Chapter 6: Interlude – A Game Lover

People desire to get married at a certain age, but sometimes what they desire, doesn't really exist in our reality.

Hikaru had spent his entire life chasing after a dream of being a successful writer, after achieving this dream his life was basically over.

He desired a change, and he got that change in a game called ♡♡♡Love Forever♡♡♡.

In Love Forever Hikaru met the girl of his dreams, she was beautiful, she was kind, in her eyes there was a blue ocean, and the best think about Sakura was, she only talked when Hikaru wanted her to talk.

Hikaru could quit the game and she would just shut up. She could never bother him unless he wanted to. A reinvigorated Hikaru worked on his day job to earn money and give gifts to his girlfriend.

As the years passed on, their bond grew more stronger, Hikaru gradually drifted away from the reality. He starved himself from days, sometimes from months. And his body became thin and malnourished like Kayako.

Hikaru was an orphan, so he was free from the Japanese version of family drama.

One day while he was busy writing a story, someone knocked on his door. Hikaru moved like a snail, and finally after five minutes he was able to open the door.

'Took you a while. It looks like you aren't really in a good condition.'

'What are you here for Police Officer?'

'I'm here to help you Hikaru-san. You might die if this continuous on.'

'Leave me be. I'm happy with Sakura.'

'If you die, you can never meet her again, Hikaru-san. It took you so long to find a replacement for your dead girlfriend. You don't want her to disappear like Utaha. '

'How do you know about that?'

'I know everything about you Hikaru-san. May we have chat inside, I can guide you towards your happiness.'

'Come in then... but don't touch anything. I need things in a certain place, if they are moved I feel irritated.'

'Don't worry about anything. I'm gonna sit on that cushion and guide you towards happiness.'

'So what can you do for me?'

'Hikaru-san your love for a game character has touched the heart of many people, me included.'

'Are people watching me? Am I a character?'

'We are all characters on the world stage, some get televised on channels while some are personal favourites of beings who we can never see with our own eyes.'

'Cut that bullshit. Tell me how can you help me?'

'How? Never mind don't answer that question. Before I change my mind, get on with that procedure.'

'You give me permission to help you, Hikaru-san.'

'I would give you permission. Just help me for the last time.'

The stranger's shadow grew more bigger and bigger until it completely enveloped the body of Hikaru. The human body crumbled like dust, his ashes were collected by the stranger and he smeared them over the Nintendo 3Ds console owned by Hikaru.

The stranger turned on the console, and for some unexplainable reason, Hikaru was playable character inside the game ♡♡♡Love Forever♡♡♡. You could pair him with Sakura and guide them towards a happy ending.

But who would play an old dating sim, except for a nice otaku.

'What you want something?'

'You erased his existence from this realm.'

'He wanted to be with the person he loved. And I sent him there. He would forever be happy with Sakura.'

'Then what about me, I was only haunting him so he could be with me forever.'

'You see Utaha-san, ghost and human marriages have become a cliche ending, people up there desire something new. You are dead anyway. Why do you need something intangible like love? Go haunt your favourite Oppa. I'm sure you loved a member of a boy band, while you were alive.'

'I... I'm gonna kill you for taking my love away from me.'

'Sigh... I really didn't wanna do this.'

The stranger moved suddenly, and he embraced the spirit of Utaha, and she crumbled like dust.

'Oh I'm sorry guys I killed her it was my bad, I owe you one. I'm gonna find new entertainment for you guys.'

'You could have saved me, but you didn't, why the fuck did you do that?' Grant screamed

'Oh another one, your girlfriend Grant has been chosen for an experiment by beings that are too powerful for you mortal mind to understand.'

'I'm gonna tell her everything about you.'

The stranger stomped on the ground before Grant could apparate. The stranger used his shadow to turn Grant's spiritual body into ashes.

Just like earlier, the Stranger smeared Grant's ashes on the Nintendo 3ds Console and just like Hikaru, Grant too became a game character
