Man, this is rather a long chapter, sorry about that! - Holy
Chapter II - "And the way we Go!"
The Human commander looked at the Senator with a serious and stern look.
"May I have a word, Senator?"
"Of course, I was just going to call you to my quarters since I needed a word from you as well"
Both the commander and Senator walked into the quarters while closing the sliding door behind them. The Senator walks towards his desk and sat down on a chair, the commander soon followed and sat down on a chair on other side of the desk.
"Senator, my men are gravely injured and your meddocks are crowed, we need to have temporary hospitals to treat the wounded and some sick." The commander waited for a replied, but no words came out of the Senator's month. "Also, one other matter concerns about food, the food on this ship is primally eaten by your people, meaning all meals are only meat base instead of plant base. The Senator opens his mouth to speak, "Commander we weren't expecting to pick up an entire brigade of Voluntary Soldiers on the way of escaping the planet." The Commander looks down hoping to find something that can refute that with something else, the Senator continues speaking, "Besides, we also don't have an enough food to supply ourselves, sooner or later we will need to use the Paste Meal Generator so that we don't die." Usually, the Paste Meal Generator or the PMG makes food out of paste, it combines molecules to form food in a pasty way of course. The paste is healthy, Unianons and the Humans can eat the stuff, but it tastes awful. If an untrained gut eats the stuff, there's a 50/50 chance that they'll just vomit the paste and resulting in the person not eating it again which can create problems in the future.
"Hopefully that doesn't come to that, I rather not eat that stuff because we ran out of food, tell your men to ration your meals and make sure they don't haul all the meat base package away from my people as well, you know how furious they can be when they are starve."
"But Senator, we barely have any food only three crates of it AND because we a division size we need more food, that left over food would be eaten least than a week!" The commander said it with a frustrated face.
"I understand commander, but we need to ration the meals and if we don't want another Incident 11, you should give some meat base packages to my people."
"Alright fine, I tell my troops to ration and tell them that they might eat the paste if we run out."
The Senator speaks again,
"Alright commander now that your concerns are dealt with now, we must talk about something else."
The commander turns and face the Senator. The Senator continues.
"Commander, we are planning to leave this ship."
"Wait, why Senator?"
"Our phase containment field was damaged, but we repaired it on time but because of atmospheric pressure, half of our phase matter is unstable, and we needed to eject it, or the phase drive would have combusted which in turn would have transform the ship in a massive phase portal, that could leak out phase entities that can destroy the entire galaxy that we are in."
The commander sat in the chair to process the information given to him by the Senator."
"Alright can we just go to the nearest Unianon outpost?"
"Sadly no, we only have four to three weeks of phase matter we could use our phase weapons to give a tiny bit of fuel which in turn could give us an additional three days but I'm afraid that's it."
The commander strove out a sweat drop from his face.
"However, we found a habitable planet that is just barely out of our four weeks of phase matter, but we do have a transport barge that has a phase drive however we only can only have five hundred people on board since we need to have space for resources on the barge if we are going to have a base on that planet, Unianon Engineers and Technicians will be left behind to scrap the ship before the enemy locates it and reverse engineer our technology, the Union wouldn't be able to handle Unianon weaponry."
"But Senator, wouldn't that take off five hundred people from the list of candidates on the mission? Plus scraping this ship would take a month or more to fully scrap all of this ship."
"Yes, but we'll have fifty of each engineer and technician to accompany us to assist us on building a base of operations on the planet."
"Senator, if you mind me asking, but what exactly is the name of this planet?" The commander asked.
"Well, if reports given from the commadore its name should be Xeus IV in the Xeus system, as for details as to what is on the planet is and the type of star that the planet is orbiting is a Class II Yellow dwarf star, as for the planet it's a type V peace world, For short it's an ideal planet to set up a colony which I have no idea as to why the Cresor Union didn't colonize it since it's close to their once border."
"Okay but are there natives on the planet?"
"Maybe, since there's a bunch of green on the planet it should suggest that it supports basic carbon life forms so there's a 50/50 chance that the planet supports intelligent life, if it does, we could change the civilization in many ways, so I recommend keeping away from any civilization at all costs."
"If there isn't, we shouldn't need to worry of mining resources from the planet without a need to worry of any civilization."
"Alright, I get it that it's a perfect world, but after we are done with scraping the ship and of course the barge once we set up a base, how are we going to communicate to other Unianon or Union forces."
