Cass's gaze wandered as she walked down the city streets. She spotted a couple in love, enjoying their happiness as the pair looked at each other with sweet eyes; an adventurer who was drunk after a long day's work, walking down the street with a gait that made people create an empty space around him for fear of him tumbling into them; a set of three young children, siblings looking for their mother or father. She paused at that, taking a look around herself for any sign of the parents.

It took her only a couple seconds to spot a mother trying to find her children in the midst of the crowd, and immediately she strode over to the woman. "Your kids... this way," she said, grabbing the woman's wrist and just pulling her for the ten or so seconds it took to find her children. She almost gripped too hard, but the woman's shift in posture when she grabbed her was enough to remind her that adventurers had superhuman strength. "Here," she said.

"O-oh!" The woman said, her eyes widening in surprise as her children practically mobbed her. "Thank you," she said, sincere relief seemingly pouring off of her.

Cass just smiled, giving a wave to the woman, before getting to her destination - the Hostess of Fertility. She opened the door, but it was immediately obvious that Erza wasn't inside by the way that Syr's expression lit up as she saw her. She tried to step back outside, to wait for Erza, but Syr rushed forward with such desperation that she knew there was little point. She would just mob her outside instead if she left now. "Hello... Syr," Cass said.

"Let's get you a table," Syr said, smiling brightly and taking Cass's hand. She gave Cass a wink. "Don't worry, I'll put it all on Erza's tab, so order as much as you like." There was something off about the way she said that, but Cass couldn't quite put her finger on what. There was always something off with how Syr said things. The nameless girl thought it was because she was Freya, a goddess. Sometimes Cass thought that might be the case, and other times it was different...

"Thank... you," Cass said, out of politeness more than anything else, as she was guided to a table in the corner - and then Syr plopped down across from her.

"Normally you're here with Erza, but now you're alone - I thought you'd like the company!" That wasn't true, but it was a polite untruth - she knew that Cass never felt comfortable around her, and she hoped to change that. "What's it like, being married?"

She smiled at that question, not because it was Syr asking it, but just because it dragged forth all sorts of pleasant memories. There was a flicker of annoyed jealousy that crossed Syr's expression before she stifled it. "It's... nice."

"Even though your husband has three other wives?" Syr prompted. "Don't you get jealous?"

"...no," Cass said. That was the truth. She'd never felt jealous of Erza or Julia or Noriko. They were friends, and she liked seeing her friends happy.

"Oh... I'm not like that at all... I couldn't bear the person I loved having eyes for someone else..." Her body language was sharpening, an edge to it as she tried to pretend to just be casually discussing things with Cass. "What made you fall for him?" She wanted to know, not because she was interested in their romance, but because...

Cass mentally stuttered. She swallowed. Syr was... in love with her? She hid it well, but... she felt her cheeks glow, making Syr brighten, clearly interested in what had made her react that way.

"Oo, is it an embarrassing story?"

"It was... love at first sight," Cass said. That was true enough. When she had shown up in this world, Drake had just seemed... handsome, and nice, and he had been handsome, and nice, ever since.

"How romantic," Syr said, though there was a sourness to her words that leaked through. "And him?"

She blushed brighter at that. "He, um... loved me before he met me..." Syr quirked an eyebrow at that. "I shouldn't say more." If she was a goddess, she would be able to tell if she was lying or not.

"That just makes me more curious," Syr said.

Cass quietly shrugged. She wasn't going to answer in any more detail. Where was Erza? Normally she came to the Hostess of Fertility by this time...

The titanic beast in the shape of a man towered over Erza at a full seven meters, its skin a cool gray.

"The Goliath is supposed to remain on the 17th Floor," Ryu said. "We should retreat."

A Goliath was a level four 'Monster Rex' - thus far, nothing she had fought was even close to a match for her, even all the way down here on the 15th Floor. The Minotaurs were quite easy, if she were to be honest - she suspected that Cass and The Prettiest Princess might be able to face them down and win, in solo combat. She did not wish to speak ill of her friends and co-wives, but such creatures were mere fodder before her blade. Now that she had the chance to face down something like this, to truly stretch herself, to train vigorously - she couldn't retreat.

