Aito Toda was looking at his father’s body laying on the ground with wide disbelieving eyes.

He was too late, that was what was running through his mind right now.

His deep blue oceanic eyes were flickering with red shade. Quirks contain a part of the consciousness of the user. So, quirks will also respond to the extreme emotions of the user.

That was what was happening right now, Aito’s still-developing quirk was responding to his emotions right now. Classic Shonen plot where, the character attains some development and a power-up, but not in my novel.

*snap*

Just as Aito was falling into the pits of despair a snapping sound resounded in the dark night.

In front of Aito’s disbelieving eyes, his father stood up snapping his head back in the right direction, the hole in his head closing at a visible rate.

“That hurt.”

Taiga said, looking at Aito with a gentle gaze. A gentle gaze in Taiga’s perspective that is.

To Aito, he could see the unbridled rage in Taiga’s gaze, he knew it was not directed at him. But he couldn’t help but have a cold sweat rolling down his back.

Contrary to Taiga’s normal saint-looking appearance, with clear blue oceanic eyes with spectacles suiting him, and a neat and tidy appearance, now he looked more like a devil with his glasses long gone, his pupils turned red, disheveled hair, blood, and dirt on his once neat and tidy white shirt.

A gentle smile marred his devilish appearance. Somehow this contradicting appearance didn’t make him look creepier, but it made him look more handsome, a devilishly handsome face would be a more appropriate expression. (Fuck, I didn’t find the pic I was looking for.)

“bah?” (What?)- Aito muttered through his taped mouth

Aito couldn’t believe what was transpiring in front of him. At one movement his father was shot in the head and bam and now he is standing up with a smirk on his face.

*Bang*

Before he could think of anything else. His father moved, moved him out of the trajectory of the bullet that was heading for his head.

Aito couldn’t even follow his father’s movement with his eyes.

From Aito stabbing the blonde man to his father moving him out of the sniper’s trajectory it all happened in less than thirty-second.

“Alex, catch the sniper.”

Taiga spoke in a low voice but it was heard by Alex who was running towards them and he blinked out of existence.

Taiga looked at Aito and removed the tape from his mouth gently.

He gently asked.

“Are you ok?”

“Don’t worry, your father is here now.”

Taiga saw that, Aito was looking at his head and said cheerfully,

“Your father is all fine, see, that was just a prank to fool the kidnappers. See?”

Taiga said pointing to the place where the bullet went, there were no scars there, trying to distract Aito from thinking about him being shot. Trying to cheer him up so that he won’t develop a future trauma.

Taiga was starting to panic.

Originally, Aito was not supposed to see that.

Taiga was supposed to distract the kidnappers while Alex escapes with Aito. Since Taiga was their original target, he was supposed to tank any and all attacks, but what they both didn’t expect was for Aito to pull such a stunt.

The public and any other records only knew of Taiga’s healing ability. But his ability was more versatile. He could store a certain amount of energy he gained from drinking blood in his body, he can use it to heal any of his wounds, and he could also strengthen his body to superhuman levels. Just like the public never knew Aito also didn’t know.

Taiga and Alex were both startled when the burly men fell and Aito stuck something in the eye of the blond man.

From the momentary shock, Alex couldn’t make his move and Taiga was also startled. So, he couldn’t react fast enough as the bullet pierced his head. It took him a movement to recover enough to stand up. At that moment, Aito saw his father lying motionless in front of him with a hole in his head.

Yeah, that was more than enough to give trauma to any four-year-old kid.

Taiga was consoling Aito while untying the tape from his hands, he saw the tape was loosened enough for Aito’s hands to move around. When he untied the tape, he saw Aito’s missing finger where the blood was hardened making it seem like the bleeding was not stopped leaving it like that. 

Taiga asked calmly while healing his wound, he also saw the bruise on his stomach,

“Did those bastards do this to you?”

Aito was startled, he could feel the coldness in his father’s tone.

He answered stutteringly. He couldn’t say he dislocated it himself after storing the tranquilizer in it. it would raise more questions so he decided to put the blame on the kidnapper’s head.

“T-t-that f-finger was *hic* hanging from the f-flesh *hic* when they woke me up”

He started crying to add more effect to it, but he didn’t realize that his father’s hands which were healing his hands were trembling.