"That I don't know, we might have a long-range communicator on the barge, if we are lucky enough to locate transponders and communication channels."
"Alright good."
"But there's a hitch." The Senator said with an unsettling voice.
"The communicator is only radio base meaning we can only beam towards one location with no firewall protection to enemy deciphers plus there's a 50/50 chance of not being able to get a message back since most radio noises came back as just static almost all occasions."
"Well, is there a way to improve the communicator?" The commander asked with a small, worried expression.
"Yes and no, we don't have the resources to make our own communicator since it requires a special resource called a 'Holo-Crystal' and we don't have any on board."
"Alright we can mine this crystal on the planet, also can't we just take the long-range communicator off this ship instead?"
"We could but the communicator is damaged, a well place bomb hit the communicator, destroying the crystal completely."
"So that leaves one option then."
"Yes, we have to mine for the crystal for us to build an Intergalactic communicator."
"And if this crystal isn't on the planet did what do we do?" The commander asked with a bit of nervousness., "We can't just keep beaming radio signals to one place at a time and pray to god that the Enianons don't pick up the call instead." (Enianons isn't another species they are actually Unianions but divided themselves when the Imperialist General failed to convince the Senator on attacking a planet because of its very rich resources that had a very peaceful civilization on it.)
"You do have a point there, Enianons are honestly pretty good at deciphering radio beams."
"So, radioing won't and if we don't find one those crystal then what do we do?"
The Senator remembers something that is in storage on the ship, "Oh I think we can build ourselves a Holo-Crystal."
"And how do we supposed to do that?"
"We can mind crystal that have a slight similarity of that of the Holo-Crystal, we can match the wanted pieces into that crystal, of course we need to find that said crystals to actually build one, plus the Holo-Crystal must be large, probably as large as your arm. commander."
"What's the prospect of finding one 'similar' crystal that matches the Holo-Crystal." The Senator said before taking a small breath and spoke again, "Well, it's a slim a million to one chance of finding one small piece of a crystal that matches the Holo-Crystal and not to mention the size of the crystal must be large so that's going to be a lot of looking around to find multiple small pieces of crystals that match our important crystal AND that said crystal is large as I said a multiple times already."
"Those odds of finding one would probably take years of not decades, well guess I'll be retiring once we get out of the planet." The commander sigh with a bit of frustration.
"Well commander, we can inject your men with some nanites to make you a bit younger as well as to keep you alive long enough for three to two hundred years so you should be fine." As soon as the Senator said that the commander perks up a bit and sigh once again of relief.
"Well commander that ends our meeting." The Senator gets up and looks at the commander. "Tell your men to get ready to leave, I tell my as well."
The Commander gets up as well and salutes the Senator, his right hand moves above his eyes and brought his hand down, he soon leaves the Senator's private quarters and closing the door behind him."
'Well, it's going to be a head sore.' The Senator said in his head.
four hours later - after the two meetings
A couple of human soldiers walk down the red lighted corridors carrying crates of both water and food. One of the soldiers spoke.
"Man, I just wish we can get a small break; we've be hauling meds to the docs and handing out rations to people."
"Yeah, and you know what I heard we're planning to leave the ship so we can go to a distance world."
"Is that so?" The soldier said as they turn left in the corridor. "That's probably what's the meeting was for."
"What meeting?" The soldier asks while staring the other soldier while walking.

"My CO was told he need to attend a meeting with the commander, I'm guessing the officers are only told because it would speed up the process of hauling more goods on the barge."
"Hm, oh and there's one other rumor going around, and I just heard it while heading out rations to other people."
"And what's that?"
"Well one of the soldiers said that one of the Unianons phase thingy majig had a hole on the thing that the Unianons call the 'containment field,' the other said they repaired it, but it might too late."
"How's that?" The other soldier said.
"Well, their phase stuff goes unstable when air goes into it which doesn't make sense to me."
"Of course, that doesn't make sense to you, you're just a grunt and a total meathead." The soldier said while chucking a bit.
"At least I don't sleep naked in the barracks."
"Hey, what's the wrong in that?"
"Everything, who even sleeps like that when sleeping with three other guys?" The soldier snickers a bit as he said it.
"They don't have a problem with it!"
The two soldiers continue to argue as they haul down some supplies to the meddocks.