"You may retreat if you so wish," Erza said, Requipping into her Heaven's Wheel Armor and summoning forth over two hundred swords, reaching out with her Telekinesis to grasp them as she prepared to cut the titan down. "If I truly find myself stretched to my limits, I will flee as well, so do not stay for my sake."

Erza then began to attack, a thousand cuts and slashes made nearly simultaneously as she rushed forward, two swords in her hands as the hundreds of others intercepted the monster. The Goliath trembled beneath the barrage, but fought back nonetheless, batting aside swords and rushing forward to meet her. As she brought one blade around on the Goliath's hand, metal meeting solid flesh that it dug through like mud, she heard in the background Ryu begin the chant for her magic, and smiled, knowing that her friend had her back. She slipped low, keeping one blade biting into its palm, and the other slashed up for its wrist, cutting perhaps three inches deep before the creature pulled its hand back.

* * *

"What do you like about your husband?" Syr asked, idly leaning her chin on her hand, smiling at Cass.

"He's..." Cass trailed off. It was hard to put into words. Everything was. "He loves me..." That was part of it. He really, really loved her... out of every woman that existed, he'd picked her. It wasn't just that, though. "He's thoughtful. He tries... to do nice things..."

"Is that really all? I mean, doesn't everyone try to do nice things? Ah... I don't mean to be rude..."

"No... people... he..." It was special. Drake loved her for her, for the flaws too. She couldn't read, even though she knew he was a voracious reader himself, at least in his past life - he didn't mind. She struggled with words, so he just cuddled and held her instead. He never got annoyed no matter how many times he had to explain something to her, when it was difficult to grasp with just body language and she had to struggle through the words. He treated her differently, but not less... he never got frustrated when her problems were a problem, never even put them to the side for a moment to do something else. "I'm not good... with words."

Syr shifted uncomfortably where she sat. She could do more than just detect lies, Cass could tell that much.

They were interrupted when Mia Grand came stomping over to their table. She was a giant of a woman - a dwarf, apparently - with a muscular physique and brown hair, and she looked sternly down at Syr. "I seem to remember you saying that you would take Ryu's shift for the day, not that you would sit around talking to customers rather than doing your job."

"Ryu should be back by now, yell at her for not being here," Syr said, with a casual shrug and a smile. Mia Grand was not amused, and grabbed her by the arm, yanking her along. The pair spoke in a corner, quiet enough that Cass couldn't hear, but she could make out the body language. It wasn't quite that of employer and employee, or, there was something that Syr had on Mia, or she was more willing to quit than the average, or something like that... it was a genuine negotiation, not a scolding, she caught that much.

A minute of argument later, Syr plopped back down across the table from Cass, smiling brightly. "I said I'd work overtime so that we could keep talking," she said. "So! What do you do for fun?"

"I... train..." Cass admitted, and Syr nodded at that.

"What else?" Cass blushed as her thoughts went to sex with Drake. "Besides that," she said, sticking out her tongue playfully.

"Um... not much... I like training..."

"Hmm, I know a few people like that," Syr said. "You should try doing things for fun. I could take you somewhere nice? I've lived in Orario-" she paused for a moment to avoid telling a lie, "-for a long time."

"I don't know..." Cass said. Where was Erza?

* * *

She had lost a good number of swords to the Goliath, the creature batting them aside, and some twisting or shattering beyond the point of use. She held herself close to the creature, negating its reach advantage and allowing Ryu to continue to blast it from a distance. She heard, however, the crumble of the walls - then the distinct hooved footfalls of a number of minotaurs, as they emerged from the Dungeon. She grinned. "I thought this was going to be too easy!" She leapt back from the Goliath, shifting the blades in the air, stabbing out at the minotaurs as they tried to gather their strength to mob Ryu while she was distracted.

Of course, the Goliath took the opportunity to try to do so as well, one massive arm sweeping through where she was. It might even have struck her, if she hadn't leapt into the air, her Heaven's Wheel Armor allowing her to remain in the air far longer than would be natural, spinning around as she crash landed directly on one minotaur, her sword spearing right through its skull and sending its body tumbling to the ground ineffectually. "...imbue the light of stardust, and destroy the enemy!" Ryu declared, for the third time this battle, staggering slightly as the blast simply carved into the flesh of its torso.

