“Why is this test so hard when most of us have never trained before!” Nellie complains.

“Yeah, this is suspicious” Lezzun comments.

“Only like 10 people will get in if they keep this up” She continues.

"Is the point to follow him? Now that I think about it, the requirements to get into the school said nothing about being able to use aura or skilled in combat." I think out loud with a confused expression.

"Then what's the point?" Nellie asks curiously.

"Determination," Lezzun says with an enlightened expression.

"?" both me and Nellie let out a confused sound.

"Determination, that's the test," Lezzun says with a confident smile.

"To get into the school all we need to do is to get as far as we can and not give up" She continues confidently.

I ponder for a bit and start thinking that it is very likely correct, the point of the school is to get resources to those who will use them and train the best knights. I want to think for longer but we come across the end of the hall, I get excited and pick up my speed with Nellie wrapping her arms tighter around my neck to hold on. In front of us is a door, a 20-foot tall Iron door with an engraving of a lion roaring on it with the handles being inside of the lion's mouth. 'Is this the last part? Just get through the door?' I ponder.

"Let's get this open" Lezzun says with confidence.

I lightly set Nellie down and walk up to the door and grab a handle with Lezzun grabbing the other, we pull on the door but it does not open.

"Figures that it wouldn't be that simple" Lezzun says with a scowl.

I see her trying to pull it open again but this time covered in a flaming red aura, it's quite a bit bigger than mine and it seems far more violent than my passive and calm aura. She grabs onto the handles with both hands and pulls, the door slightly opens but soon after it is shut again. Lezzun takes a couple of steps back while messaging her wrists with her scowl deepening.

"Try helping me," She says in an annoyed way.

I walk up to the door and help her with the door, we try and pull at the same time but nothing, we then try pulling on the same handle, and still, we can't get it passed the place where Lezzun goes first.

"Can you help us?" I ask while looking at Nellie who was messaging her feet on the floor. She looks up at us and with a sigh, she says "What if you tried to use a sword to prop the door open and then try pulling from there?" she suggests clearly not wanting to get up 'Is her foot ok?' I think concerned because I know that overusing aura can harm the body but still, the show must go on.

"That's not a terrible idea," Lezzun says in contemplation.

"Nell, can you come over here and put my sword in the way so that it keeps the door open" she says with a sigh, she seems tired.

"Will the blade be ok?" I ask with concern because this door is heavy and could chip her blade.

"The enchantment will support it" she explains with zero concern.

"Ok then, on 3," I say once Nellie gets to the door.

"1 2 3!" I say and pull with all my might and aura.

We pull the door open by an inch, then another and finally Nellie slides the sword into the slit that was open. We then try pulling more but as expected it closes. Thankfully the blade stops it and I then look through the crack in the door to see the next room, its a warm-looking room with a warm red carpet and a fireplace, I see the knight from before looking at me from where he is laying on a couch and he seems surprised.

"Well then, that's not something I expected to happen," he says as he stands up.

"You know, you weren't actually supposed to get this far right?" he explains with a chuckle, he then walks over to the door and with a single arm and doesn't seem to strain at all, opens the door fully.

"Come on in kids," he says as he turns and waves us in.

"What do you mean we weren't supposed to get here? You said to follow." I ask as my mind wanders back to Lezzun saying the thing about determination being the test.

"Miss Flameblood hit it right on the head, it was all about trying your hardest,  we will only spend time training people who really want to train," the knight says with a big smile.

"But well done on getting to the end, well done indeed" his smile grows even bigger at that.

"You should just stay here until the test is over" he finishes while sitting back on the couch.

POV-Twee

Year 5 Month 2

I am currently watching Lily while she is laying in an open grass patch I left in the Mana Zone, she has been really happy recently and I have it on good authority that its from the constant contact with nature, on a completely unrelated note I found out that Lily's parents are druids, not that that matters or anything. Lily is also pregnant again which is cool, she has stopped going to the tailor shop and has been spending all of her time in the mana zone while watching Melia practice magic, Melia has taken to only practicing magic in the mana zone because its apparently really good for it (That's good I think?).

