Chapter 740: Devil God’s Power

Ou Yangming shut his eyes in the blood-red environment, but the red lights were still in view.

Nonetheless, he still did not panic at all.

It was indeed energy-consuming to release his Military Fire, but he also had various special abilities to keep prolonging the process. Even so, the young fellow did not do that this time. Once he released his Military Fire to the withstandable limit for an Intermediate Spiritualist, he withdrew it decisively.

With that, the numerous blood lines, which were obstructed by his Military Fire, drew in toward him right away to seize him.

The red lines were filled with peculiar energies and were unbelievably powerful. Not only could they restrict one’s movement, but they could also invade one’s sea of consciousness to reach the center.

Perhaps this was the real reason the 10,000-legged Venerable One was afraid of it.

Bizarre energies kept invading Ou Yangming’s body. Under his intentional control, the energies were not disturbed at all and occupied his body almost very smoothly.

Ou Yangming’s sea of consciousness was also invaded by blood lines. The strange energies naturally entered the most mysterious area for every living being after they occupied his body.

“Hehe, Brother Blood Shadow, what a great trick.” The 10,000-legged Venerable One laughed. “Very few things in the Spiritual Realm can trap the Heavenly Phoenix Fire.”

Blood Shadow grinned. “This fella might’ve grasped the Heavenly Phoenix Fire, but his cultivation base is very low, so he can’t truly unleash the divine fire’s mightiness. If not, my blood lines couldn’t have succeeded.”

The 10,000-legged Venerable One fell silent for a brief moment before it nodded.

If Ou Yangming’s Heavenly Phoenix Fire could be on par with that of Feng Xiang, Blood Shadow would not have dared to take the risk.

Nevertheless, it was extremely rare for the red figure to come this far.

“Brother Blood Shadow, how long do you need to get the truth out of him?” The 10,000-legged Venerable One asked in a deep voice.

Blood Shadow could not help but laugh. “What are you worried about?”

The 10,000-legged Venerable One hesitated for a while before it explained, “This young fella’s the Phoenixes’ messenger, after all. If he still has other special abilities, we won’t be able to guard against him.”

“Don’t worry, since he’s being trapped by my blood lines, he won’t be able to break free even if a celestial being comes,” Blood Shadow responded proudly. It paused for a moment and added as though it wanted to assure the 10,000-legged Venerable One, “I told you—this power can resist the Phoenixes, so don’t worry.”

The 10,000-legged Venerable One smiled bitterly. As it looked at the big red cocoon that was getting thicker in the air, it did not say anything, but it was feeling somewhat uneasy.

It shook its head and cast its worry aside.

Even if Ou Yangming was the Phoenixes’ messenger, his cultivation base was too low for him to fully unleash the Phoenixes’ power. It would only be right for him to not be able to escape, so why should it worry?

Blood Shadow looked coldly in front with its hands behind its back. Its mental conception was communicating with numerous blood lines as it controlled them to enter Ou Yangming’s sea of consciousness.

Despite that, a puzzled look could suddenly be seen in Blood Shadow’s eyes. It realized that after the blood lines’ powers entered Ou Yangming’s sea of consciousness, it lost connection with them.

The little Intermediate Spiritualist’s sea of consciousness seemed to be an endless black hole that had a marvelous trick to cut off connections with the outside world. Once Blood Shadow’s powers entered the space, they immediately vanished.

“Brother Blood Shadow, what’s wrong?” The 10,000-legged Venerable One asked seriously.

It paid a lot of attention to Blood Shadow, so much so that it kept an eye on even the slightest change of its expression.

Blood Shadow scoffed and said, “The Phoenixes’ messenger has some special abilities indeed, but it’s okay, I’ll show him what real powers look like.”

Unusual lusters could be seen flickering in its eyes. Subsequently, the blood lines that were accumulated in the air seemed to have become stronger and more massive.

So what if Ou Yangming was the Phoenixes’ messenger? He was still a human, after all, and his cultivation base was low. As long as Blood Shadow had the power to resist the Heavenly Phoenix Fire, he was confident about torturing the young fellow to his death.

In his opinion, the peculiar state in Ou Yangming’s body was a trump card given by Feng Xiang.

Having said that, Blood Shadow was certain that Ou Yangming did not send any help signal while he was being trapped by the blood lines. In that case, the young fellow was using his power or energy stored by Feng Xiang in his body to resist the attacks.

If that was the case, Blood Shadow was confident that it would get the last laugh.

However, how could it have thought that there was a different scene inside Ou Yangming’s body?

Inside the young fellow’s sea of consciousness, his Military Fire had automatically curbed itself and was replaced by the giant head.