"Can you continue to fight?" Erza asked, as she saw her friend falter for a moment.

"I can," Ryu said. "But I do not believe I can continue to cast magic. Particularly not with the arrival-" five minotaurs charged them, but it was a feint meant to distract her from the Goliath's next attack - she wasn't fooled, and grabbed her friend round the stomach before leaping into the air, hurling a sword crosswise down to carve into the creature's arm as it tried to sweep through the air. It dug in deep, and she tugged on it with Telekinesis, leaving a terrible gash that made the creature moan in agony. Its other arm came around for an ineffectual, flailing strike, but she simply jetted to one side, making it completely miss.

It was then that an axe impacted the back of her armor. It didn't penetrate, or hurt particularly, but it knocked her off balance, sending her spinning for a moment and forcing her to ground herself to recover. The Goliath tried to smash her from above this time, but she simply hurled Ryu to one side and brought her sword up - the creature slammed with all force into the blade, which promptly pierced through the flesh of its hand. She felt her feet sink into the ground beneath her as the battle became one of strength against strength, the monster even bringing its other hand into things to try to crush her.

She just grinned beneath the futile assault, shifting her weight, and withdrawing her sword from its hand with a fluid motion that curved downward, slipping to one side as both hands slammed into the ground. Each was easily bigger than her torso, and she leapt onto its forearm, rushing up for the head. It tried to shake her off, but she simply leapt again, using her flight to rapidly close in on its face, which it had brought in far too close.

A wyvern - a beast with two great wings and a scaled hide - descended from the ceiling, hot flame gushing forth from its mouth. She was forced to readjust to slice into the creature, flying with great agility and digging her sword straight through the flesh of its wing.

Her heart pounded in her chest, and she couldn't help but smile as the creature tumbled to the ground - and the Goliath, of course, had pulled back far enough to deny her such a grievous strike on its face as she had nearly made. Now this was a fight! The Dungeon up until now had been holding back, and she was delighting in seeing what it had to offer when it went all out.

"Well, what do you like about training?" Syr asked. Cass just frowned. "People get different things out of it. Becoming stronger. Perfecting a skill. The burn and ache of muscles."

"Um... it lets me... not think as much..." Cass explained.

"It's relaxing," Syr said, nodding to herself. "Mentally, I mean. Ooo! We could go dancing. Have you ever gone dancing?"

"Drake suggested it... but I've mostly been... training..." He had suggested a... dance show? Not dancing... but close enough. She probably should have taken him up on it, but she had been training to exhaustion in the Dungeon every day.

"We should definitely go dancing then!" Syr said, smiling brilliantly as she finally finagled the result she wanted.

"I don't... know if Drake would..."

"Do you really need his permission to go dancing?" Syr asked.

"Only when... the person I'd dance with... wants to..." she trailed off, blushing a bit at what Syr wanted.

"Wants to what?" Syr asked mischievously.

Cass ducked her head into her collar bone in embarrassment. "Do... things with me..."

"What kind of things?" Cass fidgeted. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, you're just too cute when you're blushing like that." She wore a radiant smile as Cass looked at her. It was completely guileless for what felt like the first time since she'd met Cass, and Cass had to confess she smiled back, more nervous than anything else.

Erza slammed into the wyvern where it was trying to breathe fire on Ryu, cutting into the flesh of its neck and decapitating it. The Goliath tried to bring a strike down on her, but its arms were cut quite sharply from countless different blows, and the attack was wayward enough she only had to dodge under it, rather than leap and dodge. She was soon in the midst of the creatures legs, and of course once she was there, she simply began to spin, cutting into its calves and thighs again and again as she danced around it, the creature stomping and kicking ineffectually, shrieking in agony and rage as it desperately tried to kill her.

Ryu fought off the last few minotaurs, the walls by this point having been thoroughly reduced to rubble from the creatures. Dozens littered the ground, forcing Erza to remain mindful of her footing lest she trip over one. One of the Goliath's toes was snipped off with a cut as it tried to stomp on her and she slid under it before slicing at its ankle on the opposite leg; an index finger as it tried to grab her and she simply leapt over it, sweeping the blade around towards the groin. Unfortunately, the creature didn't seem to have any particular arteries there, as she dug into the flesh, earning only a cry of anguish from the creature.

