Chapter 10: His Comfort!

"To answer the latter part of your query, then I think I have to tell you something about myself first."

Spoken in a dimly lighted room sat the person and me, whom I had been terrified of the most for some days.

The person who was once my farm of points suddenly took an interest in me and started noticing those things which I wanted from my ex-fiancee.

To be honest, how much I tried to deny her advances and thought that her presence would hinder me in the future, her being with me like this genuinely makes me feel happy.

I have no such person in this life who, after getting tormented and even betrayed once, would come back to me like a stubborn kid who's reluctant to let go of their parent.

Well, even though I behave like a kid more than usual in front of her, it doesn't change the fact she returned for me. 

For her, I was no one. Without me, she wouldn't have lost a single cent, nor being with me would have given her a whole life's fortune, yet she decided to stay by my side for whatever reasons.

I still was unsure why she was so persistent and understanding with all the stories I had told her about my life until now, but there was one thing I was getting a little scared about.

I was reborn here, lived as a noble, and acted like an arrogant asshole, yet my heart still belonged to a young adult.

Even though I had never been in a romantic relationship with someone before, I was very well conscious of those feelings. Being cared for like an apple of the eye, having such a beautiful girl's attention like this made me furiously terrified of something.

I may be reacting more than I should have, but these were my honest feelings that kept hitting the back of my head since Luna came into this room.

Suddenly, Luna inhaled deeply as some nervousness visibly surrounded her aura. I was a little tense, too, as the main plot I read in my previous life didn't justify any of the heroine's backstory.

I just knew that Luna comes from a royal family of far western lands and has been living low-key to achieve her goal without using her family's background.

"Austin...please don't hate me when I say it but...I...I am not a human ."

As she said, she opened her oceanic eyes, which were now radiating with a strange glint adorning her precious eyes. Her eyes were looking majestic at the moment. 

I was so immersed in her eyes that I never noticed where she asked me to check.

"Mou~Stop staring already~ I'm serious here."

Her pout brought me back on track as I hurriedly put away my gaze with a faint 'Sorry' along the way. 

I never intended to stare at her, but her eyes were so mesmerizing that I think they could fail a succubus in charm.

'Hmm' 

My averted eyes finally glimpse the place she was trying to show me earlier. 

Her hands, which in the normal situation should be silky white in the shade, were now white, but it was far from humanly.

She was practically illuminating. Her arms up to her elbows were glowing with serene porcelain white light like it was covered with some kind of oceanic fluid. 

"Th-This.."

I was so flabbergasted that I never saw Luna's expression and asked while still trying to figure out what I was facing at the moment.

"As you can see, my humanity has been taken from me in exchange for a blessing I was granted with at my toddler's age. The reason I can use different spells and can handle mana so easily is this."

I heard her and found myself amazed thoroughly. From what I saw in the manga, Luna never showed any sign of being a god Apostle or sort of whatever situation arose.

Even in the face of the heaviest punishment or most incredible pain, she always remained the same like Holy Magic was the only thing she was taught.

But suddenly, that same Luna was showing something like a change in her whole trait and diverting her from the original self.

It sure would thrill me enough to stare at her hand like an idiot.

But I guess I was insulting her like that since she snatched her hands away not so long after.

"Sorry for showing you something like that. I know it looks disgusting."

Her dry laugh at the end and the way her beautiful eyes lost their shine made my brows frown and my heart clench in slight pain.

I hurriedly held her hand, which she was trying to retract, which made her subconsciously widen her eyes toward me.

"Aus-.."

"Don't make something up with your own assumption. Neither I am disgusted nor do you have to say sorry for anything. Rather than disgust, the only emotion I have right now is amazement and attraction toward these beautiful hands of yours. I might be sounding cringy, but these are my honest thoughts. Please don't reject my emotions like this."

I held her hand rigidly in my grip as I muttered all my mind out to let her know how I felt about these discoveries about her. 

To tell the truth, I felt gratified to know something which Luna hadn't told many people, or maybe I was the only one.

"A-are you s-serious...Austin...you aren't making fun of me, right...?"

Hearing her staggering voice, I couldn't help but sigh in my heart. It was the first time I had seen Luna in a such terrified state.

I didn't know she held me this close, that my opinion would make her scared. 

Holding her hand gently with my left one, I lifted my other arm and brought it over Luna's head before I started caressing her softly.

"Don't even think that I am making fun of you. I am indeed a little surprised right now as it's the first time I have seen something like this, but it's just that. As I said, these hands of yours and the eyes you showed me some moments ago only shouted one thing in mind; you know what is it?"

Her eyes blinked in innocence, and her small pouty lips shrank like a cute baby. Upon hearing my remark, she meekly shook her head while staring at me in astonishment.

