Chapter 493 – Spreading Positive Energy

“An abortion?” Gramps Ren snorted, “Abortions can be damaging, I’m still expecting her to give birth to an even more talented martial artist.”

Since Xiao Qin was a martial arts genius, it seems gramps Ren had high expectations of Auntie Ren’s progeny. Xiao Qin, who became aware of her female identity and thus stopped practicing martial arts, must have disappointed gramps Ren.

“She can’t get an abortion just because she wants to. I have to let her understand that I’m not an incompetent good-for-nothing father.”

Gramps Ren vowed before telling me to keep an eye on developments and report back to him, then he hung up.

When I was in grade school, there was a girl in my class who loved to tattletale to the teacher. At the time, I didn’t understand her mindset, but I got an indescribable thrill after I tattled to gramps.

I’m not sure if Auntie Ren is going to get a headache over her meddlesome father. I tattled with good intentions, so I don’t think I would get punished by the gods.

I suddenly felt I was being followed.

I used my peripheral vision and it wasn’t Xiao Qin. The person had a short stature and a childish appearance.

It was getting darker after I ate dinner at Xiao Qin’s place. I stopped and looked back at the person. With the assistance of the street lights, I was able to see the person that followed me down the street was a 8 or 9 year old girl with a ponytail.

She began crying when she saw my face, “It’s not daddy, it’s not daddy~~~”

Of course I’m not your dad, you probably followed the wrong person at the intersection. It looks like your dad is pretty confused if he’s not properly looking after his daughter.

I couldn’t leave a little girl alone in an era where lolicons are rampant, so I stayed with her top wait for her dad. She kept crying because she was scared by my face, so it inevitably caused passersby to look at us.

I was helpless but I saw a police booth across the street. I held the little girl’s hand and crossed the street with her. I opened the door of the police booth and decided to let the officers take care of her.

It was strange because the girl stopped crying once I held her hand, but it seems like it wasn’t because she was comforted but rather because she was afraid I would kill her if she kept crying.

After I entered the booth, I saw one old and one young police officer inside. The old police officer was drinking tea and the young police officer looked like a fresh recruit. The young police officer looked at me with vigilance, then he saw me holding hands with a girl too afraid to cry and he immediately asked:

“What are you trying to do? What are your demands?”

Do you think I’m holding her as a hostage? Is it that hard to believe I’m trying to do something good?

The old officer behind him was clearly more experienced and knowledgeable, he understood that a kind face doesn’t mean a kind heart and an evil face doesn’t mean an evil heart. The old officer took a sip of the warm tea and said in a composed manner:

“The kid is lost, right? Do you know her?”

I said I didn’t know her and only bumped into her by chance. Her dad may be nearby and could have a similar body type to me otherwise she wouldn’t have mistaken me for her father.

The old officer nodded and recorded everything down. He then took the little girl from me by her hand and comforted her:

“Don’t be scared~~ I’m going to help you find your father. Here, come say goodbye to the kind-hearted older brother.”

It looks like police officers are great with children. The little girl waved shyly and said, “Bye, big brother.”

I turned around coolly and waved goodbye to the officers and the girl. I wanted to leave them with a lasting impression of my back figure.

After walking a while and feeling good about doing a good deed, I bumped into the three triad members after I turned a corner.

I frowned, “What, does Xiao Qin’s father want to speak to me again? Can’t he finish everything in one conversation?”

Uncle Long adjusted his eye patch and said seriously: “I only came to remind you to not forget the leader’s warning.”

The fatty to his right said: “That’s right, since you’re the leader’s future son-in-law, then you can only be nice to the the second miss. If you have an ambiguous relationship with other girls, then we might have to teach you a lesson.”

The skinny one on the left said: “Why did you help the girl who was lost? It’s clear you didn’t have good intentions and you probably wanted her to show you her gratitude to you ten years later. Doing this kind of stuff is not allowed in the future.”

I was furious to the point I almost died from anger.

I think the scope you guys care about is way too wide. I could still admit it if you called me a lolicon for helping an 8 year old girl, but you’re saying I’m going to wait ten years for her gratitude? If that was the case, it would be more reliable for me to help cranes or a frog.

Uncle Long might have thought the skinny guys words were a bit undue. In order to mediate he introduced them to me:

“The fat one’s nickname is ‘Fat Tiger’, you can call him Uncle Hu. The skinny one’s nickname is ‘Thin Leopard’, you can call him Uncle Bao. As for me, the second miss usually calls me Uncle Long…”

I stuck my hands in my pockets and said in a bad mood: “Why are you guys following me instead of protecting Xiao Qin?”