Instead of pulling it out, she used the dug-in blade to heft herself up, twisting it deeper into the flesh in the process as she soared right up for its head. It brought up its hands, but too slow - she dragged two blades around, cutting into creature's neck with a scissor motion, and it did need its throat, it seemed, as it collapsed to its knees, one hand going to its neck to control the flow of black blood, the other desperately reaching out for Erza, trying to grab her, to smash her, the creature's haggard expression one of pain.

She simply slammed her swords directly into its eyes, and the strength finally went completely out of it, the thing collapsing to the ground in a mess of blood and tangled, cut up limbs.

"Now, we must retrieve the magic stones!" Erza said brightly. This would be an excellent harvest. She wished that Noriko was here. She was better at this sort of thing than her. She couldn't wait to tell all her friends about her latest adventure!

A muscular catfolk man stepped into the bar, his every pore seeming to radiate violence. Cass could tell people who knew how to fight from those who didn't; people who were willing to kill from those who weren't; but the man was different. He was loud, loud enough that every person in the bar could detect that same violence from him, even though they probably weren't nearly as attuned to body language. It made it unpleasant to be in the same space as him. Syr glanced his way, frowning as she saw him, then turned her attention back to Cass.

"It's a date, then?" She asked, reaching over for one of Cass's hands, clasping it in hers. If the catman's bloodlust was loud before now, he was practically screaming it.

"No... I'll ask Drake... but if he says it's okay..." Cass said.

Syr seemed to mentally calculate for a few seconds, then smiled. "Tell him I promise not to kiss you or do anything lewd." She winked playfully, but Cass could tell she meant the promise. Then she hopped up from her seat. "I have to get back to work, sorry!"

She had barely gotten to the back room when Erza strode into the bar, drenched in blood, a bag of valis slung over her shoulder. "I'm sorry I'm late, Cassandra," she said, drawing her free hand to her chest as she bowed her head. "We were attacked by a Goliath on the fifteenth floor. Nonetheless, I have no excuse - I could have retreated, but I chose to fight it instead, despite knowing that you would be forced to wait for me! Please, hit me!"

"It's... okay..." Cass said quietly. Many people were looking at Erza now, muttering among themselves at Erza's statement.

"Oy!" Mia Grand stomped over to Erza where she stood. "Do you think that I like blood on my floor? I don't! Get out and wash up!"

"My apologies," Erza said. "I was late, and wanted to reassure my friend that I was well. I will return once I have properly cleansed myself." She bowed her head, and retreated back out the door.

There was a long moment of silence, then Mia yelled out. "Syr! I need you to clean up this damn blood!"

"Wh-why do I have to do that?" Syr asked, poking her head out of the kitchen.

"Because it's your fault that it's here," Mia replied, scowling.

"How is that?" Syr asked innocently, already knowing the answer.

"Because if you hadn't dragged Cass in here, then her friend wouldn't have come in and dripped blood everywhere! I don't pay you to argue with me! The blood's drying!"

"Sorry, sorry," Syr replied, ducking back into the kitchen to get a mop.

"...promised not to kiss me... or do anything lewd..." Cass explained quietly, as she related what had happened at the Hostess of Fertility to me.

I nodded, sitting down on the edge of the bed and thinking. Julia seemed to be thinking about it too, humming as she settled in next to me on the bed. Noriko just decided to hop in my lap, apparently uncaring about the situation as a whole. I just wrapped my arms around her stomach and perched my chin on top of her head. "What do you think she wants, Bitch?" I asked, of the only person present with good metaknowledge.

"Ah, I'm just a stupid bitch onahole, goshujinsama, but it sounds like she wants to go on a date with Cass!" I bonked her on the bank of the head - a flat, open palmed thing, not anything serious. "I don't know. Freya had lots of lovers, but I don't think Syr did? She had admirers, though."

