—3rd Person POV—
Glancing over their shoulder’s to look back at the Pope, the students expected something painful to happen to them. Instead of that, everyone heard the sound of breaking glass as the barriers shattered to pieces. Watching a blue orb slam into the magical relic, the spell the Pope was preparing to cast fell apart. As a result, all the magic he gathered violently released all at once tearing his forearm to pieces. Releasing the relic immediately the Pope fell to the ground in shock.
“My arm!!”, he howled in pain, “My fucking arm!! Someone heal me quickly!!”
Rushing to his side, Healers began attempting to heal his gruesome injury before he bled out.
“What just happened?”, Motoyusa asked his mage as he regrouped with his party.
“I…I don’t know, I haven’t seen anything like that before.”, the mage replied with confusion.
“I didn’t study magic for four hundred years and get the title of Sage for nothing!”, Cole laughed from his position at the foot of the hill, “Disrupting magic of that caliber is child’s play for me, if I wanted to, I could have hijacked your spell and used it on your own people…but where is the fun in that.”
Since the students were now safely able to get away, the Forward Group fell back leaving the rest up to me. Changing into my Demon King appearance, I donned my jet-black armor and obsidian black mace as I approached them. Watching his sheep help him to his feet, I waited for the students to run underneath me before speaking.
“All of you have readily branded the Shield Hero a Demon King and the Nonhumans as a blight on your world.”, I proclaimed with a booming voice, “I frankly find the thought of Naofumi being a Demon King laughable. None of you truly understand what a Demon King is or how terrible we can be when you harm one of our own. Today I will paint the fields red with your blood and spread your corpses around for the vultures to eat. The world will remember this day as the day Demon King Avos and the Demoton Army erased your pathic existence from this world!”
Opening several portals behind me to the Special Zone, I commanded my forces to advance at once. Hoping that Drakken was able to find a decent number of soldiers, my goal was to terrify the crap out of the cultists before punishing them for their crimes. Waiting several moments to hear the sound of marching feet, I started to sweat a little when I didn’t hear anything.
‘Please tell me people showed up…this will be embarrassing if no one walks through.’, I thought not wanting to embarrass myself, ‘There has to be a few people right? I didn’t build the nation of Demoton as a Demon King by myself!’
Up on the conference building’s ramparts, the delegates present at the International Conference watched closely to see what would happen. Having never heard of Demoton before, most of them wondered what sort of place it was. After waiting a few moments for something to happen, one of the delegates started laughing at me.
“Is something supposed to-”, the Faubrey King started to say before the sounds of drums began to beat.
Feeling the walls and ground around them reverberate with the sound, everyone in or on the building held on to whatever they could find to support themselves. When the violent shaking lessened, everyone inside hurriedly vacated the structure and joined the delegates on the rampart. Looking down at what was happening, everyone was left speechless by what they saw.
Watching four huge, heavily armored trolls march out of the portals, the trolls were beating loudly on the drum that each carried. Stepping to the side of the portals, once they were through, the army came marching through waving the banners of Demoton proudly. Seeing people of every race among the soldiers, the delegates were surprised to see so many races fighting alongside one another.
Watching a large group of soldiers race around the main army, the King of Melromarc noticed that Goblins and Orcs were riding on the backs of massive wolflike creatures. Quickly cutting off all escape routes for the cultists, the riders began corralling the cultists into a tiger grouping. Hemmed in all around, the cultist began closing rank and pointing their spears at anything that moved close to them. Seeing panic painted on their faces, I was pleased to see that my plan was working.
‘Phew…I am happy people showed up.’, I thought as I stealthily began broadcasting what was happening worldwide, ‘For a second there I thought I was going to need to raise an army of the Undead.’
Thinking that my forces were nearly done entering the field, I was surprised to hear several horn blasts from behind me. Recognizing the tones and pitch of each one, my head started to hurt as my inlaws had come to join this slaughter. Marching their troops in alongside mine, the inlaws quickly came to join me at the front of my troops.
“I hear there is a battle to be had here!!”, Sir Bolton shouted as he rode up on a Giant Pronghorn, “The Fury of Dwarves will burn brightly today!! We are here to stand as one with our fellow Nonhumans!!”
“We Elves will not stand idly by while you torture and hunt down our kin! Our Elven Steel will see to it that you rejoin your ancestors in Hell this day!”, Celestial’s father proclaimed as his soldiers cheered loudly in agreement.
“We are here to kick some ass, and wring your fucking necks out!”, Luna’s mother howled as her warriors let out their loud battle cries, “Warrior Rabbits protect our own to the last!”
