Brrring -brrring.
Guuhhh… really, just five more minutes
Brrring -brrring
Please…
Brrring -brrring
Wait… I’m forgetting something.
Brrring -brrring
IT’S NOT AN OFF-DAY!!!
Brrring -brrri— CRASH!!!
I threw the clock on the wall, the sheets fluttered against the wind as they were rudely flipped from my body and bed. I could have it be disorganized for a day, getting late to work would be worse, that manager could make the tiniest of mistakes weigh as much as a mountain if they were in a bad mood.
I looked at the clock on the desk on the other side of the room. Yes, I have many clocks, many more broken ones. Regardless. 7:34, be there at nine, takes an hour to get there, 8:34, 26 minutes left. can’t go without makeup, fuck that manager. so 10 less minutes, 16 minutes. enough time to shower, I’m so happy that I don’t have long hair. I rushed through the bathroom. I left it a mess… not. I had my makeup all organized in accessible ways on my desk with a mirror on the wall. so all I had to do was close the lids, weirdly enough I don’t remember taking a shower the memory is there, but it takes too much time sifting through it.
Regardless, I was passing through the living room. “Goodbye mom, going to work—.” The vigilante was once again able to do the job for the police, this time apparently with more ease, no innocent was harmed. When are the police going… I ignored it from now on, not waiting for her to respond to me. I just got to the bus stop in time for it to appear. I… wasn’t as exhausted as I thought I would be. At least it isn’t summer, I hate being a sweaty mess. I exhaled all my frustrations as I took out my phone. UGH… it’s Thursday, that creep will be there again won’t he… fuck. I can’t even do shit since he does act like a client. Once again, fuck the manager. ‘If only one of those heroes would appear this time.’ I thought once again, on another Thursday, as if a miracle would happen. My eyes are drawn to the novel I use to pass the time.

“Welcome, Table for two?” I asked the couple who just entered. My mind blurring their image with all the other couples that I have seen just today. Just my luck. It almost feels like valentines, but that would only mean that the day itself will be worse. Not like I was jealous, just that… They always find a way to make a mess. there is a 1 to 100 chance that some couple will have a fight. and with the amount of couples who come by is higher, so at least every 3 days there is one that has to be appeased and dragged out. and it always falls to me to do that. so such contemptment was born. Still have to serve them, until the water boils over.
With a smile as real as I can make I guided them to… two window seats, weird, but okay. “What would you like today then?” I asked both of them, the boy asked for a… Hamburger combo. Weird for a date but okay. As I glanced towards the girl she just shook her head, with a smirk for some reason. I shrugged, I’ve seen weirder, you’re bound to, around here.

I went around back to post the order for the kitchen. Why we still use handnotes and not an Epad for this goes over my head, but the manager never explains why. She does, I just don’t understand. But Today was better, that creep didn’t come.
BLING!!
The loud bell with its wretched existence on the door chimed, meaning that there is another client. And there he was in his majest— no I can't make a comparison like that, though he certainly at first glance was from a book of fairy tail royals. I quickly hurried to the kitchen, the staff looked at me like I was a trespassing thug on another’s territory. “SHHH!” I made the loudest and quietest shush and pointed to the creep. They quickly understood why, and let me hide here, though I would not overstay, I had learned that lesson quickly, once again fuck that manager.
The blond bastard should just never come again, but nooo, the fucker had to be loaded. And he had to get a fancy, thankfully someone else was already serving him. All I had was to be careful of not appearing directly in front of him, he almost certainly needed glasses, but I think pride would not let him.
Imagining all the worst things happening to him I left, seeing that there was another customer, maybe he entered together with the bastard, since I did not hear the blasted bell. “Welcome, would you like a single table?” He nodded, I let him to the bench wall. He asked for a drink, and would ask for something else later. he would pay more without the combo but okay, more money. I went to the kitchen counter to deliver the order. But I could see that the cooks were shooing me away, and the newcomer was agitated… wasn’t he the one with the bastard? Don’t tell me…
“Hello, we meet again, by coincidence.” Sniffs. “You once again smell amazing, would you be inclined to come with me today. Really I have prepared a dance hall all for ourselves…” And he continued on. As if I would accept, for some reason he goes higher and higher every time he comes here. I glanced at the newcomer… Josh, his face was contorting as he also listened to the bastard. Really, I can’t even fault him, he was hired 2 days ago. I will still pay him back.
“...And there is this castle. Hey. Are you listening to me!” Even when screaming he smiled like a kid, full of innocence, this guy was spoiled to hell and back. I was moving away from him, I didn’t even register where I ended up at. But he took my wrist, not too hard for it to hurt, but I could not release myself at all. “Please, just tell me what I need to do to get your heart.”
Everything happened faster then I could register, the touch of the bastard was probably enough for me to blank out. But when I went back… He was on the ground, and the… the guy who was with that smirking girl was around me, keeping his distance, but worried. “Are you okay, I could only see him taking your wrist right now, did he do anything else.” I just nodded, more baffled by the fact that he was genuine, I could see it in his eyes. “I’m okay, don’t worry, though he was barraging me with the request of ‘my heart’ he would say.” He looked relieved, weird, and the girlfriend was looking at me waving, weird, once again. but not out of the ordinary around here. He even apologized to me before going back to his seat. Don’t know why, but he was glowing, though not actually. I looked over every time I had the time towards him, and the girlfriend only smiled either to him or to me. Maybe they are just friends?
The only time I did a double take was when I was by a customer who I just remembered ordered a drink. Since he was looking at them as well, maybe one of their parents? Though it doesn’t feel like it.
“Hello, customer, might I know what business you have with the couple over there?” I did not hide the hostility from my heart. He seemed surprised by my words, taking a second to register my face for some reason, following with a question.
“Couple?” With a head tilt, what are you a dog! “Yes, that one.” I pointed to the couple by the window. “Ah, yes, he, no, I’m sorry I was spacing out, sorry.” And he looked over back— wait. “Wait, couple? I’m sorry miss?”
“Sarah.” I responded in a monotone voice. “Yes, Miss Sarah, you mean that there is a couple over there?” I nodded, glancing to see the girl giggling as she looked here. Why? “You see, that boy is alone… there is no one even close to him.” Wait what? No… I can see the girl, crystal clear, I looked over as if he was insane. “Have you gone to a psychiatrist? ‘Cause I know a good and cheap one.” He said before me, even giving me a card, for a Dr. Drake Stevens. Not that far, wait, why am I even considering this. I looked over to him to start spewing curses as I would not be called crazy again, but I could not, as the girl could be seen, not to the side, leaning into my vision, but in the table, yes, in the table, not on. as if the table had a face. with a grin plastered on their face as if they were successful on a prank.
I froze, I couldn’t even stop looking at the face that went away after some moments, taking a few seconds for it to fully register. “Thank you.” I said to the man, I would need to go to a psych for an eval. I didn’t even register the rest of the day. Friday was my day off, And they had a free time at evening, though they say it will rain tomorrow, maybe I will take an umbrella
