Chapter 25: Risky plan

Rey didn't know if he could or couldn't, but he knew one thing for sure and that was 'he didn't want to feel that feeling of powerlessness again'. That was also the reason that even after knowing he could die by coming here, he still came.

If he wanted he could have just stayed in the village and spend all his time chasing after skirts. Sooner or later he would achive elite Jonin level if not kage level. He could very well make a harem and live that life of bliss as long as he lived.

However he was risking it all to never feel that powerless again.

' It's not a matter of 'Can I' or 'Can I not'.

I will achieve that level of power and then I will surpass even that, No matter what!! ' Rey promised to himself.

Rey alongside Boruto watched the intense fight, which was full of ups and downs, Sometimes it titled in their favor and sometime it didn't. 

Even with Naruto using tailed beast mode, he was overpowered by the gaint golem of Momoshiki, but with Sasuke assisting him by using the susanoo's power, they were able to take him down.

" Amazing! " Boruto said as he looked at Sasuke and Naruto is a new light.

Rey had already made a shadow clone and was absorbing nature energy alongside him, ready to do everything in his power if things went wrong. As for why he made a shadow clone, it was simply because he knew by entering sage mode by himself he would only be able to use that power once even though for a longer period, but by using shadow clone he could enter sage mode twice even though for a shorter period.

As the fight with Momoshiki ended with him falling to the ground in a terrible state, the other kages started discussing about what to do next.

Howerevr Naruto stopped their plans as he said that even though Momoshiki was injured, the battle was still not over yet.

" Hey they are over here.

  Hurry. "

" Alright we made it in time." Katasuke said, causing everyone to turn to look at him.

" Katasuke?

  Wha?

  How'd they... " Naruto voiced out in surprise.

" Make sure to record this. " Katasuke said as he jumped down from the cliff.

" Yes sir. " His assistant answered as he started fixing the camera.

" I know you are still breathing!!

  I will finish you off with my scientific ninja tool!! " Katasuke shouted as he raised his hand towards Momoshiki, ready to take all the fame for himself. 

" No, fool!

  DON'T!! " Naruto shouted quickly, but his words fell on deaf ears.

" TAKE THIS! " Katasuke voiced with madness in his eyes.

" BAMMM!!! "

However instead of the sound of firing jutsu, everyone heard the sound of something hitting the ground at a very high speed.

To their surprise and relief, it was Katasuke who had just been kicked in the back of his head, resulting in his body hitting the ground, causing him to lose consciousness.

Everyone looked at the person standing beside Katasuke only to find it was none other than Rey.

The instant Rey heard Katasuke's voice, he knew that he was about to do something stupid, That's why he immediately took off towards his direction.

Being in sage mode, Rey's speed was enough for him reach that idiot just as he was about to use his scientific ninja tool. 

Initially, Rey thought about using a lightning bolt to deal with Katasuke, but knew that if he missed, there would be no way to stop him again, So he decided to sneakily approach him.

Just as Rey reached near Katasuke, he jumped and directly kicked his head just strong enough to knock him out.

Rey looked at the unconscious Katasuke for a moment before turning to look at the Kages and Sasuke.

Naruto showed a thumbs up with a smile and said.

" Nice work, Rey. " 

The others also nodded to show their approval, but there was also someone who wanted nothing more than to kill Rey and he was none other than Momoshiki. 

" YOU INFERIOR CREATURES.

    I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU. " Momoshiki shouted and immediately threw the Shadow paralysis jutsu he absorbed from Shikamaru to bind all the kages and Sasuke.

Being distracted by that little incident, Naruto and the others weren't fast enough to escape, resulting in them getting paralyzed by the jutsu.

Momoshiki didn't waste any time and manifested black rods similar to Pain's and threw them towards the kages and Sasuke, resulting in the rods getting embedded into their body, disrupting their chakra flow and preventing them from moving.

" It's time to DIE!! " Momoshiki said as he raised his hand to launch another jutsu.

Rey who had already reached Boruto's location while all this was happening, said to him.

" Boruto, I have a plan, but the chances of success is not high.

That's why I need you to do as I say without asking anything."

Boruto initially wanted to complain but seeing the serious look on Rey's face, he gave up and nodded.

Rey nodded back at him and then dispersed his shadow clone, making him enter sage mode once again.

" Summoning jutsu "

Immediately Rey bit his thumb and performed summoning jutsu, causing Gamaki to appear.

Gamaki being as alert as always, immediately understood the situation just with a few words from Rey.

" Go. " Rey commanded after giving orders to Gamaki, causing him to say his usual phrase ' I will try my best ' and jump directly toward Momoshiki.

Momoshiki who was about to release the jutsu, turned to look at the huge cloud of smoke, only to see a gaint toad leaping in the air, directly headed towards his position with a sasumata in his hand.

Momoshiki being already injured, felt danger from Gamaki and instantly pointed his hand towards Gamaki and fired the jutsu towards his direction. 

Gamaki however took out the shield from his back and easily defended against that dangerous fire jutsu.

Seeing the toad not stopping, the sense of danger inside Momoshiki heightened, forcing him to use the last of his strength to perform ' INUKAI TAKERUNO MIKOTO ' which basically created snake like  creatures to come out of the ground and attack Gamaki.

Even with him being midair, Gamaki skillfully used his shield and Sasumata to defend himself.

However after a few moments, one of those creatures managed to bit Gamaki's leg just as he landed on the ground. Seeing that a smirk appeared on Momoshiki's face as he made the other creatures quickly advance to kill Gamaki.

However, Momoshiki suddenly felt another danger from behind and his instincts kicked in to quickly move but his injured and weakened state delayed his reaction by a moment.

" PUCHI !!! "

" Arrghh!! " Momoshiki shrieked as he looked down, only to find the tip of a kunai coming out from his left side of the chest.

Rey didn't hesitate to pull out the kunai and quickly back away as far as possible as he knew if he was caught, he would die without a doubt.

Rey had told Gamaki about his plan as soon as he appeared, In which Gamaki's job was to try to kill Momoshiki if possible otherwise get his attention as much as possible.

Gamaki had done his job flawlessly, giving Rey the opportunity to circle around and get behind Momoshiki. 

Rey had two options in front of him at that point, One was to try to get those black rods out of Naruto and the other's while another was to try to kill Momoshiki by himself.

Rey knew that in both cases he would die if he was discovered, but Rey knew that those black rods were used as some sort of transmitter by Pain. That's why he was sure that Momoshiki would know as soon as he touched those rods, leaving him with only the other option.

Rey knew that his actions against Katasuke weren't meant to happen and that's why he wasn't sure whether he would be able to make it out of there alive if he didn't do anything.