Turning to Drakken, as he approached, I asked him why my inlaws were here and how many troops he managed to secure. Telling me that my inlaws invited themselves, he said that most of them were bored and wanted something to do. As for the troop numbers, Drakken said he hadn’t expected such a turnout either.
“We are still bringing people through, and we are already five hundred thousand strong.”, I said quickly looking over our forces, “The goal was to frighten people, not invade this world!”

“My apologies…as I already said I didn’t think we’d have such a turnout.”, he apologized, “Almost our entire army showed up, and many more citizens wanted to come as well. If I may, our people want to bring the peace that we have now to these lands. When they heard that this world was similar to ours in the past, many people wanted to support you in fixing it.”
“I see…”, I replied with a grateful smile as I turned back to the cultists.
Watching our numbers continue to grow with every passing moment, the enemy soldiers started to lose faith in themselves. Realizing that they were going die, several of them tossed their weapons to the ground and raised their hands in surrender. Stepping forward to surrender to me, with snot running down their faces, the Fenir Riders were quick to pounce on them. Seizing the soldiers with their powerful jaws, the Fenirs brutally tore the men apart as blood sprayed all over the cultist.
Looking back at the group with their bloodied faces, the Fenir looked at the rest of them like prey. Shrieking out in fear, one of the priests quickly grabbed the relic weapon off the ground thinking it would save him. Feeling their gazes single him out, the priest hurriedly tried to get rid of it.
“Sir, please do something!”, the Priest said shoving it into the Pope’s hands, “We are outnumbered and are going to die here!! I didn’t sign up for this, you told me all I had to do was lie to the poor and I’d be rewarded handsomely!”
“Silence you fool, we have the power of our God on our side!”, the Pope said pointing the relic at me, “If we die here today, we will at least take you with us! Fellow Believers, lend me your power so that we may prevail over this Demon!”
“Take your best shot!”, I challenged opening my arms wide for his attack.
Seeing the arrogant smile on my face, the Pope became enraged that I wasn’t taking him seriously. Chanting the spell he attempted to use on the students, I let him complete it this time as I knew what element it was.
“Divine Judgment!”, he roared generating a massive stream of lightning from the sky, “Take this Heathen!”
Bringing it down right on me, I could only laugh at his foolish mistake as I began absorbing the lightning. Remembering that I excelled at the use of Lightning Magic, he immediately tried to cancel his spell but realized that it wouldn’t stop. Trying unsuccessfully several more times, he looked at me in horror.
“Why won’t it stop!”, the Pope screamed as his followers began dropping to their knees along with him, “What did you do!?”
“I already told you…I can hijack your magic spells.”, I reminded him with a devilish smile, “Now then how about I use the spell you intended for the children, Life Conversion!”
Suddenly feeling his life force start being ripped out of them, the cultists began screaming out in pain as they fell to the ground. Watching their bodies start to wither away into nothing, all of them began begging me to stop. Staring at them like the garbage they were, I told them they were in no position to ask for mercy.
“You dragged innocent people from their homes, tortured them, beat them, and tore their families apart!”, I roared in anger, “The pain you feel now is nothing compared to the torment of losing your children! Up until now none of you have truly understood pain, well now you will!”
—3rd Person POV—
“Mages!!”, Drakken ordered the Mage Corps, “Ready your Bombardment Spells!!!”
Starting their chanting, the Fenir Riders quickly retreated out of the immediate area to avoid being hit. Knowing that they were sitting ducks as it currently stood, the Pope used all the strength he could muster to smash the relic into the ground. Severing the spell as soon as the relic broke, he was about to order his people to retreat but it was too late.
“FIRE!!”, Cole commanded as the Mages finished their casting.
Watching thousands of spells coming flying at them, the Pope grabbed one of the soldiers and used them as a human shield. Slamming right into the front of the group the Bombardment Spells, which were meant for Castle Seiges, blew the soldiers into red mist instantly. Those behind them were sent flying in every direction as the carpet bombing began.
“Charge the enemy on my command!”, Cole ordered putting on his helmet, “I want the civilians and leadership brought to me, the rest are to be killed without mercy!”
Waiting for the last spell to collide with the group, Cole ordered his army to charge the now completely disoriented cultists. Rushing forwards at the head of his forces, Cole whipped his mace around and sent several soldiers flying into the field with crushed skulls. While the bloodbath continued down below, the families he saved began to weep loudly.
Years of pent-up frustration and anger came out as they watched the people that caused it suffer for their crimes. Burning the sight into their minds, all of them wanted to remember this day…the day that their prayers were finally answered.
