—3rd Person POV—

Having returned from gathering necessary materials for their operations, Overhaul noticed straight away that something was amiss. Sensing that the men were on edge, he thought that a police raid had cost them one of their bases. Turning to one of the Yakuza lieutenants, Overhaul asked how much they lost in the raid.

“There was no raid…”, the lieutenant answered nervously.

“Why is everyone acting so nervous then? Did someone turn on us?”, Overhaul inquired as he looked around to see who was missing.

Noticing that one of his most trusted men, Chronostasis, was missing he asked if Chronostasis was still watching Eri. Seeing the man flinch at the mention of her name, Overhaul knew what was wrong.

“She got out again, didn’t she…”, he growled with annoyance, “Why aren’t there more people out looking for her?! You do realize she is the most important piece to this operation, right?”

Killing the lieutenant in a blind rage, he calmed himself down and turned to one of the nearby grunts. Asking why they weren’t out looking for her, the grunt told him that she was taken in by a Pro Hero.

“A Pro Hero, so what? We have ways to deal with them.”, Overhaul stated motioning to the cases of early production Quirk Suppression bullet, “Which Hero took her in?”

“The…the Lightning Hero: Kessler…”, the grunt gulped.

“That’s perfect then, he doesn’t have any sidekicks or an agency backing him up. We can go take Eri back right now!”, Overhaul laughed thinking Kessler was just riding on the coattails of his family name.

“Sir!! Please don’t think about doing that!!”, one of the Yakuza Captains shrieked, “He mangled Chronostasis and many other villains he has been catching recently. That guy doesn’t give two shits about our lives, if we attack him he might kill us!! For god sake, he turned those kidnappers into charcoal!!”

Turning to look at the captain, Overhaul was confused why he was so worried. Life and death were nothing new for the Yakuza, it had been that way since the first Yakuza took to the streets. If Kessler killed them, it would just sully his reputation and cause him to lose public support. There was no reason to be concerned with that, all Heroes cared more about their pocketbooks than actual justice…save for All Might of course.

“I don’t care, we need Eri back if we are going to complete our project. If you are so concerned about him, look for any opportunity you can to take her while he is away. He can’t be with her 24/7, he has to patrol regularly to keep his license.”, Overhaul growled with annoyance, “Now get out there, and bring her back to me!!”

Scurrying away like mice, the grunts set out to do as they were told. They knew that death awaited them no matter which option they chose, they just didn’t realize that death by Overhaul’s hands was far less painful than by Kessler's.

While the Yakuza were beginning their research, Tomura was sitting down with the Meta Liberation Army’s second in command, Curious, for a meeting. Having taken over for their leader, while Rikiya sat in Tartaros, Curious was working hard to find a way to free him. It was during that process she received a meeting invitation from Tomura asking to discuss a possible alliance. Knowing that Kessler had caused them trouble as well, Curious was willing at least to hear them out.

“Hello.”, Tomura said reaching his hand out.

“Pardon me…I would rather not, after all, I want to keep my hand in one piece.”, Curious remarked knowing what he was capable of.

Retracting his hand, Tomura got right to the point.

“We would like to arrange a temporary alliance with the Meta Liberation Army. Both of us seek revenge against Kessler and the Hero Society at large.”, Tomura stated repeating what All For One told him.

“I see…why should we trust a group that barely has any members and has no name?”, she pointed out, “Given enough time, we will break out our leader out of prison and cure what Kessler did to him.”

“Do you have someone that specializes in undoing such extensive damage? We have someone that could perform the procedures necessary to restore him to the way he was. Our member has managed to rebuild a human body from the brink of death so this would be a cakewalk for him.”, Tomura reminded her, “If you wish to risk leaving his mental damage permanent, by all means, do as you wish.”

Hiding her thoughts behind a strong poker face, Curious weighed the benefits and cons of an alliance with them. She knew all about All For One’s ability to steal Quirks which made him a threat to all Quirk users. This might be their way of lowering the Meta Liberation Army’s guard to take the Quirks of their strongest members, but then again rumor was All For One was still laid up after his loss at the hands of All Might several years ago.

‘This is our best course of action.’, she finally concluded, “What did you have in mind?”

Cracking a smile, Tomura started to tell her what they needed from the Meta Liberation Army. Jotting the plan down, so she could communicate it to her comrades, Curious got ready to leave after getting the basic details of the operation. Getting up from her seat, Curious told him she’d reach out to them once they were ready to proceed. Once she was out of earshot, Kurogiri asked if it was really alright to tell her the plan.

“Master told me to give only the basic information if we needed to convince them to join us.”, Tomura replied, “We have our own part to play now, we will need a lot of fodder to keep the students and Pros busy.”

“Of course, I know a few places to start recruiting.”, Kurogiri said, “I will take care of the preparations. Master said that you would handle arranging the test run at UA, correct?”

Scratching his neck, Tomura said that he would take care of it soon. He had been putting it off since their contacts in the media gave him the creeps. The husband and wife couple were well regarded in the public eyes as humanitarians, but in reality, they were far from good people. Tomura had been to their secret home in Russia during one of All For One’s medical treatments.