"She was telling the truth about not doing anything lewd with you?" Cass nodded. I still didn't like the thought. I remembered her asking for a reading on her marrying Cass, and while she'd been playful about it, combined with this... the only real problem was that I was a lowly Level One still (the feeling of powerlessness that statement brought with it was why I was spending much more time in the Dungeon), and Syr was probably Freya, or related to Freya, or something that made it possible that if she didn't get what she wanted, she'd just take it. "I don't mind the idea of you having other friends or spending time with them, just... preferably not ones that are crazed yandere goddesses."

"Ah, goshujinsama, it's only Bell that Freya is yandere for," Julia said.

"Isn't her whole familia in love with her?"

"They are, but she's very blase about them all. It's like, mm... what makes something romantic is that it's thoughtful, important to the person, that kind of thing. Freya just absently throws out gifts, even if they're much bigger than a normal person's would be, there's not really any particular heart behind them. She comes off as only idly interested in anyone, except for Bell."

"Like a rich guy who just throws expensive gifts at his girlfriend, versus a planned, inexpensive, romantic evening and hand-crafted gifts."

"Yes! Exactly, goshujinsama," Julia agreed. "It's much more romantic when you just fuck my ass and choke me, than living as a sex slave in Ted's mansion could ever be, because you're doing it with thought and love."

I paused again, falling quiet. Noriko was the one who broke the silence. "Cassandra, do you feel romantically or sexually attracted to Syr?" Cass blushed a bit and shook her head. "Then there is not a problem. If she does begin to feel romantically or sexually attracted to Syr, then she should clarify to Syr that Syr must have lovey-dovey sex with you, darling, in order for her to be allowed to have a romantic relationship with Cass. This will allow you to acquire the points from seducing a girl."

"I don't know if that would work, joousama," Julia said.

"Get down on your knees and eat me out, Bitch," Noriko declared with utmost confidence, and Julia moved to obey despite the absurdity of doing it in this situation. "You are eating me out because it is a prerequisite for you being allowed to be my darling husband's lover. The same would be true for Syr."

"That's not really how it works," I said, hefting Noriko up for a moment so Julia could peel off the other girl's panties, and soon enough she was stuffed in there, licking, glancing up at me from between Noriko's porcelain thighs for approval. Noriko patted the girl's head.

"It is clearly how it works, as Bitch is eating me out, because you ordered her to obey me."

I just patted her head and kissed her cheek, not really knowing how best to explain it. "Different people have different preferences. Bitch does things like this because she likes it."

"I see."

"Do you want to go dancing with her, Cass?" I asked, and Cass hesitated.

"She wanted it... very badly..." she said at last. "I feel bad... about saying no... without a good reason... and I think I'd... enjoy it..."

"Alright then. I'll take you out dancing, and to the ballet - and then you can go out with Syr when you have the free time. I've only haven't been taking you out, because you've been really focused on the Dungeon, and I know you're that kind of person," for somebody who liked training as much as Cass, gamified training with no upper limit was probably the best thing ever, "but-"

It was then that the door to the room burst open, Loki in it. "Why is the Guild up my ass?"

"I don't know, they probably like anal," Julia replied, popping out of Noriko's sex for a moment.

"Shut up, Annoying," Loki said, with a dismissive wave of her hand, seeming to not even notice the lesbian display as she focused on Erza instead. "They're saying that you deposited a Goliath Tooth, despite being on file as being only a Level One."

I looked at Erza. "Yes. While in the Dungeon today, I had a truly wonderful fight with a Goliath." Loki's expression flattened as Erza went on. "The Dungeon spewed out countless minotaurs, and even a wyvern, attempting to surprise me, but I took them all down!"

"And you did this... alone?"

"No. I had a friend to help me!"

"And who was this friend?" Loki prompted.

"Ryu! She's a very talented maid, and a very talented adventurer! She's Level Four."

"So she did all of the work, and you just took in the spoils because she's not actually an adventurer," Loki declared, rolling her eyes. "Why didn't you say that?"

"Because it isn't true. It was I who cut into the Goliath's neck and thrust my blades into its eyes, who took down the wyvern, and indeed who slew many of the minotaurs." Loki's expression grew more and more exasperated as she went on. "Of course, Ryu's blasts surely weakened the monster, I do not wish to steal any credit from her, and her ability to handle some of the mass of minotaurs gave me the space to properly maneuver in the battle with the Goliath itself."

