Momo was standing opposite Aito in the school gym where they could freely use their quirks. Momo had a serious expression on her face. That was not a joking matter, the Toda family was a family on par with the Yaoyorozu family, if not superior in some aspects. Gaining a favor from the only heir of the family is a pretty big deal. If used correctly it can affect the future of both families, negatively or positively.

No matter how much of a hero Momo wanted to be, she will one day have to inherit everything from her family, since she was the only heir. The same can be said true for Aito as well, he was the sole heir. So, naturally, his words carried a lot of weight.

When Momo first heard those words, she thought Aito was looking for another excuse to beat her up, but when she saw his unprecedently serious face, she couldn’t help but rethink who he was.

Although he would act like a delinquent/bully towards her, he was still the top student in the class and was someone respected by most in school. Seeing his playful face morphing into seriousness, Momo let out an audible gulp.

In the end, she accepted it. Even if she becomes a pro hero or not, she will have to inherit the family in the future, no matter how much he parents want her to follow her own dreams, she wouldn’t let her parent’s efforts go to waste. So, in the end, gaining favor from Aito Toda will help her out in massive, if not now, but in the future. If he was going to beat her up like last time, in her mind the already low evaluation of Aito would go down even further.

But it was suffocating to look at an Aito who, while having a serious face, picking up the staff and carefully balancing it while swinging it around.

But what was even more absurd was how Aito ate the cookies with a serious expression.

‘…’

‘I’ll just have to push back that bastard a little, If I do that, I will have a card up my sleeve for future purposes.’

She was undoubtedly sure she couldn’t win against him in a genuine one-on-one fight, even if she used her quirk to its fullest, at least for now. But if it was to push him back a little? she was more than confident.

Furthermore, he didn’t set any regulations on the use of her quirk, meaning, either he is stupid enough to leave a glaring loophole behind or he was confident enough to defend against any of her attacks. Was he arrogant? Maybe, if so all the more batter for her. She was going to use full use of this as revenge for all those times he annoyed her.

As Momo was thinking of different scenarios to effectively push him back, Aito asked with a serious expression.

“Who made these cookies?”

“…Yuki, she’s my maid.” -Momo had an urge to not say anything, but as she saw the seriousness on Aito’s face, she couldn’t help but answer.

“Hmm…”

Aito nodded with a serious expression, he was pondering deeply about something. Momo couldn’t help but think there was something more to the question than what meet the eyes.

After Nodding one more time Aito asked Momo,

“Shall we start then?”

Momo seriously nodded while taking a stance with her staff,

“Are there any other rules?”

Momo asked, but Aito replied coolly without thinking much, it’s not like she would bring out a missile or something, so it was fine.

“You just have to make me take a step back.”

“…”

Momo didn’t say anything and charged him.

Aito slowly closed his eyes and opened them again, this time his deep blue oceanic eyes had a deeper glint and a faint glow to them. Aito was using Ciel’s abilities to the fullest to react to any unexpected movements. Of course, he didn’t forget to strengthen his body, as it was nigh impossible to hold out without being pushed back when the opponent had the advantage of the momentum with a 13-year-old’s bodily strength alone.

Momo noticed the change in the atmosphere around Aito changing and charged forward. She built up her momentum while charging forward with some strange movements.

“Haap.”-Momo let out a shout as she swung her staff vertically at Aito with all the power of her body weight as well as the momentum, she built-up using the sprint. Her body weight was naturally more than what her frail body would suggest. Since she had to store more calories in her body to make use of her quirk, she naturally had more body weight, but with the help of her quirk being used as a medium, the fat that was supposed to add to her body got stored in her body as calories without making her fat.

And with the momentum, she built up using the sprint, which she utilized to the fullest extent because of not having to focus on defense, this can be called the full extent of the power she can execute using her body alone, which was more than enough to make a full-grown adult take a step back.

But to her surprise, Aito didn’t even budge. he blocked this attack with only one hand, holding the staff horizontally. Momo was not that much surprised, since she did know Aito had more strength than your average joe. But what she didn’t expect was for him to block her attacks with only one hand.

Although momentarily stunned she took a step back and begin using a flurry of techniques, feints, and high-speed staff throws to force Aito to take a step back.

While Momo continued her attacks, Aito was not having leisure time. He was having it a little hard to keep track of all her movements.

She was using the entire field to her advantage, using every angle possible to attack him to make him take a step back. Especially attacking from the back, although that would have been a blind spot for anyone without exception, Aito was simply brushing past it with extremely complex moves.