The head had long widened its large mouth, which looked like it could devour everything. Its mouth seemed to have an endless suction, where any red light that entered Ou Yangming’s sea of consciousness would be drawn into the mouth by a queer power.

After being replenished by the blood lines, the head was incredibly delighted, by which it kept shaking its head to express its joy.

Ou Yangming was relieved. Sure enough, with the Devouring attribute as the center, as well as the head that was condensed from the Dragon Coffin and other unique energies, an unimaginable power burst out to deal with the weird red lines.

The red lines could resist even the Heavenly Phoenix Fire, but they were helpless against the head.

From the head’s perspective, the red lines were food, and they were the most delicious food ever. The more the food, the better it would be; the giant head would never be satisfied.

As more food gushed into Ou Yangming’s sea of consciousness, he could sense the head’s power increasing.

In his sea of consciousness, there used to be only one greatest energy, which was the Military Fire. As his cultivation base improved, the fire had also developed steadily and became the most important trump card for him.

In particular, after being guided by Feng Xiang, Ou Yangming’s fire changed substantially.

That said, the giant head was constantly devouring the invading red lines at the moment, causing it to become mightier.

In a way, the red lines were Blood Shadow’s origin energy. Unless it was absolutely confident, it would not attack using this energy. The giant head was devouring the purest energy at this moment, which was why it grew significantly.

Although Blood Shadow was far less able than Feng Xiang, Feng Xiang would not have given its origin energy to Ou Yangming.

It was unexpected that the phoenix powerhouse was able to guide Ou Yangming. Therefore, in terms of contribution only, Blood Shadow helped the giant head upgrade more than Feng Xiang did.

After obtaining Blood Shadow’s origin energy, the giant head’s momentum was enhanced at an unordinary speed.

When the momentum reached an extremity, it could vaguely become the Military Fore’s peer competition.

At this point, even Ou Yangming shuddered with fear, but this was great news for him.

He curled his lips into a smile and waited fervently. The more the odd yet powerful blood lines, the better.

While Ou Yangming was delighted, Blood Shadow’s face slowly took on a ghastly look.

‘Impossible—this is impossible!’

This was the only thing that Blood Shadow was thinking of at the moment.

It had channeled its origin energy into Ou Yangming’s sea of consciousness without an end because its foundation was more profound than the young fellow. As such, it believed that no matter what defensive trick Feng Xiang left in the fellow’s body, it would be destroyed by its power.

Who knew, even when Blood Shadow released nearly a third of its origin power, Ou Yangming’s sea of consciousness was still similar to an unpredictably deep sea. Not to mention crumbling the sea of consciousness, it had no idea where its borders and bottom line were.

‘Does this sea of consciousness really belong to an Intermediate Spiritualist?’

Blood Shadow gritted its teeth and suddenly thought about flinching, thus it instantly acted.

Given that it could muster its courage at once to cut its losses, it was considered a resolute and ruthless person.

“Hum…”

Blood Shadow shouted all of a sudden and moved its wrist inward. As a result, the blood lines that were initially being released stopped and were drawn inward into its body.

The 10,000-legged Venerable One was surprised. ‘Has Blood Shadow successfully gotten what it wanted? But judging from how flustered it looks, it doesn’t seem like it.’

Next, the Venerable One widened its eyes.

This was because it suddenly spotted a strange giant thing above Ou Yangming’s head.

It was a giant head, whose end was connected to the young fellow’s head. It looked as if he had become a creature with 2 heads.

As soon as the head appeared, it widened its mouth, which was deemed humongous by even the 10,000-legged Venerable One, and sucked the air.

Consequently, the blood lines that were seemingly omnipresent in the air gathered and kept gushing into the mouth.

It took only a split second for all of the blood lines to no longer be controlled by Blood Shadow and be snatched by the enormous mouth with force instead.

“Puff…”

Blood Shadow spat out blood. Its mind and momentum were declining at this moment.

The blood lines around Ou Yangming had disappeared long ago. He stared at Blood Shadow and the 10,000-legged Venerable One, then he flashed into the secret realm at lightning speed.

Upon seeing this, the 10,000-legged Venerable One’s face changed. It was also fearful of the giant head that appeared out of nowhere, but it feared the Phoenixes more.

It must not let Ou Yangming escape no matter what.

Without any hesitation, the 10,000-legged Venerable One followed the young fellow closely and entered the secret realm.

As for Blood Shadow, it lost its complexion and was slowly collapsing to the ground. It was pale as it mumbled the same words repeatedly.

“Sire Devil God, Sir Devil God…”