Loki just closed her eyes, rubbing her forehead. "Okay. You're going to go down to the guild and confirm your status. Don't say anything unnecessary."

"I understand," Erza agreed, nodding her head.

It was about then that Noriko moaned as she orgasmed, her thighs clamping down on either side of Julia's head, her hands reaching down to grasp the long dark hair. By extension, it was then that Loki realized that Julia was eating out Noriko. "Oh for the love of-!"

"Ah, you did bust in without knocking," I said.

Loki pursed her lips, squinting at me, then just shook her head, stomping out of the room without another word.

I gently hefted Noriko up off my lap, then slid out from under her, planting her down. She was too busy getting eaten out to pout. "Come on, Cass," I said, gesturing to the muscular girl, and she soon joined me in bed. I fucked her missionary at that point, long and excessively hard - when we were finally finished (me being more exhausted than Cass, naturally), I had Erza ride me, and gave her some spankings and smacks to her tits, earning pleased moans from the giving masochist.

Julia and Noriko managed to satisfy themselves with each other. Well, Julia wasn't fully satisfied (though she did come from playing with herself), but I decided I was too tired so I'd just use orgasm denial as an excuse to not fuck her.

Cass had really enjoyed her date with Drake. He had taken her out to the ballet, and she had watched with awe and joy as the dancers pranced around the stage, spinning, leaping, carrying one another, every movement carefully practiced, exotic, fascinating. It was like a beautiful light show to Cass's keen eyes, each burst of energy, of vigor. It had then been followed up by a dance - he was clearly new to dancing, but he learned quickly, and she could incorporate moves that she had seen at the ballet into a fluid set that did most of the work for him - and they had then gone home and had lots and lots of sex again. It had been wonderful, seeing his face twist up with pleasure, the way his whole body writhed in ecstasy again and again...

She hadn't mentioned any of this to Syr. Syr seemed so happy to hold Cass's hand and take her along with her through the town. She was trying very hard, showing her the sights, explaining to her about the food, but she was speaking so quickly, about things that were too abstract to really grasp easily, that a lot of it became a mush. "Their shi͝s͢h-̕k̕a̵bobs̶ are d҉el͠i̴c̷iǫu͠s, but you have to watch out for their tom̴atơes, their su͟p͞p͜l̨ier's iffy. If there's any d̵i͢sc̶olor̸a̕t̷i͠on, don't eat them." "Oh, they put on co̷medie̴s there every we͘e͝k͞en̡d̴, it's pretty fun to just go and watch a play! It's actually subs̢i͜dįz͟ed̸, so the tic̛ke͡ts are super cheap - free, even, if they don't fill up! Though they no͝r͢m̕a͏ll͝y͞ do."

Each time it happened that she offered some impenetrable explanation to Cass, Syr seemed to take a moment, realizing that something was off, and simply moved onto the next subject she wanted to explain, hoping that it would go better. Drake wasn't like that. When she didn't understand something, Drake would pause everything to explain it to her. She liked that. The way that Syr acted... it was like she didn't care if Cass understood what she was getting at, or didn't want to put in the effort to explain it, or... something to like that, at least...

It wasn't actually that, Cass knew. It was just that Syr was trying to keep up momentum. But it felt dismissive anyway.

The dancing was nice. Syr was a much better dancer than Drake. She moved with a fluidity and skill that Cass was soon mimicking, earning a broad smile from the other girl as they spun and danced in near-perfect harmony. They acquired the attention of the entire crowd at the dance hall, everybody looking at the pair of them as they bounced around, getting a round of applause as they finished dancing.

"You're the best dance partner I've ever had," Syr said with confidence, and sincerity, as the pair sat down to eat some little bit of food that she'd prepared. "When did you learn?"

"Today," Cass said, honestly. Syr blinked at that. "From you." Syr blinked again.

