Chapter 6: His fear!

'It eventually happened huh....?'

Standing in the middle of the jungle where some portion of the land was cleared stood me and my arch rival or I have made him, Hero Kyouki.

My plan was ruined in the first hour of exploration as suddenly I and Luna were ambushed and taken by surprise.

It wasn't hard to discern that the team who came to hold us was none other than humanity's greatest hope, the hero's party along with the embodiment of light, Kyouki himself.

I first panicked but as soon I realized what their motive was I became natural and even started cooperating by keeping myself away from their trap and leading my path completely different from Luna.

Last I saw, the dazed Luna was surrounded by the hero party which made me sad as how I left her behind. But knowing that Luna was their teammate until some days ago, I was sure that they won't hurt her.

Now that leaves me and his face to face.

I wasn't sure what he wanted from me, but when he started shouting something like 'curse' 'demons' I concluded that he has taken a ton load of bullshit as reality 

But I wasn't complaining tho...

After all, this kind of confrontation was something I was planning all along, and even through a different route, we ended up the same as I wished.

"Your evil deeds would come to an end today, you monster! How dare you bear your fangs on my pure Luna!"

Shouting at the top of his lungs I saw the hero being in a rageous temperament which I never had seen until now even though I had done so many things to him 

This shows what kind of emotions he carries for Luna.

In all honesty, it made me cringe a little...

"Hoh~ So you finally figured it out huh. Not bad~Not bad. And don't assume that I am just manipulating her, I am also using her at my disposal. Doing all kinds of the things which you heroes categorize as disgusting. Ah~ the way she tastes sends a shiver down my spine~" 

I acted vulgarly as I felt an enormous amount of mana concentrating in a single place. It wasn't a doubt who was gathering such mana at this moment so I just prepared myself.

Bending my head up I saw the dark expression of the hero which told me that I was successful in ticking out the trigger.

Honestly, that side of his was a little frightening but coming this far I knew there wasn't any going back.

Hero clutched the hilt of his heavy sword before lifting it in midair and positioning the tip of the blade in my direction.

"You have asked for it, do not resent me in your afterlife!"

Suddenly his whole body started shining with radiant yellow light which was descending directly from the sky and getting absorbed in the hero.

My eyes widened in shock as after some seconds I finally concluded what kind of attack he was planning to direct toward me.

'I have to get away ...'

This was the only thought that came up as I saw the light covering Kyouki's blade to the point where it started to seem like a light saber.

'What the heck!!!'

My body which I tried to move wasn't listening to me at all. I was bound with golden chains which I was familiar with. Not only chains were restricting my movements but also sucking my mana at a furious pace. 

Due to a lack of alertness, I never thought of this possibility and was getting cocky on my own until now.

"Don't think I will let you flee you maggot."

The smiling face of Kyouki blended with the amount of mana he was collecting at a single place giving the scent of something peculiar ...

...Yes it was of death.

"[Christine of Light]"

"Shit!!!"

A beam of light descended upon the surface as at a furious pace it made its way toward me, destroying every single thing in its path.

The light was so blinding that I wasn't able to see anything at all, before a burning sensation showered over me. I knew I would completely extinguish from existence if I didn't do something...

So I did what I never thought to.

"Lift all my limiters right now!!!"

...

...

[..ert!!]

'Mm...did I recover this soon?' Ah, why is this system shouting..?'

[Alert!]

'Huh...this is something new...'

Forcing my leads I open my eyes somehow after recovering a bit from the after effect of the flashing blow.

It was great that I lifted my limiter at the last moment or I would surely have perished. But what was making me surprised right now was the continuous alert notification flashing inside my mind.

Stabilizing my consciousness I focused on the notification which became more clear in front of my retina before my narrowed eyes went wide.

[Alert! The hero is in fatal danger!]

[Warning! Once the mortal thread of the hero gets severed, the Villain system would collapse entirely!]

This warning was self-explanatory and I wasn't able to conclude how such a thing happened. Fortunately, my body works faster than my mind, as while thinking tens of things, I was already standing on my feet.

My body was burning and aching in pain with my skin at its highest sensitivity.

