Looking down, he saw the small, furry little thing, and he stared at its black, round eyes, showing that he was in doubt.
The little ginger ball looked up at him, then, with another thud, collapsed beside him once more, pretending to be dead.
Gu Yanshu: “…”

Why did it look like he was being set-up?
He knelt down, then placed the tiny kitten in his hand and began tickling its chin. The kitten, which was still pretending to be dead, immediately began shaking its tail furiously, rubbing it against Gu Yanshu’s good looking fingers.
It shook its head around, mewing and purring softly, and Gu Yanshu was so amused by it that he couldn’t resist smiling.
“About three months’ old, and it had just been vaccinated. We found its mother in the county, and after we brought it home, it gave birth to a whole bunch of kittens. We don’t have the energy to take care of all of them, so we gave the entire litter away, except for this one, because it was a little weaker than the others.”
Gu Yanshu was still carrying it, and he rubbed it along its back, making the little kitten so comfortable that it felt like it was in heaven.
He also took the chance to study the little kitten. It had a round face, with round eyes and a round mouth, while its legs were short. He guessed that its mother was probably an abandoned orange British Shorthair.
Seeing the mother cat in person confirmed his suspicions. However, the couple clearly bred it as a regular cat.
As for Shen Jue, he was dying of envy looking at the kitten from the side. He reached his finger out, wanting to poke it, but the kitten’s claws swept over, not allowing him to touch it.
Yet, Shen Jue insisted on continuing.
And the kitten refused.
Shen Jue gripped its body with his hand, persistent in his endeavour.
The kitten began mewing profusely, and it began nibbling with its little mouth, with its yet to be completely grown set of teeth. It just simply refused to be touched.

Seeing that the man and the kitten were about to fight, Gu Yanshu patted Shen Jue’s hand, “What are you doing? It’s just a kitten, why do you want to bully it?”
Shen Jue was unconvinced. “Why can you rub it, but I can’t?”
Auntie Sun, who was standing beside them, smiled and said, “Cats are smart, and are able to judge people on their own. This little one is exceptionally smart, and has a strong personality.”
There was also a hint of disdain in Gu Yanshu’s voice as he added, “Don’t you have any self-awareness? You should know why humans and cats alike all hate you.”
“…?”
The person who was hugging me and refusing to let me go last night is saying today that humans and cats all hate me?
Shen Jue felt truly regretful that they were filming right now, or he would have carried Gu Yanshu off and dealt with him immediately.
The man was truly growing a bad temper, who knew where he had learned it from.
Since Shen Jue was not getting anywhere with Gu Yanshu, he turned around and began talking to the couple about helping them.
Gu Yanshu scratched the kitten a few more times, then put it down and began listening in on the conversation.
They found out that the village originally produced cabbages and radishes, but later on, in order to develop the economy, a small factory was started in the village, where they began to produce kimchi, spicy radishes, and other products, and sold them to the city.
