiu’s room.”

“Oh.”

“That internet celebrity,” she replied. A little too loudly.

You Qiuqiu was classified as an Internet celebrity.

She had actually known that this was You Qiuqiu’s practice room. She had come here to find faults in You Qiuqiu.

Actually, this actress and You Qiuqiu hadn’t known each other. They’d never even met before. The reason she came was pure ones. She purely hated You Qiuqiu.

Why does ‘You Qiuqiu’ appear at the tippy-top of so many hot searches?! This girl was invited by the show’s team at such a young age, and it was already hard for this senior actress to even take part in any show. She also had an instinctive dislike for any woman who was prettier than she was.

She’d heard little about the company behind You Qiuqiu, and most of them had no background in… well, anything. That’s why she even dared to bully her.

“I’ll go in and see how the people are.”

The actress reaches out and pushes the door.

“Excuse me, ma’am…”

The staff wanted to stop her, as they felt she was trying to be antagonistic, but because of the nature of their work, they hesitated, and didn’t stop her.

The actress of course was still acting big by loudly mocking You Qiuqiu with her ‘I’m older’ attitude… until she saw the empty training room.

“Where did she go?!” she shouted, dumbfounded.

The person she was looking for had already slipped away with Fang Shubai.

They ran happily like lively children running home after school towards the salad shop. The same shop that Fang Shubai had promised was delicious.

You Qiuqiu didn’t know that she had dodged a liar’s game, her head full of delicious, wonderful salads. Here I come!
