Shao Tianqi was overcome with an impulse to roar up at the skies. Initially, when Mo Wen had barely made it here in time, Shao Tianqi might not have been able to kill both of them. Just now, when Mo Wen had demonstrated his abilities, Shao Tianqi took careful note of it. It was likely that Mo Wen was stronger than he was. He would be the one in danger if Gu Jingman and Mo Wen had joined hands, so he also would have been the one who must escape. It was honestly beyond Shao Tianqi’s wildest imagination that Gu Jingman’s decision to drag him down with her would have made his dreams come true. He could finally kill Mo Wen.
“Do you know why people call me the butcher? It’s because you’re the fish!” he thought.
“You got lucky, you scum,” Mo Wen chuckled coldly. He looked at Shao Tianqi as if the latter were an idiot.
“Hm, and what about it? I can kill both of you. This will be the greatest thing I’ve ever accomplished in my life”
Shao Tianqi chuckled thickly. He was in no rush because Mo Wen and Gu Jingman no longer had any strength to resist him. No one would have the strength, not after they had suffered such grievous injuries.
Gu Jingman remained in Mo Wen’s embrace. Her lips curled slightly into a bitter smile. “I didn’t think you’d come.”
“How could I not? You were in danger,” Mo Wen remarked lightly.
Gu Jingman was very quiet. She did not know the reason herself, but she was exceptionally at peace. Perhaps it had something to do with being able to die in Mo Wen’s embrace, but she was not at all resistant. Whether the outcome was good or bad was no longer of any importance to her. All that mattered was that he was there with her.
“What a pair you two fools make. Truly a match made in heaven. I’ll send you both to hell today, and you can stay married in the netherworld.”
Perhaps Shao Tianqi had really been like what Gu Jingman described. He was too old and he had been holding in all his grievances for too long, and that was why he could not stand the sight of another person being happy. The sight of such a heart-warming scene triggered a rage deep within him, and he swung down mercilessly with the huge sword in his hand.
It did not seem like he was out to kill a person with that force; it looked more like he was slashing a mountain in half.
The huge flaming sword shook the heaven and earth, activating the entire fire domain. Fires were raging and the entire space seemed as if it was on the brink of disintegrating.
Gu Jingman closed her eyes slowly, subconsciously clutching tightly onto Mo Wen’s wrist.
However, the destruction did not happen like they thought it would. The heaven and earth fell into silence and tranquillity in a split second. The fire domain quietened.
With one arm holding on to Gu Jingman, Mo Wen pointed with his free hand. The blade that was swinging down was suspended in the air, unable to move another inch.
Those with good eyes could see a huge, shapeless sword that held Shao Tianqi’s huge flaming sword back. That huge sword seemed illusory, and yet it was capable of shaking up the entire situation.
Shao Tianqi’s body was rooted firmly and rigidly to the ground. He looked at Mo Wen in disbelief, forgetting to recall the sword he had sent out.
“Primordial Soul power! How could you possess power as formidable as the Primordial Soul power? That is impossible!”
Shao Tianqi looked at Mo Wen in disbelief. Mo Wen had halted his sword with the Primordial Soul power which was, at the very least, at the level of the Supreme Profundity realm. It was not that the Primordial Soul power was divided into ranks, but the Primordial Soul power that Mo Wen harnessed now was on par with that of a regular Supreme Profundity cultivator. Mo Wen had far surpassed him, and he could not tell how many levels ahead his opponent was.
Mo Wen laughed coldly. Impossible? After he had left the Creation Pool, his Primordial Soul power had reached the level of a Supreme Profundity cultivator. Because a Spirit Tree had agglomerated with his declarative memory, his Primordial Soul had advanced rapidly and had taken a qualitative leap.
Although he had only absorbed a bit of the power released by the Spirit Tree, the strength of his Primordial Soul was honestly above that of the Supreme Profundity realm. Of course, that was the inherent strength of the Primordial Soul and not the released Primordial Soul power. The Primordial Soul power he released was only on par with that of an average monk at the Supreme Profundity realm preliminary stage.