Taiga didn’t say anything and healed his stomach where a bruise was, while simultaneously healing his stomach. Aito couldn’t do it himself because he consumed a considerable amount of stamina to stun the blonde guy.

So, he watched the procedure while wiping away his tears. He watched as his finger started regrowing at a visible rate.

His father was gently caressing his hair while healing his hand.

Just then Alex blinked beside them with an unconscious guy on his shoulder.

He said while throwing the guy into the ground,

“I’ve already contacted the others; Miss Okabe will be here soon.”

“Tie them up and take them with you, I want names.”- Taiga said with barely hidden anger.

“Yes”-Alex said without any delay

Without waiting for long more cars started coming towards that place. From one of the cars, Okabe started running toward Aito, and Kimi followed behind with clearly visible guilt on her face.

Taiga was holding Aito, who was healed perfectly.

Okabe came running, took Aito in her arms, and started crying. Kimi stood behind her without saying anything.

Without waiting for long, Okabe left with Aito in her arms, who had already fallen asleep.

Taiga went in a different way, but his eyes were still red.

Alex had no last name, he was a foreigner who was picked up by the Toda couple, Taiga’s parents, and was raised to become Taiga’s personal bodyguard. There were some others as well but, Alex was someone Taiga trusted the most. So naturally, he knew most of Taiga’s secrets.

He knew what was hiding in that great kind-hearted mask he wore.

He also knew Taiga valued his wife and son the most.

So, he planned to do everything he could to rescue Aito.

Since he knew Taiga the most, he accepted the absurd plan without questioning much.

But when the plan was undergoing, it all went haywire.

It all started with the two men standing in the back losing consciousness simultaneously, and then he saw the most absurd thing. His young master jumping up from the blonde man’s hand and sticking something in the man’s eye without any hesitation and precise movement. He was startled, and then he saw, Taiga getting shot in the head. He wasn’t that surprised because they knew something like this was going to happen and he knew Taiga will be fine.

Then he saw Aito looking at his father’s corpse with disbelieving eyes.

He knew they fucked up. A kid’s mind was fragile as glass, one didn’t have to use a lot of force to break it at, least it should’ve been.

But when he came back from taking down the sniper, he saw the kid wiping his tears and calmly looking at his hand healing. There was a missing finger in his hand and later he found a finger stuck in the blonde man’s hand.

Alex then understood that his young master stuck his own finger in the eye of that guy.

When he reported this to Taiga, he said the story Aito told him. Even he felt his anger rising but when he saw the look in Taiga’s eyes that said he was going to murder someone he felt his blood turning cold.

Now they were in a warehouse located on the outskirts of Aichi province. There were four men tied to metal chairs sitting there. Taiga was standing there with gloves in both hands.

Some men injected them with something and then they woke up one by one.

Taiga spoke in a calm voice.

“I don’t have much time on my hands so let’s make this quick.”

“…”

“I want to know who asked you to kidnap my son.”

“…”

“So, you’re not going to open your mouth. Figured as much...”

Then Taiga picked up a hammer and walked towards the man with the mustache.

“You know, you made the correct assumption that I love my family the most.”

He got closer to the man,

“I love my family the most, and I will even give up on my life if it meant my family could survive.”

Step

“And if someone touch my family,”

Taiga stood in front of the man and raised the hammer and slammed the hammer into the back of his hand. Which was held in place using duct tape.

“mhhhhhhhhhh”

The man screamed through his taped mouth

“I will do everything in my power to make their life as miserable as possible.”

The man’s mouth was covered with duct tape, so he couldn’t even scream properly.

Taiga started wrecking the man from head to toe, occasionally healing him to not let him die.

The others, even his subordinates were looking at this with trembling legs and pale faces.

In the middle of the torture, he removed the tape to hear the man speak. He said his employer’s name and everything he knew about this incident while screaming.

It turned out to be the vice-chairman of his hospital board.

Taiga’s mood instantly darkened.

He stood up straight and wiped the blood from his face. And walked out of the warehouse while instructing his subordinates.

“Torture the others, squeeze out everything they know.”

“…You know what to do after.”

That day muffled screams echoed throughout the warehouse and finally ceased after some gunshots.