If I can do this with the spirits then can I make a living thing, like could I make a dryad or a tree ent? I have decided that this will be my next project! I start immediately forming a vessel for the experiment, I form a bundle of roots in the form of a vaguely female humanoid plant monster. I make it in a big patch of tall grass so nobody sees it before its done.

It took a while to make a body with the right joints but once the body is done I ask the spirits to infest the body, they thankfully do and the body starts glowing with a light green glow, its a soft and comforting color, completely the opposite of the body I made it.

I see the body move, one of the arms props the body up and it stands up. 'Oh, sh*t' I think because I did not think it would work 'Why does everything always go well?' I think but I stop thinking about it and stare at the newly formed thing or whatever I made. It stands at 6 feet tall with a strong build and lots of root spikes because it's supposed to be threatening, the eyes I put on it look around it in curiosity. It looks at where Melia is and starts walking in her direction, it was unsteady at first but got accustomed to walking quickly. It walked up to Melia and stopped a couple of feet from where she is, it took Melia a handful of minutes to notice the plant thing standing to the side of her. Melia looks shocked at first but then starts looking curious at the thing, Melia walks up to it and just stares, it stares back at her.

'What is going on?' I think in confusion.

After a minute or so Melia grows a huge smile on her face as if she won the world in a raffle.

"I am going to name you rose!" Melia says in excitement while looking at the plant monster in front of her.

The thing stares for a moment longer before nodding its head.

Ding!

Your creation 'Rose' has formed a familiar bond with Melia.

'System, what's a familiar?'

Ding!

A Familiar is a rare spirit creature who can make a bond with the mortal races, this gives the familiar immortality so long as the bonded person is alive and gives the mortal three ability's depending on what type of spirit they are bonded to.

A mortal can only have one contract, which can never be broken.

'Wow, that's incredible' I think.

'What abilities do my creations have?'

Ding!

Name: Rose

Race: Nature Spirit Construct

Levels: Protector Spirit 10

Skills:  [Ebony Skin] [Form Root Weapon] [Healing Fruit]

'not what I asked but that works too' I think.

'Why would Rose sign a contract with Melia?'

Ding!

Because Melia's race is 'Spirit Touched' spirit creatures are naturally inclined to her.

'Being helpful today are we?' I chuckle.

'Melia has a different race? Is this to do with Lily being around me a lot?' I think for a bit before coming to a scary realization 'If that's the case then won't the kid yet to be born have an even weirder race? That's not good.

'On to a new note, now that I...' I was thinking but got interrupted.

Ding!

You have made a living being from pure spirit material, this gives you [Empty Vessel].

'Oh, that's co...'

Ding!

The world has given you a curse, [Body Bound].

'Wait wha...'

Ding!

---World Announcement---

The spirit tree of the Great Plains has become the first being on Zelion to gain a World Curse and in doing so gains the title of [True Cursed].

'STOP, LET ME THINK' I shout in my head and feel a calming wind.

'Ok one thing at a time, what does [Empty Vessel] do?'

Ding!

[Empty Vessel]: You can make a vessel from plant life to hold energy.

'I hate that ding sound now' I grumble.

'What is this curse thing about?'

Ding!

World Curse: A thing that has never been given on this world, that is given to people who the world thinks might do things they are not supposed to do.

'That gives more questions than it answered' I think.

'Can the dings go away please?'

Yes.

'That's better, what does my curse and new title do?' I wonder.

[Body Bound]: Makes the user unable to leave their body until they die.

'Ok so this is so that I don't put my own soul into a vessel, I guess' I think.

'What does the title do?'

[True Cursed: A title that makes the user Unable to be cursed or have curses taken away.

'Is that good or bad? I can't tell' I wonder.