However, it was more than enough to defeat someone like Shao Tianqi.
“D*mn it!” Shao Tianqi roared.
He did not think twice before he turned to flee. It seemed like Mo Wen was a Primordial Soul power at the Supreme Profundity realm and had managed to cultivate some Primordial Soul techniques on top of that. Shao Tianqi might be heavily injured now, but he was probably not Mo Wen’s match even if he was in peak condition.
Mo Wen was taking it too far, no? Was he still human? Most people had Primordial Soul powers beneath their cultivation, but Mo Wen was the opposite. On top of that, his Primordial Soul power was a whole realm higher than his cultivation. Was there anyone else in this world like Mo Wen?
How terrifying! Shao Tianqi felt a sense of horror wash over him. It was difficult to imagine the outcome of going against someone as horrifying as Mo Wen, someone who had such limitless potential.
Besides, there was no way he and Mo Wen could resolve their conflict. This was because they were mortal enemies, and there was no way that sort of hatred would ever abate.
He made up his mind. After he escaped from here, he would immediately return to the Petrification Cult and report everything he knew about Mo Wen to the higher-ups in the cult. Mo Wen was just too terrifying, and there was absolutely no way this person could be allowed to stay. Given enough time, he could become a disaster for the Petrification Cult. Shao Tianqi was certain that the higher-ups would be even more anxious than him to take Mo Wen out once they heard his report.
“Escaping?”
Mo Wen laughed coldly with a smirk. His Primordial Soul power was so limitless that it was almost terrifying, like a surging tide. Beams of Primordial Soul power transformed into sharp, formless blades. The entire space was filled with those blades, which were so plentiful that there seemed to be no gaps between any one of them.
Divine Sword of the Primordial Soul!
This was one of the Three Great Primordial Soul techniques from the Divine Soul Trillion Layers. Its power was immense, rumored to be able to wipe out the heaven and earth.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Deified Soul Power was exceptionally quick, so much so that Shao Tianqi had no way of escaping. Thousands of swords were flying about, much like rolling waves, and Shao Tianqi was struck a thousand times over in just a blink of an eye, his body completely destroyed.

The beams of light vanished, as did the formless Sword Qi. The golden sun in Mo Wen’s eyes dimmed as well.
Mo Wen had already been dealing with serious injuries. Now that he had unleashed the Divine Sword of the Primordial Soul, he had aggravated his own injuries. After all, the strength to command such an immense Primordial Soul power must come from his own body, and he was now very weak.
“We’re safe now.” Mo Wen stroked Gu Jingman’s head, blood dribbling down from the corner of his mouth.
“We’re safe?”
Gu Jingman opened her eyes slowly. She seemed rather weak, as though she barely had the strength to even open her eyes. She had heard Shao Tianqi’s shocking exclamation earlier on but she paid no mind to it. For a second, she felt as if nothing really mattered anymore.
“Let’s go back. No one will dare pick on us anymore.”
Mo Wen’s eyes were rather cold. It was only a matter of time before the sects from the Peng Lai Immortal realm got what they deserved.
…
After the people from Intentionless City and the Ming Palace returned, the city had become lively again. More and more people milled about as the days went by, and there was a large number of people returning to the city every day.
Initially, Wang Yinru had temporarily disbanded the Ming Palace, ordering the disciples of the Ming Palace to disperse to every corner of the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension. As for her, she had brought a few of the higher-ups from the Ming Palace into hiding at the Tan Zi Beast Lair, and it attracted the sects of the Peng Lai Immortal realm.
Now that Wang Yinru and the rest had returned, the disciples from the Ming Palace had also returned to the Intentionless City. The city that had been left empty was once again lively.
