Just before Melie left the Daughter of Silesia, she got to witness a grand spectacle. Laced with the strongest aphrodisiacs, the atmosphere was almost too thick to breathe. It was fascinating to watch the orgy consuming the floors of an entire hanger block. So many fertile women, in the prime of their youth, getting to ride whichever man was bound to the floor. The male slaves that had earned some measure of respect were allowed to freely wander around the vast chamber. Those women who preferred a more dominate touch were eager to fall into their balky arms instead.

But that had come and gone, and still Melie found herself feeling empty. She wasn’t sure exactly what to expect once she had inserted herself onto the ship her mistress chased. It had been so long since she got to inhale a clean breathe of air, Melie was almost frightful of the prospect.

Melie already decided the kind of man she wanted the moment she was rescued. The moment she heard his voice, his rich elaborate voice, she fell in love. After she saw him face to face, she was utterly swooned. Her loins were practically sobbing when he offered her a hand from the small evacuation pod.

Thankfully her recent physical enhancements should make things a little easier for her. Melie wore a dark skin tight suit that clung to her engorged cleavage and supple curves. The mistress had worked wonders on her flesh, although Melie wasn’t sure if the heightened libido was necessary. She was already creaming for his manhood, there wasn’t a need to encourage her desire any further. Melie had the distinct impression that her mistress wanted to test her, to see if she could control her yearnings if pressured. If that was the case, Melie wasn’t happy about it.

The moment she sat foot onto the Star of Argon, she felt an overwhelming sense of dejavu. It wasn’t too dissimilar from the very ship she had been captured from. It’s insides were clean, and brightly lit. It was so immaculate, despite all the clutter on the floor, that one could strobe ones finger along the wall panels and not find a trace of dust. Wrenches, machine parts, and lots of tubes were scattered around the small fighter, along with lots of other bits and pieces she couldn’t identify. The small pod she had been stored in was kept to the corner of the hanger, almost like an oversized trash bin.

Melie hated being in that stupid evacuation pod. It was old, smelly, and cramped. It was designed for utility rather than comfort, and clearly the designers didn’t anticipate it would actually be used. If they had, they would’ve at least added some padded seating.

Her rear was sore, and her back still felt cramped. Melie had to sit in the small container for hours before her mistress sent her the message to eject into the void. It was always a gamble as to whether the Star of Argon would actually move to save her. Although, if they hadn’t then her mistress would’ve just picked her up, no harm done. But if it worked, which clearly it had, then her job would officially begin.

Melie knew she had to explain why she was on the station to begin with, something her mistress wasn’t creative enough to give her a backstory for. Instead, Mellie was left to her own to come up with a frightful tale. She was never a good storyteller.

“What were you doing on that random station in the middle of nowhere?” The question came to her on the comm just before she had been allowed to leave the pod.

Melie had time to consider a number of options, but ultimately decided that the simplest story was likely the most believable. “Would you believe it if I told you I might have been cast away?”

“What?” Even befuddled, the pilots voice stirred her loins.

“My crew left me behind,” There was a quiver in Melie’s voice. She continued nervously, “they were generous enough not to jettison me into the void, instead they locked me in a listening post with some life support still operational.”

“Why did they do that?” His voice kept a somber, almost stale tone. It made Melie wonder if he was believing her.

“I may have been a little…ok I’ll be honest. I thought I was joining a crew to ship some supplies between Port Misery and Darkhold, but they only wanted me for something more. I didn’t sign up as a comfort liaison…so I fought back. And after I broke the captains jaw, they were so happy to throw me away.”

There was a short pause before the pilot spoke, “I’m sorry to hear that.”

“It’s ok, no harm done.” Melie almost felt proud of herself for coming up with the small story so quickly, even if it didn’t sound that credible.

Once the pod was opened, Melie was so happy to finally stretch her legs. The atmosphere of the Star of Argon was not too dissimilar from most other void ships, recycled air always held a rancid odor no matter how many times it was refreshed. It did smell remarkably better than the mistress’s ship, for it hadn’t been polluted by hundreds of unwashed slaves or enriched with other chemicals. There was a cinnamon scent mixed into the layers of smells, likely spliced into the ozone by the air conditioning to give it a more pleasing aroma. At least, it helped to make it easier to breathe.

