Chapter 51: - July 18 (Saturday): Meeting At The Park In Morning
It was 6:30 in the morning on Saturday.
I was waiting for Yuika at a park a little far from my house.
I had decided to accompany her on a dog walk as a way to improve my assisting skills, but apparently the dog was quite a nuisance.
For one thing, I liked dogs, so I wasn’t afraid of a big dog.
But even Yuika was hesitant to say anything about it.
I think I should be cautious here.
As I waited at the entrance of the park, the familiar high school girl called out to me.
“Good morning, Onii-San.”
“Hey, Yuika.”
Today, she was wearing a T-shirt and jeans to make it easier to walk around.
Oops. I should compliment her on her outfit here.
My complementing skills improved quite a bit, so maybe even Yuika would get embarrassed.
Hmm …. That’s not a bad idea.
I’d like to see Yuika’s high school girl-like expression once in a while.
Thus, I began complimenting her.
“You look good in that dress.”
“Thank you for the compliment. But you need to work on your vocabulary.”
Strangely enough, Yuika sighed heavily.
She looked as if she wanted to say, ‘You haven’t grown up at all.’
“Onii-San. Why are you so bad at making girls happy?”
“It’s a skill I’ve never needed in my life.”
“Oh, I get it. You mean you never had a girlfriend.”
I twitched my eyebrows and swept my gaze over her.
“I had a … girlfriend. I had one …… in college.” (T/N: Damn that was a surprise didn’t expect this)
Yeah, that’s right. There was a time when I had a girlfriend, too.
But men, as a species, do not like to talk about their old girlfriends.
However, it would make me look like a real man if I told her I had a girlfriend in college.
It would make Yuika think twice about me.
Immediately, she asked me a question.
“How long did it take you to break up?”
“How low are your expectations of me?”
…. We were already talking about breaking up in a few minutes.
Yuika seemed to think that I was unattractive as a man.
一We’ve been talking for over a month now.
It’s time for you to realize how attractive I am. High school girl.
“Don’t say it like it was a quick breakup. We’ve had it for a while. It’s not like we broke up in a few days.”
“He~. That’s great. Onii-San used to be a lot better than he is now.”
“…. than now. … You know what? If I wasn’t so busy with work, I’d have a girlfriend.”
“That’s it. That’s what unattractive people always say.”
If you say I am not unattractive, I don’t know what to say.
In the end, I don’t know if my relationship with Otomizu was moving forward or not, and I couldn’t even ask her if she had a boyfriend in the first place.
However, It would be dishonest of me as an ex-instructor to be so conscious of Otomizu.
