2 months later, at the near end of spring season, closing into the start of summer.

On a brightly lit night, the full moon rising high above the starry sky. On the side of the Dark-well town, lies a small pit. Originally this pit was meant to be a well, meant to be gathering water. However due to Kaivan’s intervention, the town decided to deepen the well they have rather then digging for new ones.

Instead, the once dug hole has now been changed into a pit. Changed and renovated on his whim, turning it into one of it’s well liked entertainment spot.

“The pit” as he calls it, is a large hole. Roughly 15 meters in diameter, and about 10 meters deep. With a reinforce wood dome held up by 3 intersecting arches, at the center lies the pit.

And at the center of the pit, Where two fighters are currently dishing it out at each other.

One, a hulking bear of a man. the other, The chieftain’s son, Kaivan himself.

“YOUR RIGHT, on your right.” Shouted a man on above. The shouts, screams and the banging of furniture barely reaching Kaivan’s ears as he turned his head.

*bang*

A left hook struck him in the face knocking him to his side. Falling on the floor as he felt his breath left him.

‘Oh shit,’ Thought Kaivan as he hit the floor, the muffled yelling of the crowd surrounding him.

“GET UP.”

Shouted the man in front of him, his opponent. Kvata stared down at him with intense eyes, A smile wide from ear to ear as he waited.
Struggling with the pain, Kaivan got up. His bloodshot eyes stared back, his hands the same shade of iron black as Kvata’s very own.

Kvata shouted, striking with his right, a wide hook aiming directly at Kaivan’s head. As fast as bolt of lightning, nearly hitting him as Kaivan leans back. Loosing his footing, staggering slightly.

A left upperhook, aiming at his sternum. Kvata charged at his prey, like a charging bear. But this time, Kaivan was ready. Leaning just in time on the right, away from approaching disaster . Away from those giant fist, a small smirk on his face.

Gotcha.

A left elbow, as Kaivan struck at Kvata’s left. Right below the ribcage, though he does not have Kvata’s strength, His speed and precision is more then enough to make up for it.

Cheers rang out at the strike, as Kvata staggered. Just low enough to dodge Kaivan’s right hook from the side, looking back at Kaivan, the eyes of both fighter bloodshot and furious. Clenching his left fist, swinging a left elbow at Kaivan with his full might, determined to end this fight right now and here.

Kaivan felt an ominous premonition, immediately put both of his arms into a crossed-armed guard. Kaivan can feel himself being launch into the air, and out of the pit.

like a bird flying for the first time, crashing into the crowd. Thankfully only the rough and burly people would be this close to the fighting pit. Another loud cheer range out, as shield and mugs and furniture clashing against each other.

“COME ON, GET BACK DOWN THERE.”

Shouted a man, followed by another. With wry smile on his face, Kaivan reach out to one the audience taking the mug of ale from him, Much to his annoyance.

Taking a swig, then throwing it at Kvata as he jump straight down into the pit, to the cheering and laughter of the crowd.

“Dear, are you here?"

Asked Edda as she comes to Flint’s chamber within the main hall. Having been throughly cleaned with lye and cleansed of aura contamination, now seem more breathable. Losing that sense of oppressive aggression from two months ago, that repelled her from visiting him.

“I’m here my heart,”

Answered Flint as he sat on his chair, rubbing his brow somewhat tiredly.

“Aww, you’ve worked hard.” Pinching his nose teasingly, turning her gaze at the ledger book on the table, the one that flint is currently working on.

“What seems to be troubling you so?”

“It’s the traders, Things are heading to a bad direction, the demonized beasts are becoming more common, more vicious. Almost as if they running from something.”

“Should it be time we start moving south?”

Inquired Edda, snuggling herself into flint’s arms, Scratching on the stubble on his chin.

“From what I heard, the other tribes are also showing signs of unrest. The river-dogs, for example. Those guys are really moving fast down south, there's even talk about some joining with the Sai empire.”

A frown on his face, taping on the table rhythmically.

“Tsk, cowards…where’s Kai? Shouldn’t he be with you right now?” asked flint, his right patting Edda’s head while the other holding on to the ledger.

“He’s in the pit again, you know how that boy hate being in second place.”

“Heh, he thinks he’s gonna win against Kvata? that damn bear ?”

a knocking on the door, “Chieftain?” asked a voice from out the room.

“Yeah? I'm here.”

“The red-scales arrived. They’re waiting at the main entrance.”

Turning his gaze to meet with Edda, urging her to get off, only to be responded with a sly smirk.

“Alright tell them he will be there shortly.” announced Edda to the man on the other side.

“Very well…lady Edda.” Spoked the man, his voice slow and respectful.

“I will see them to their quarters, and waiting for the chieftain to arrive….in the morning, my lady.”