Bringing my hand toward her fluffy cheeks, a smile formed on my lips before the word came out of my mouth, which I always think whenever I look at Luna. 

"Beautiful."

Her dormant eyes shone more brightly than ever before as she stretched them at their widest point. Her mouth became slightly ajar, as it seemed she was trying to say something but failing miserably.

Involuntarily a chuckle left my lips which made her come back to life again as she again pouted with her cheeks puffed to the fullest before grabbing my hand roughly.

"Stop playing with me!!"

"Ah."

Suddenly Luna jumped over me, making us fall on the bed in intimate proximity. The distance between our bodies became non-existent with her head draped over my chest, and almost all of her body pressed over me.

The softness and heat I felt all over me was something I might never be able to define with mere words. But in contrast to what I was feeling right now, it would be heavens beyond belief.

Her intoxicating fragrance, which was so peculiar that I could now identify her presence without looking at her, was overwhelming in the air right at the moment.

I have hugged women in the past, but the heat of Luna's body supplying me wasn't even comparable to the warmth I had felt from someone else.

It wasn't uncomfortable. Far from it. More like I had never felt comfort this much before, to the point where my natural embarrassment, which should have flared up being in this position, never showed any sign of rising.

Strangely, this feeling was so solacing that I thought all my worries disappeared instantly

"It's comfortable hugging me, right?"

With her eyes narrowed in mischief, Luna asked me with her chin supported by my upper body.

As she said, I indeed was hugging her waist like I didn't want to let go of her at all. I immediately retracted my hand before I apologized.

"Sorry, but it's too comfortable for me to resist-"

Suddenly Luna grabbed the arm which was previously on her back before she muttered something to exhaust all my reasonings.

"Who told you to resist? Enjoy the moment, and don't let such formal thoughts hinder your desires."

Her words felt genuine, or maybe my mind was clouded enough to let me believe they were her honest thoughts of hers as I brought my hand back on her waist and snuggled even more closely than before.

I have been near a person of the opposite gender before,  but being in such an intimate situation with such otherworldly beauty was my first time through and through.

It was an unreal feeling.

The room soon fell silent as the sound of two hearts beating resonated in my senses vividly, with faint, heavy breaths coming just some inches below.

This serene silence with such a blissful cuddle made my mind blank for some moment until Luna brought me out of my stupor.

"Hey, Austin..."

"Hmm."

I hummed with my eyes still closed as I heard her slightly unusual, tensed tone.

"Don't let others hurt you anymore."

My eyes slightly parted as I tried to see her expression, but due to our current posture, I could only see her silver hair as her face was drowned on my chest.

"Please don't let others wound you anymore. I know I am in no position to say it, but seeing you like that, hurts me. I understand why you are doing such, but please don't let anyone give you such misery again. Won't you listen to me for this once, please?"

Her almost weeping sound caught me off guard as, for a moment, the thought of abandoning all my Villain system arose inside.

But soon, I slapped down such thoughts, and for some time, I only calmed my raging heart, which, after hearing such a fragile voice, was beating like an uncontrollable beast.

It wasn't the thing she said that tempted me. Instead, it was just her tone that, for even a blink, made me lose all my sanity.

I soon calmed down a little before I held her shoulders gently, and while straightening my back, I made her sit down just some inches apart from me.

Looking at her sad eyes, I couldn't help but sigh in worry and admiration at how beautiful she could look with any side of hers.

"You know I can't stop being a Villain until I don't fulfill the wish I desire the most right? Even if you ask me, Luna, it's beyond impossible for me to leave the role and start a new life now."

I told her what was true. Even after a month when my wish for curing my sister would be fulfilled, I was sure that returning to everyday life would not be possible because of the shitty behavior I had showcased until now.

Honestly, I was thinking of returning to my family mansion and help father in his work, but now that option has also resigned from the front. So being an adventurer was my only option.

But the following words Luna said pulled my full attention, which was getting diverting because of my future plans.

"Then do what a villain actually does."

I blinked twice in confusion as I stared at her aimlessly, trying to figure out what she had just said.

"Hmm?"

"Austin, do you think that being a villain only means getting trampled upon or getting cursed? Do you think if you get crushed by others, then only you would be called a true villain?"

Even though her words were a little cruel and disheartening, I nodded in bafflement. 

What she said was all true, and that's what I have been following since day one after getting my Villain System a year or so ago.

But looking at Luna's exaggerated sigh, I thought there was something she wanted to tell me. Something that would change the path I have been walking and the life I have been leading. Something...

"Listen, Austin. From now on, what I am going to tell you would change how you have been treated until now, and not only that, your new self would make the whole Eden Academy know what an actual Villain is capable of. I promise to make you a being whom no one would dare to trample from this day forward."

...which might change my destiny.