Then she giggled, smiling warmly, almost infectiously. "I guess I must be an amazing teacher, then," she decided, taking Cass's hand in hers once more. Her thumb brushed against the back in an intentionally intimate act, but one that nonetheless didn't violate the agreement to not kiss her or do lewd things. "What else could I teach you, I wonder?" She teased. "No, not that, since I already promised I wouldn't, and I'm a woman of my word." She seemed to consider the question for a moment, then snapped her fingers. "I think I know a place you'll enjoy," she said, and the words were true, but there was a certain mischief in them, something she was going to reveal later. "Come on, let me show you something," she said, grasping Cass's hand and pulling her along with her.

Cass decided to follow her, Syr smiling brightly as she wandered down the streets of Orario, making their way eastward. The architecture soon shifted, clean lines drafted long ago becoming a maze of twisting alleys, stairs that went up and down and around, bridges between buildings, every manner of strange architectural sight as Syr wandered through the place as if she knew it - but it also was soon becoming clear in a meandering fashion, taking her time in getting wherever they were going.

It made Cass stop short suddenly, Syr briefly jerking as she was no longer able to pull Cass along with her, the gray-haired girl glancing back over her shoulder at Cass in confusion. "Is something the matter?" She glanced around as if checking to see if something was the matter - perhaps hopeful?

"What... are you doing?"

"Hmm?" Syr asked, pretending not to understand the question. "This is Daedalus Street," she said, with a grand gesture of one hand, the other still clasping Cass's own. "I'm showing you around. It's beautiful, isn't it? All the strange, wonderful twists and turns. The man who designed it was quite mad," she continued, still holding Cass's hand tightly. "It's the poorest district - nobody with money wants to live here, but the impenetrable design makes it a good place to hide, if you're a thief. They call it the second Dungeon."

"That's not... what I mean..." Cass replied. "You... are wasting time?"

"Hmm? I like spending time with you, Cass," she said, with a beneficent smile. "It's not a waste, to spend it with you."

This was what Cass didn't like about Syr the most. It had been easy to forget about it, when they were dancing, or she was chattering on and on about this or that. She was almost always lying, in one sense or another, and that was the case now too. "I'll go home..." she decided, turning around, and Syr let out a panicked noise, both hands going for Cass's hands, getting briefly dragged along with her.

"Sorry, sorry, let's go to the orphanage, okay Cass?" Cass paused at that. "I'll take the fastest route if that's what you want. I wanted to show you around," Syr said. Cass considered slowly whether or not to go with her, her falna-enhanced strength and sure footing meaning that Syr's grip on her hands couldn't do anything no matter how Syr threw her weight into it.

As she considered, though, a young man emerged from around the corner. He looked almost ordinary, as far as the people around him went - the same somewhat haggard clothing, perhaps the hint of deprivation, but what was obvious to Cass the moment he came into view was his intent. He saw two victims, in Cass and Syr, sizing the pair up for just a fraction of a second before starting to walk towards them.

Syr followed Cass's gaze, and then scurried around Cass, interposing the other girl between her and the man in question. "Please protect me, Cass," she said, her voice trembling with fear. With her position, Cass couldn't see her body language, which ruined her ability to tell if she was faking, but she wasn't willing to take her eyes off the man who clearly had malicious intent. She didn't think he had a falna, by the way he walked, but his hand idly slipped to his waist, reaching for a weapon there.

It didn't matter. When he got close enough, his hand started to move to withdraw the knife from his back, and Cass moved. He seemed to be moving in slow motion compared to her, even more than usually might be the case. She slid forward as he drew forth his knife, painfully slowly, and she managed to make a knife strike to his wrist before it could even come out. The blade clattered out of his hand from the force, his weight falling to one side at the sudden pain, losing his balance. A sweep of her legs sent him the rest of the way down, but she grabbed his neck before he hit the ground and lowered him the last few inches, keeping him from cracking his head - potentially deadly - against the ground.

He tried to attack her the moment that she grabbed him, but he moved like through molasses, and she grabbed one wrist with her free hand, twisting it, spinning his whole body around to put him on his stomach. "That was amazing," Syr said, as Cass quietly bound the man's hands behind his back, stripping part of his clothes into a makeshift knot and testing it.

Cass smiled uncertainly at Syr's words, while the man cussed her out. Nobody responded to his cries - if anything, they seemed to become less inclined to interfere the more loudly he complained, the more he said he was being assaulted and attacked. Cass's expression grew darker as she held the man down. She had just been focused on the Dungeon, on Drake, and she had forgotten about helping people. She shouldn't have done that. She rose to her feet, hefting the man up with her. "Where do you take... what's the word..."

