Lu Zhanke looked at the door, then at Ai Changhuan: “I’m leaving soon. Take good care of yourself, and remember to eat on time.”
“Well.” Ai Changhuan nodded her head. As the parting approached, she did not bother to get angry. “You…You too… ”
It was still unutterable.
Lu Zhanke reached out hand and rubbed her head again: “Idiot.”
Ai Changhuan stared at him.
But Lu Zhanke smiled, carrying the bag away chicly.
Ai Changhuan sat down at the table. Looking at the table full of food, she felt a little melancholy for a while.
However, she cheered up in no time, because one thought occurred to her that Lu Zhanke’s leaving meant no one would monitor her anymore, therefore, she could be aboveboard to contact Du Yucheng! She finally had a chance to ask about his relationship with Qin Zhan.
After lunch Ai Changhuan happily went out, but was stopped by Yang Anxin before she reached the door. “Changhuan, come here.”
“How’s going?” Ai Changhuan stopped.
“The Dragon Boat Festival is coming, right? We must hurry to prepare salted duck eggs and rice dumplings.” Saying so, Yang Anxin talked about last year again. How much she prepared last year, how much should be done in this year, and how long they might probably work.
Ai Changhuan was quite confused, and she hurriedly interrupted: “Wait a minute. My dear sister An Xin, you mean,’we’? You and I?” Salted duck eggs must be the thing that she ate only when she was young, then hardly had it. But YangAnxin should talk about doing it themselves. Did she hear something wrong?
“Of course.” YangAnxin looked at her quite surprised, then explained, “Last year, among the four guys, old Pei was the only one who got married, so I prepared everything for the Dragon Boat Festival for the rest three guys alone. But this year, now that you and LuZhanke got married, you should prepare those things by yourself. It will show that you are very capable, and make your parents-in-law like you more and your husband loves you more.”
Ai Changhuan’s face was stiff, and who wanted the love from Lu Zhanke? She eagerly wished that he would hate her as much as possible.
After a second thought, she evaded and said, “Come on. I can’t do it. ”
Yang Anxin held her hand, “Why are you afraid of that? No one is born with it. I can teach you step by step, and as long as you follow me, you will get it gradually. Trust me, it’s quite easy.”
Ai Changhuan failed to cry, “Well… actually I am a master in cooking dark cuisine.”
Yang Anxin did not understand, “What is dark cuisine for?”
“Any dish, as long as they come to my hand, will become unrecognizable, like the smashed cucumber is made into solid soy sauce, which is black and salty.” Hearing Ai Changhuan’s explanation, Yang Anxin smiled at once, and quite loudly, not saving Ai Changhuan’s face.
Ai Chuanghuan also felt ridiculous, and her smiling face was suffused with red.
“Take it easy. I am here. And I guarantee that you can succeed.” Yang Anxin pulled Ai Changhuan into the house immediately. Then Ai Changhuan was forced to join in the salted duck egg production team.
Yang Anxin had prepared duck eggs, totally 400. And they were divided into four boxes, neatlt arranged in the middle of the living room.
“We have four families, 100 for each one, and we can eat for about a month. Here, first, wash all of them.”
“Wash them All?” Ai Changhuan couldn’t help being a little dumbstruck.
“Of course, otherwise it’s easy to get bacteria if you don’t clean it. There are two big pots. First of all, we need to move them outside, then put the water inside, and wash the eggs one by one.” While saying so, Yang Anxin had taken the lead to move one big pot to the yard.
Ai Changhuan had to do so, then they worked together to move four boxes of duck eggs to the yard.
After this, Ai Changhuan had been particularly tired, holding the waist and desperately panting. She was secretly angry that she had done less exercise at usual times, which made her feel so embarrassed.
Yang Anxin noticed her embarrassment, then gave her a small bench to let her sit on and wash the duck eggs with a small brush.
“We are in a mountainous area, and it is difficult to get things from outside. So, we have to be self-reliant and nourish ourselves. Don’t look down on this little duck egg. It will last for months.” Yang Anxin worked hard while saying garrulously.
She was a typical housewife. Therefore, she did her work in a crisp way. Compared with her, Ai Changhuan felt that she was really too useless, and could not say the words of leaving any more. All that she could do was to work harder.