Ignoring the sweat-building ache all over my body, I focused on my surroundings and got even more bewildered.

'How such a thing happened.'

[Some minutes ago]

[Luna's POV]

I was getting surrounded slowly yet visibly by my old comrades once who shared the battlefield with me.

Honestly, I didn't have much sentiment attached to them but looking at how sloppy their formation was, I could not help but sigh in helplessness.

I pretended to not see but I was fully aware of how Austin was distancing himself from me, which made my heart ache but it was something I had assumed all along.

I let myself get bind up in their formation seal which could only be formed when there's an Expert Class Mage.

Lilia was the conjurer of the bind and others were just helping her maintain the spell by providing mana.

Technically I wasn't resisting at all, but looking at their struggle it seemed my mana was acting subconsciously which I also couldn't help.

"Please don't resist Luna-san. It's for your own good that you are away from that monster. Please stay like this and we will save you."

It was Lilia who made me annoyed with her words. I knew what bullshit they have formed by themselves regarding my favourability toward Austin in recent days.

But what made me more pissed was when that woman who only less than a week ago was the fiancé of the person she was regarding monster now. 

Truthfully I wanted to obliterate each one of them from existence right at this moment but I held my anger for Austin. I knew acting violently would bring no good so I just stood there motionlessly while gazing in the direction where Austin left.

I knew telling these four morons anything right now would be counted as a complete waste, so I just chose to let them be the boss of the moment.

'Hmm...it took longer than I thought...'

Not so long after a huge beam of light descended upon the earth which was in my full expectancy but knowing who would be under its center made my heart go numb.

My mind went blank for a long second as I heard the things around me chattering again.

"Ah, how beautiful. Kyouki-san finally brought blessing upon us "(Venessa)

"Now Luna-san would be free from that monster's clutches. I don't know why but I feel a little weight lifting my heart".(Lilia)

"I hope Kyouki-kun didn't hurt himself ~"(Sicily)

I was hearing them...

Enduring them...

But not for long as I knew what was about to come so I lightly shrugged my shoulder which dismantled the bind from me, surprising the four.

"L-Luna-san....why are you still....don't tell..."

Without paying attention to the thing that was the shame on the name of a woman, I started walking steadily in the direction where my lovely Austin was.

The ground started shaking violently when I noticed the [Curse Veil] drawing over the sky and covering almost the northern side of the jungle.

I didn't halt there and used mana to stabilize my steps before I reached the spot where I was able to see the whole battle zone.

Beads of tears started forming in my eyes as I saw Austin's condition. He was burnt from head to toe. His fluffy and beautiful hair was black as charcoal was sticking to his head signifying how painful it was for him. His pretty eyes, his small nose, his beautiful smile everything was gone.

His body was trembling from tremendous suffering which I was also able to feel a little inside myself yet I could not comprehend how tough it was for him. 

I wanted to touch him right now, but I couldn't.

I wanted to hold him...

To embrace...

To let him feel my presence...

Yet I couldn't do anything just because of the existence of a single damn person.

I was so agitated at the moment that I felt it almost impossible from stopping myself from killing that piece of human trash who regards himself as a hero.

Looking at his panting state I felt disgusted and anger welling in my chest as I resisted at the best of my ability to not let that accomplishing smile of his tear off his face.

I knew killing him would push Austin away from me forever, so I just did what I could.

Using my best healing spell I helped Austin to get into a condition where he could move freely before I focused my eyes in the direction where a humungous figure just appeared.

It certainly was something that could be categorized as gigantic as its shadow made it look like the day has fallen. 

My eyes despite facing a Terror Class being were still normal as it wasn't something I haven't come across, so I just studied its outer appearance.

Core made of an unknown substance stood a gigantic monster at a height of more than 70 ft. Its arms and legs were like that of a human except for the fact its whole body was made of a sandstone-like substance. Two ruby eyes stared down at us or more precisely at the hero as the monster finally growled its arrival.

"GUOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!"

A/N:- Sorry for the short chapter. There will be an explanation for why Luna let him get hurt.

And also Luna will help Austin grow as a man and as a villain.

Her role is vital that's why I said this story is not centered on the only male lead.