"I don't know, what is the word?" Syr teased, and Cass felt her emotions boil over at the words. Embarrassment and frustration at sometimes being unable to find words, despite how hard and how long she'd been working at it. Even anger at Syr, for teasing her about it. Instantly, Syr changed her speech, becoming conciliatory in tone. "Sorry. Criminals, you mean?" Cass nodded. "The Ganesha familia runs the public jails, for criminals without a falna like him."

"I see... where is that?" Cass asked.

"I'll show you," Syr declared, smiling as Cass dragged the - constantly complaining - man to prison. Her posture suggested that she felt completely safe, despite turning her back on a violent man. Not because of her own power - Syr really did seem to just be an ordinary girl, in those terms - but because she trusted someone else to protect her.

Cass did find herself smiling, just a little, at that fact. That Syr trusted her like that, guilelessly.

"You're much prettier when you smile," Syr said, as she glanced over her shoulder at Cass. Cass felt her cheeks color again at that.

"Why don't you two let me go, and you can find some alley to fuck in," the man spat. Syr looked positively incensed at his words, stopping her forward momentum to instead stomp back towards him, bringing up one hand to strike his face. Cass intercepted it easily, making Syr frown as her wrist was captured by Cass's hand.

"You can't... beat people that can't... fight back..." Cass said.

Syr's expression shifted again. Annoyance. Anger. Frustration. Acceptance. Then a smile, half true, half hiding the still-present annoyance. "You're right, Cass. I'm sorry." She looked at the man, seeming to consider coming back for him later, or otherwise avenging herself in some way Cass wouldn't see.

"Don't..." Cass said, quietly. Syr pouted.

"Okay. As a favor to you. He did try to do all sorts of terrible things to you."

"I didn't try to do shit to you," the man argued. "This chick just attacked me out of nowhere!"

"You had... a knife..."

"That's not a crime, you adventurers all have knives," the man said, continuing to angrily grumble and grouse. It didn't help him at all, even when he did it to the Ganesha familia and tried to pretend to be innocent.

By the time they finished that, the sun was starting to set, and Cass felt a draw in two directions. Home, to Drake, her husband, or back to Day-da-lus Street. Despite the visible differences, the place felt like Gotham in a way that the rest of Orario didn't. People living in quiet fear of criminals. People who needed protection.

As she parted ways with Syr, she went not north to the Twilight Manor, but east, back to Day-da-lus Street. She bought a black mask from one of the stalls. She couldn't read the price, or do the math, so she told the man to take the appropriate amount from some offered coins. When he tried to steal more than was fair, she stopped him. She wound up having to twist his pinky and make him spin his torso thirty degrees, to keep him from trying a second time.

I had sent Julia out to keep an eye on Cass, just in case Syr tried something, so that we'd know in advance. I hadn't told Cass about it, either, to keep her from accidentally letting it slip. Syr almost certainly had part of Freya's powers (if she wasn't just straight up Freya somehow), so she was presumably a lie detector or the like. "Their date went well, and Syr went home. She didn't try to kiss Cass or do anything lewd with her, either, don't worry, goshujinsama," Julia explained, when she came back. "But Cass is busy doing something personal to her. I don't know if she'd want me to tell you about it..." Julia said, trailing off.

"As long as she's safe, it's fine," I said, sighing as I laid back in bed. "You were a good girl, Bitch, but I'm feeling lazy today, so just get down there and suck me off."

"Yes, goshujinsama!" She didn't seem annoyed in the slightest, as she hopped in between my legs and pulled down my underwear - I wasn't wearing pants, just because I feel more comfortable that way, and it was our bedroom, anyway. She started to bob up and down, beginning to play with herself, and then Noriko spoke.

"When you make my darling come, you will then come over here and eat me out, too, Bitch."

"Yesh jooshama," she slurred out around my dick. I just lazed back in the bed and enjoyed myself before eventually falling asleep in a tangled mess with three of my wives.

Cass only came home shortly before dawn, at which point she promptly collapsed on the bed without saying a word.
