Chapter 59 – The Cornered Daughter (Lilianne’s Point of View)
Countess Lilianne Lemieule was on the edge of a cliff.
There is no one on her side anywhere, and Robin is the only one she can trust.
The Lemieule family is a respectable aristocratic family with a venerable bloodline.
Her father is the vice-commander of the Order of the Knights, and her mother is said to be one of the most socially prominent ladies.
From generation to generation, sons are obliged to belong to the knighthood, and daughters are treated as tools of political maneuvering.
As a political tool, she is required to be perfectly cultured and well-behaved. Of course, showing one's emotions is not allowed.
Lilianne, too, had to hide her true feelings both at home and outside the home.
Because she was born a woman and not a man, she was always harshly criticized by those around her.
The only woman who could take over the family is Princess Mia, whose mother has absolute power. This is not the case in an ordinary family. But the Lemieule family has no male heirs.
Currently, Lilianne's fiancé, whom her father found on his own, is set to take over the Lemieule family in the future.
Torre Tolbert - a man with a very hard-headed mindset who belongs to the Knights, and whose hobbies and specialties are muscle training.
......They didn't seem to get along.
Lilianne was naturally active, and as a child, she climbed trees, fished in the garden, and played freely.
However, when she grew up and her governess began to teach her studies and manners, she was forbidden to do all of these things. If she even slightly deviated from the "ideal daughter" as they called her, she was repeatedly slapped on the wrist with a whip.
Gradually, Lilianne began to smile less, talk less, and not act on her initiative - like her mother, who was called "one of the leading ladies of society".
She was not happy about it, but her fiancé, Torre, got excited on his own.
He doesn't even look at Lilianne's inner life.
"What's so great about it? It's so stupid."
She couldn't make a place for herself inside or outside the house, couldn't confide her true feelings to anyone, and was so distressed and bitter ...... that she always hid in a corner of the library and shed tears. Because at home, the maid would tell her parents.
In the library, there are few visitors, and depending on your position, you can avoid seeing anyone.
It was then that Lilianne met Robin.
"Hey, hey, hey, what's wrong~? Why are you crying, you're ruining your beauty~?"
The young man who called out to her was an aristocrat whom she did not recognize. He was very beautiful looking.
The skin is wheat-colored, which is rare in a royal palace, the face is chiseled and sweet, and the eyes are full of sex appeal and luster.
Lilianne, who had been admiring him, suddenly came to herself and adjusted her demeanor.
"It's nothing."
As usual, she put on the mask of an aristocratic daughter and brushed them off without hesitation.
But Robin did not back down.
"It's not a 'nothing' look~, let me hear it~. You're a minor aristocrat with no influence, so I think it's easier for you to talk to me~?"
Maybe it was magic, or maybe the bitterness had gone beyond the limit.
Lillianne told Robin everything that had happened to her.
Robin kindly listened to Lilianne's words.
He was the only person who had ever treated her that way, and Lilianne let her guard down. No one in the mansion cared about her, a "political tool".
"Don't worry, I'm on your side."
"What's your name?"
"My name is Robin. I'm the son of the Baron de Revision. What is your name?"
Lilianne was flustered by the unexpected closeness to the man. But Robin was unconcerned.
"Being a countess, it's hard work, isn't it? Isn't it about time you were asked to get married?"
"Yes, well."
"I'll make it easy for you, Lillianne."
Smiling, Robin gently held Lillianne's hand.
A faint light leaked out from where he touched Lillianne's hand, and it felt as if all the depression inside her was vanishing.
"What's this?"
"My special magic. It's the power to help those who are suffering."
The sadness that had been building up in my heart fades, and the suffering is purified.
"Master Robin..."
"You can call me by my name. I'm just a lowly man."
"I understand. Thank you, Robin. Thanks to you, I feel a little better."
After that, Lillianne spent more and more time with Robin in the library.
―― And so, she drowned in him.
It's easy to be with Robin because he's the only one who helped her find her true self...
※
And now Lilianne has been kicked out of her home after her parents found out about her meeting with Robin.
Someone must have tipped off the family.
Either Her Royal Highness the Princess or another daughter who has a crush on Robin...
Her family was unkind to Lilianne.
"You are a disgrace to me, you miserable girl! You have ruined everything!"
"How could you have been secretly seeing another man when you are already engaged? You were very close to him. How could she have been so poorly educated as to disgrace her mother?"
"We don't need her! Your sister Luluanne will be married to your groom and take over the Countess's house! Get out! Now!"
With only a small bag and a small amount of money in her hand, Lilianne was thrown out into the city, without knowing what to do. It is raining outside, and there is no suitable place to shelter from the rain.
She was humiliated to be seen in her current attire.
A girl of good looks standing out in the rain unaccompanied was obviously for a reason.
It was then that Lilianne went to the royal library.
The people at the palace, who did not know that Lilianne had been disowned, looked at her soaking wet appearance with some embarrassment, but let her through to the library as usual.
"Robin, Robin, Robin. Help me. ......"
Robin is the only person on her side. Lilianne clung to his hand as he appeared in the library.
Robin kindly listened to Lilianne's worries and with a look of heartfelt sympathy said, "It's okay, it's okay."
"Don't worry, don't worry, Lillianne. I'm here to help you."
When he touched me, I felt lighthearted again.
Robin's magic is a holy power that saves people from suffering.
"But first, I need you to do me one favor. It's something only you can do."