“The second miss told us to not get too close, it would be bad if we were caught by the madam.”

The ‘madam’ he referred to was obviously Auntie Ren.

“The leader told us he could tell your character from your appearance and he knows your going to be a playboy. If we don’t watch you, you’re going to do something wrong. We were told to keep an eye on you, so you better watch out…”

Uncle Bao reminded me.

Damn, you guys are questioning me for so long after I only sent a little girl to the police. What are you guys going to do if I go the class leader’s house for food?

Coincidentally, a taxi drove by from the side. I beckoned the driver to stop and quickly slipped into the car.

“Where to?” The driver asked as he looked at me from the rear view mirror.

“Leave this street first.” I yelled, “I’ll tell you the way once we leave.”

The driver glanced at the three triad members and immediately stepped on the gas. We drove far away before he said:

“Ah, those three looks like criminals, youngster… you…”

He swallowed his words after he got a clear look at my appearance. I suspect he was going to say ‘youngster, are you being chased by the triads?’

After I went home, I took out the trash before I went to sleep. I realized Uncle Long didn’t follow me, but Uncle Hu and Uncle Bao were creeping about outside of my place.

I felt uncomfortable and was planning to report it to Xiao Qin. But unexpectedly, the private detective Ai ShuQiao hired bumped into Uncle Hu and Uncle Bao because he was also monitoring me, and they gave the private detective a beating.

I guess that counts as doing a good deed for me.

Another unexpected matter was in order to stop Auntie Ren’s abortion, gramps Ren actually found the phone number of Auntie Ren’s gynecologist friend and pinched his nose and threatened her: If she made Auntie Ren have a miscarriage, then he would kidnap her on her way home and make her wish she was dead.

Those are the actions of a criminal rather than a respected senior! But it was unexpectedly effective because Auntie Ren’s ex-husband was a criminal. So the gynecologist classmate who heard about Auntie Ren’s ex-husband was afraid of retribution and refused to help Auntie Ren.

Then gramps Ren urged his son, the chairman of Qing Zi Academy, to call his sister home so they could have a long talk. It was probably a chance for them to tell her it was a golden opportunity and she should take it while she was still relatively young.

Auntie Ren didn’t know where the information was leaked, but she was still stubborn when faced against her father and brother. Her attitude was that the child was hers and it was her right to choose if it would be born or not.

Gramps Ren knew his daughter was always stubborn. H knew he couldn’t convince her, so he thought about the Americans.

He told the director and other staff members of the ‘Magic Cauldron’ that Auntie Ren was pregnant and she wanted an abortion which caused some unexpected results.

The American director was raised in a Catholic family, so he felt abortions were against God’s will. He and Auntie Ren discussed this matter secretly several times, something about how it does not matter if it affects her job and causes delays, but she had to give birth or he would view her as guilty. Then, he said his conscience will not allow him to continue to work with her, and they will have to talk with the investors whether they should change the martial arts director or the director.

Some how, the news also traveled to the male protagonist of the film, Kyle. Kyle, who had always admired Auntie Ren, painfully told her that an abortion is a violation of human rights. He said if she didn’t want to raise the child, then she can give it to him to raise. He had many actor friends who adopted Asian orphans, and he felt he wasn’t keeping up with the times if he does not follow in suit.

For Auntie Ren, who was extremely dedicated to her work, she would not give up half way because of this.

So the abortion was put temporarily on hold. Auntie Ren used every possible mean so her daughter wouldn’t find out while she tried to think of a non-existent perfect plan.

My continued as normal. Other than the extra Uncle Hu and Uncle Bao monitoring me, nothing else changed.

On Monday, the postponed volleyball game finally took place.

The combination of the class leader and Xiong YaoYue was unstoppable and they took down their opponents easily to defend their crown.

I got to see the class leader’s shorts as I had hoped, as well as her valiant figure as she darted for the ball.

But I didn’t see any boob shakes.

It wasn’t a problem with size, but it was like they already agreed to all wear a sports bra beforehand.

Damn the inventor of the sports bra. I hope they always run out of tissue paper when they use the washroom.

After the class leader put the volleyball award for first place on the back wall of the classroom, Loud Mouth proposed that the whole class should go to a buffet in the evening to celebrate the double victories (boys’ basketball and girls’ volleyball), which was unanimously welcomed by the foodies.