Although at first, she was charging from the front executing movement arts, techniques, and deception tactics, after a while of no fruit efforts she began attacking from behind.

‘I didn’t think she would use that loophole to shamelessly attack me from behind. Where is her pride as a future hero fuck.’

Aito wanted nothing more than to charge forward and teach this shameless ‘hero wannabe’ a lesson. But Aito had to Hold himself back to add more effect to what he was preparing.

He had to use weird postures to block the flurry of attacks from behind and the sides. If not for Ciel having a 360-angle vision and his absurdly high dexterity he would have long defeated according to the rules.

It’s not that Aito didn’t think of the possibility of her attacking him from behind but, he didn’t expect her to so shamelessly attack from the back. He cursed for believing in the noble and righteous personality of Momo.

[Heh, I think your shamelessness is rubbing off on her.]

Ciel said with a chuckle. She was enjoying her movement, of course, she knew Aito could end this all if he took the initiative to attack, if it was any other day, he would’ve just done that, but he was planning something, making him unable to do anything. And there was that pride thingy tugging on his consciousness not letting him go back on his words.

Aito didn’t say anything and focused on blocking and parrying the incoming assaults, she was throwing some spears now, yes spears. Now the dull staff had an edge making it more agile while using stabbing motions and throwing.

Momo threw a spear high up in the Air, in a trajectory, so that it would fall directly on his head, while throwing another one straight at him, which was faster, making him block it first. And to top it off she ran straight at him. From the back of course.

Aito let out a sigh in his mind, he let his guard down a little, and now, she was gaping that hole with a bulldozer?

[What did I say? She is leaching off of your shamelessness.]

‘…’ Aito didn’t say anything and grabbed the spear with his free hand while deflecting the spear coming from above with the other one, and using the spear he just grabbed to block Momo’s charge, even while he was having a weird posture his feet still stood rooted to the ground.

Momo had a disbelieving face, she was biting her lips, even while attacking Aito continuously.

Seeing that Aito inwardly smiled, she was getting tired, this was something he was waiting for.

[Why are you doing this anyway? It’s not like you couldn’t’ve twisted your words a little.]

‘I wanted to leave an honest impression of mine on her.’

[Why is that?]

Ciel asked curiously, just because she was connected to Aito’s mind didn’t mean she knew everything he was thinking. They both respected each other’s privacy after spending a lot of time together, of course, Aito could block Ciel from reading through his memories, as natural as breathing, since he was the master of the relationship. Furthermore reading each other’s thought processes would mean making their lives effectively boring.

Aito let out a smirk on the inside and said to Ciel.

‘Let me show you Ciel, How I will make a loyal ally. A potentially stronger one at that.’

[…] Ciel didn’t say anything more, effectively realizing, what he was about to do.

Momo stepped back, she was having a hard time believing what was happening. She had been using all types of things to make him take a step back. But she was failing. No matter what kind of attack she used, he would block or parry it without any change in expression. She had a feeling that his body was abnormally stronger, and was thinking it had something to do with his quirk.

If that was the case, his quirk has more uses than she initially thought, after realizing the fact that she couldn’t win against him even while having all the advantage, she bit her lips tightly, threw away her pride as a martial artist in the alleyway and charged at him from behind.

It was not at all a shameful act, it was but another tactic. But to Momo, who had all the advantage and still couldn’t make him take a step back, it was very shameful. But she endured it, she couldn’t let him make fun of her using the fact that she lost with all her advantages. Even though she was not that good with words, she was sure she could hold her ground against the fact that she attacked him from behind.

And even with all that, she still couldn’t make him take a step back. She half expected him to charge at her after annoying him for a long time. But surprisingly he was calm all throughout. Showing that he had a side to him that befitted the Toda family name.

As she was wondering whether to throw away her last bit of pride in the trash and make a last-ditch attack, she saw Aito smiling.

It was not his usual smile, which contained his playfulness and mischief. It was a gentle smile that could evoke a myriad of emotions in any woman’s heart. Once again reminding her that Aito was a handsome man, admired and idolized by the whole school.

As Momo was charmed by his appearance, which was something that never happened before, Aito opened his mouth.

“Is this all?” -he was smiling very gently that Momo would’ve stood there mesmerized by it, if not for his question.

*tick*

Momo's eyelids twitched; she felt the last of her hesitation washing away like a flower swept by the storm. Se charged forward while gritting her teeth with the resolve to make that bastard take a step back, no matter what.