Of course, everyone knew that the danger had not yet passed. The Petrification Cult was only one batch of all the people who had infiltrated the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension. The only reason why the bulk of them did not want to take on the risk stepping forward was that most of them had cultivation below the Primordial Soul realm.
This was especially so after they had found out that the Petrification Cult had not just failed in ambushing the Ming Palace, but also had been completely annihilated. People became more honest. Those who were hiding hid whatever needed to be hidden.
The Petrification Cult had sent out their elders at the Tide Changing realm but they proved to be useless, so what could the lesser cultivators like them do?
However, everyone knew that the peace in the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension was just the calm before the storm. A storm was brewing, and there was no way the big sects of the Peng Lai Immortal Realm would just take things lying down.
One day, Intentionless Sect Leader Chen Wuhui and Chen Zi returned to the Ming Palace. The two of them had not escaped to the Star Emperor Palace as Wang Yinru had. Instead, they had been rallying the Ming Palace disciples, making sure they were ready at any given moment.
“Has Sect Leader Mo returned?”
Chen Wuhui’s first words to Wang Yinru were to ask after Mo Wen. There was not a single person who did not know that the return of the Ming Palace’s Sect Leader had saved them from a disaster.
Chen Zi blinked, staring firmly at Wang Yinru. Had Mo Wen finally returned? To the Ming Palace, that person was their backbone.
“The sect leader is currently in seclusion.”
Worry flashed in Wang Yinru’s eyes, but it was quickly masked. She did not mention Mo Wen’s injuries, because the Ming Palace would surely descend into chaos if word of it spread.
As of now, only the most reliable subordinates in the Ming Palace knew that Mo Wen and Gu Jingman had sustained grievous injuries. Although they had managed to take down Shao Tianqi, the two of them paid a hefty price.
“The sect leader is in seclusion.”
Chen Wuhui was stunned when he heard this. Why was the sect leader in seclusion when he had just returned? Besides, this did not seem like a good time to go into seclusion. A storm was brewing outside, and danger was lurking at every turn. Everyone was waiting for a huge war to break out, so what was the sect leader’s deal? Why was he secluding himself in spite of such circumstances?
“You two must take the information as it is, and not spread it,” Wang Yinru remarked mildly.
Chen Wuhui furrowed his eyebrows. Just by Wang Yinru’s words, he could sense that something was not quite right, but he was not sure what exactly was wrong.
Of course, he was not foolish enough to ask, so he could only suppress the doubt that was festering.
Chen Zi seemed rather disappointed. She had expected to be able to see Mo Wen. However, this dire situation had happened.
“You two should go back and make preparations. A huge war might break out in the near future,” Wang Yinru remarked with a somber look on her face.
…
Outside, the entire city was enveloped in wind and rain. Meanwhile, Mo Wen was silent as he sat cross-legged in the secret chamber. His injuries had been grievous, but he did not mind. He was a Miracle Physician himself, and he had on him plenty of sacred items that could be used to heal wounds, such as the Spiritual Transforming Stone, the flesh and blood of creation spiritual beasts, and some exotic herbs he had found from the Creation Pool. These were treasures rarely found in the world.
Not long after, his wounds had healed completely. With his help, Gu Jingman had, as expected, recovered quickly as well.
Of course, no matter how effective the sacred items were for healing, there was no way they could heal their injuries immediately. After all, the extent of their injuries were indeed very great, and half a month had passed in this seclusion.
At that time, a lot of people had returned to Intentionless City. There were also a lot of people who had come to the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension, some of which included the people of the Gao Clan and some sects of the Ming Preservation Faction. All of them hurriedly made their way over.
Their arrival was not without rhyme or reason, unsurprisingly. This was because the people of the Ming Temple had set out from the Floating Mystery Dimension and rushed over to the Green Ancient Mystery Dimension.
Everyone was making their preparations. This was the war of the century. The animosity between the Anti-Ming Faction and the Ming Preservation Faction would finally be settled in this little Mystery Dimension.