Four weeks had gone by - the ship has run out of phase matter
"Alright, that's the last of the juice." One of the Human crewmen said. The ship cannot move anymore since the engines run entirely on phase matter; however, the rest of the ship is powered by the quantum reactor and the ship can continue to be semi fully functional.
"Commadore, proceed loading Star Marines first then the Engineers and Technicians."
"Right away, Senator." The Commadore yells out orders towards other crewmen in the bridge and turns on the intercom of the ship.
"First Group load up!"
The Senator looks through the cameras on the barge dock and sees Star Marines enter the barge soon followed by people with similar armor of the Star Marines but instead of it being swamp green or lush green digital pattern armor these people had grey to crimson colors on their armor sets. The armor seems to be less tactical than the Star Marine armor.
Ten minutes later - Constable Lieutenant First Class Greggo Jeo's POV
I walked on the metal flooring on the barge, I see my brothers loading up on the sides strapping themselves on the seats. I soon followed and noticed one of these Star Marines looks different in a way I can't describe.
But without thought, the barge's airlock door closes, and the ship distracts itself from the ship. The ship slowly moves away from the ship and an automatic voice came out.
"Entering Phase Space in... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Entering."
The barge rankles a bit then a district sound could be heard, humming could be heard as the phase drive moves through phase space.
A couple hours later
The phase drive hums started to fade and completely stops, once again the automatic voice spoke out.
"Phase jump... Complete..."
The ship moves again but faster than before, before long the barge shakes up a bit then stops.
Barge Captain/pilot POV
We just entered the atmosphere of the planet, Coeor opens the scanning widow to see any life nearby.
Blue dots can be seen, indicates unintelligent life forms.
Green dots are Unianons
and those red dots are unfamiliar.
'Wait, are those intelligent life forms?' The captain said in his mind.
"Crap, we have natives in this world you know what that means?"
"Yep, we have to report that to the commadore or to the Senator."
The captain turns on autopilot and heads to the cargo bay.
"Alright lads, this world is inhabited with intelligent life forms, so you know what that means."
The captain went back towards the pilot's seat, he opens the terrain view mode to see what's a good place to build a base and atlas he had found a good spot and head towards there.
The area where he found the perfect spot is mostly meadow like, but forms of small trees can be found, the meadow around has trees around it and those trees are large enough to cover the barge but not in an aural view. The barge lands on a perfect flat point and opens the airlock door.
CLt. Jeo's POV
We are here atlas. He could feel the smooth wind touch his face as he exits the barge. For the first time in ten years, he finally touches land again, he smirks as he continues to view the open meadow area. A couple of his brothers sort of ruined it a bit while placing down building lines for constructs in the near future as soon as the second group arrives with the constructing team, Jeo's group is to build a field command structure while planting down potential building sites with lines and leveling the ground a bit.
His communicator begins to make noise and he could hear the captain's voice.
"Alright Lieutenant, you are on your own for a while, we'll come back with reinforcements so stay alive and be careful out here."
The barge lifts off and towards the sky. The commadore said it'll be a week for them to some back, so I hope we live till then.
Without a second thought Jeo began helping out the Engineers with the build site lines while the other Star Marines portal around.
??? POV
That strange creature that flew by us while we were hunting some deer, so we decided to follow it where it should land, it didn't move as fast as a dragon, but it did move fast enough for us to use our horses instead of our feet, I look towards Lila as I rode my horse towards that flying creature.
It only took us an hour to reach it, we hid on some bushes while observing the creature. Strange people that look likes knights, but their armor isn't royal like, their armor is green while some being grey and crimson like. I use my scope to observe the knights and noticed one of them isn't wearing a helmet.
The man was human, he had red hair and looks like a scar on his left side of his forehead. Wait a man?! Oh man it's been ages since I saw a man, I-I got to tell this to my tribe as soon as possible!
"Come on Lila, we got to report this!"
Lila and I got up slowly and walked towards our horse and once we got on, the horse ran as fast as their hoofs can go. Oh man this is going to be sweet once we tell them this!
Privateer Moebuck Velso POV
Hmm, wonder if I saw something...
"Hey Lieutenant, can we portal a little ruther away?"
"Uh, sure but don't be out there in the dark, we don't know what's out there and I rather prefer that you guys stay here rather than out there."
"Roger, we'll be out for only four to five hours."
A couple of Star Marines soon followed Moebuck into the forest to portal, they soon won't find out that they will be caught as to who was stalking them earlier.
