Chapter 4: City Of Emera

They walk for several more hours until Konzo and the girl find themselves close to the city of Emera. Emera is a large city with a population in the tens of thousands. It's the political, economic, and cultural center of the southern region of the continent. The city has expanded so far that it now touches the edge of the forest. The edge of the forest, not far from the city, is a place known as the Plains of Despair. This is a barren wasteland of dust and death, a place where the inhabitants are twisted in appearance and nature has taken everything from them. Those who try to live in this wasteland are immediately killed by hostile creatures. No one who's lived there has ever returned to the city of Emera. Konzo and the girl arrive at the edge of the forest. The plains are visible from here. They can see the remnants of cities that have been razed and can see the lifeless dust of the desert.