Once freed, Melie had to keep herself from prancing in excitement all over the hanger bay. The few mechanics that were there were immediately accommodating. They offered her fresh clothes, some hot coffee, and even some packaged pastries. She munched on all of these, but struggled to keep her eyes off the noble fighter pilot who saved her. Reward Cotte seemed far more interested with his fighter than herself, and complained to one of the mechanics about some kind of issue with the steering.

Melie listened to the conversation, not realizing she was being watched.

“So this is the fool who needed rescuing?” The voice was feminine, and fierce.

Melie looked over at whoever was casting the hulking shadow. The woman was incredibly tall, and broad shouldered. Melie found herself stupefied looking up at her. “I…uh…hello.”

“Glad to see you too Lora,” Reward walked over carrying a wrench in one hand and a fat cup of coffee in the other. “Allow me to introduce you to Melie, just a humble thief stranded on a derelict for hiding her contraband from her previous crew.”

“What!” Melie turned around in her seat. That was not part of her story.

“Judging by the dumb tale she tried to spoon feed me, she must still be sore about not getting away with it. I’m actually half excited about what I might find searching through her escape pod.” Reward looked over at the pod, studying its cramped confines as if it could somehow contain any bounty.

“I’m not a—” Melie tried to argue, only to be cut off.

“Makes sense, unless your a spy discretely put in place just before that eerie ghost ship found us.” Lora crossed her arms,  “In which case, you’ll shut down our engines, and alert that ship as to our whereabouts on the first opportunity.”

Melie froze, her mouth suddenly went dry. She wished she knew what to do.

“Whats with the long face?” Lora smirked, looking down on her like a giant specter.

“I’m not a spy!” Melie blurted. “That doesn’t make any sense!” She tried to play as frightened as possible.

Lora just shrugged, “Yeah, that doesn’t really sound convincing.”

“Stop torturing the poor thing,” Reward leaned against his fighter while playing with the wrench. “The captain cleared her for boarding, he wouldn’t have done that if he thought she was a danger. And besides, she would make a terrible spy.”

“Reward, stop getting attached to every damsel in distress.” The brooding mercenary shot him an awkward glare. Melie got the distinct impression that the woman was intoxicated. Her stature caught her off guard at first, but once calmed Melie noticed the slight slur in Lora’s voice, and the subtle bounce in her step.

“I’m telling the truth,” just saying it out loud didn’t sound genuine.

“If you say so,” Lora groaned. “Just to be sure, we’ll be keeping you on ice until we reach Sinmore. You could figure things out from there.”

Before Melie could even protest, the mercenary looked over at Reward to ask a question. “Also flyer boy, could you bring me a bottle of some of that home made stuff you’ve been brewing down here to my room? Oh, and leave the jumpsuit behind. Thanks.”

That bitch! Melie balled her hands into fists, and was about to lash out when the mercenary scooped her up with one arm and threw her over her shoulder. Melie could do nothing but grind her teeth as she was carried out of the room. Her beautiful man just looked at them dumbfounded.

I will get you! And then I’ll have him all to myself. Melie promised herself. Fear of failing her mistress had somehow become secondary.

Within minutes Lora had carried the small, yet voluptuous, girl like a sack all the way to C-deck, and then to the hibernation pods. Melie thrashed as she was, not so carefully, forced into one of the stationed pods.

Lora yawned as it sealed shut, and in her half drunken state she keyed in a series of parameters half heartedly. She didn’t even pay attention to all the alert messages, and error readouts. Had she known this was the same pod that Dithy had messed with earlier, Lora would’ve enlisted someone else’s help. Instead she just kept slamming her hand down on the panel until it finally started the initiation sequence.

With the pod sealed shut, Lora strode away. She was eager to find another bottle of something strong, and didn’t look back when the panel displayed a series of alerts. Alerts that were left ignored.