The couple made a sport out of hunting down Quirk Users whose Quirks made them look non-human. Using various names and identities, they traveled the world gathering specimen for their hunts which they held on a monthly basis. They were Huntsman Family, the now number 5 on the Hero Associations Most Wanted List.

‘Killing people is one thing…mounting their heads on walls as trophies is another.’, Tomura thought remembering the terrified faces on the walls of their home.

—Next Day, Cole POV—

Escorting Eri to school, Eri was super excited to meet her classmates. Running circles around me as we walked to her school, I couldn’t help but smile at her. As we drew near the school, I saw Fuyumi waiting out front for us. Having explained the situation to her over the phone the night before, she was very enthusiastic about helping Eri.

“Good morning Eri!”, Fuyumi said with an equally bright smile.

“Good morning Miss Teacher!”, Eri replied jumping up and down with excitement.

“Now Eri, please listen to your teachers. If you have any problems with other students, just let one of the teachers know.”, I told her like a doting father.

“I know!”, she stated before running after the other students.

Telling her to wait a moment, since she didn’t know where her classroom was, I was a moment too late as she was already inside the school. Letting out a sigh, I realized that my wives had it tough with our kids as they would have inherited some of my stats and abilities.

“Hehe, she is quite adorable.”, Fuyumi admitted, “She is quite lucky to have been taken in by you. I have seen children in the system that lose the happiness she has, it’s good to see even one child not lose it.”

“Be the way, I am sorry about those baseless rumors the news is spreading.”, I said apologetically.

“It is fine, I have endured far worse because of them. Being Endeavor’s daughter means I have had my fair share of scandals.”, she assured me with a smile, “Anyways, are you seeing anyone?”

“No, that’s why I find the articles laughable.”, I answered with a smirk.

Nodding her head, she told me she’d like to get dinner sometime with me again. Telling her I would like that as well, she told me she had to go since she had to find Eri and make sure she made it to class safely. As I was about to leave the area, I glanced over at a vehicle that had been following Eri and me since we left the mansion.

‘The Yakuza are pretty bold for using old tactics like this.’, I thought, ‘Now that they know I will be dropping Eri off here every morning, they are going to target the school. They won’t attack today since it’s too short notice, but they will attempt it in about a week or so. I will be waiting here for them and deal with Overhaul before he gets close to Eri. That bastard will learn the meaning of fear from me, I will carve it into his chest.’

Pointing at the car, to show them I knew they were there, the idiots took off in a hurry instead of playing it cool. Seeing this as an opportunity to catch them before they could attack, I gave chase by riding along the power lines. Using my Ion Thrusters, I picked up speed as they swerved through traffic trying to outrun me. Looking out ahead of them, I saw that people were starting to cross the street unaware these idiots were going to run the red light.

“It sounds weird coming from someone who is physically twenty, but these idiots and their damn phones! They are dead to the fucking world when they have them out.”, I complained while trying not to laugh as I said it.

Deciding to switch things up, I teleported a few yards from them which scared the shit out of the driver. My sudden appearance caused him to whip the wheel to try and avoid me out of pure instinct. Rolling the car in the process, it skipped down the street several times as it exploded into a giant ball of fire.

The explosion was loud enough to snap the civilians out of their trance in time to see the flaming vehicle barreling towards them. Using my magnetism to stop the car dead in its tracks, I flung the car into a nearby ditch just before it exploded as the gas tank ruptured. Going up in a giant ball of flames, I jumped into the ditch and siphoned the smoke away from the vehicle quickly subduing the flames. Hearing the men screaming inside the vehicle for help, they immediately stopped when they saw me in the ditch with them.

“Gentlemen, you going to tell me what your boss has planned?”, I asked after confirming the area around us was now empty.

“We…we won’t tell you a damn thing!”, the passenger spat.

“I see…”, I replied using my smoke ability to reduce him to a skeleton in an instant.

Watching his comrade’s body collapse into dust, the driver shrieked in horror. Raising his hands in surrender, he told me he’d talk. Telling me they had been ordered to find a good time and place to kidnap Eri while I wasn’t around, I laughed at him.

“Your boss is seriously a moron…and you were a bigger moron for calling him when you saw me drop Eri off.”, I said as the smile on my face turned into a scowl, “As far as I am concerned, I have all but adopted Eri as my daughter. Anyone that would do her harm…signs their own death warrant.”

“Please wait, I will tell you where the base is and everything!”, he pleaded as the car started collapsing around him.

“Is that right?”, I remarked as I appeared in front of him and grabbed him by the face, “I don’t need you alive to tell me, I can take what I want from you.”

Since he was thinking about their base, I got the location from skimming his thoughts. Now that I had the location, I no longer had a use for him. Walking away as it continued collapsing on, he pleaded for me to spare him.

“A Hero isn’t supposed to kill a criminal!!”, he screamed in terror.

Turning back to him with a heartless gaze, I told him that I was the type of Hero that doesn’t spare men who torture innocent children. Compressing the vehicle like into a tight ball, the man exploded like a water balloon. Decompressing the vehicle back to the way it was, I called in the incident to have the police deal with the aftermath. Since there were no cameras with a view of the ditch and there were no witnesses to say otherwise, the men died in an unfortunate vehicle accident.
