Chapter 72: Chapter 0073: Acquiring Processor Farm

After moving into Kazuya’s apartment complex, Mami had to face quite a few problems. 

The first one being she had to live alone. She had to learn to cook for herself and it was a difficult learning curve. She’d always lived with her parents and hadn’t ever had the chance to learn how to cook for herself. She had to ask Kazuya for help multiple times.

He was happy to help her out, especially since he used it as an excuse to play with her. Or as he liked to call it, ‘train her’. Not that he needed an excuse to play with his pet, though.

He’d also found the time to complete that quest which gave him quite a few level-ups in terms of business and psychology.

Although it was called knowledge, it was different from the specialized knowledge that he got from the system. It was more of a level booster in terms of knowledge instead.

Psychology was slightly lower than business since he’d already been studying business and psychology was a completely new skill.

Kazuya’s days went by without anything too major after this. 

Chizuru was everything he could ask for and more. Although she wasn’t perfect and there were a few bumps along the road, they made it work out.

She’d started starring in a few better plays, and was making a slight name in the community for herself. Her acting career had very steady growth.

She was still paying attention to college and not neglecting it since it was an important backup plan for her life if her acting thing fails.

Mami on the other hand was working as his secretary in the office after college. She was sort of his proxy since he had her communicate with Kaguya when he wasn’t there.

He’d gotten her pretty used to being his submissive pet. For now, there hadn’t been any retaliation against Kazuya or his company, since Mami had hidden her affiliations with him, at least for now. Though it was only going to be a matter of time before things start getting difficult.

By the time May rolled around, Nexus Tech was completely in the green with a hefty amount of profit being made from their subscriptions.

They currently had three products, The assistant, the novel writer, and the art creator. All of these products were extremely popular, especially the assistant as it was something that a huge number of people considered to be extremely useful.

Kaguya had finally hired quite a bit of staff to manage the day-to-day operations of the company. There was an entire team of very competent developers ranging from people specializing in different aspects of Computer Science like cybersecurity, backend development, dev-ops, etc. Most of them were engaged in improving and fixing the minor errors in the current products that had been released by the company.

Although they didn’t have access to the core algorithms, it wasn’t an issue since the one thing that was perfect was the Artificial Intelligence algorithm that ran each of the applications.

Although Kazuya didn’t use top-notch algorithms from his knowledge, that didn’t mean that the ones that he used were unrefined.

At the start of May, Kazuya and Kaguya had a meeting with the CEO and major shareholders of BitMine Ltd. It was a minor Japan-based Bitcoin mining company that had a mining farm in Greenland. It was a relatively new business that was a few years old. It started when Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general became a big deal. 

Sadly, the current market for crypto is very unstable and has caused many losses to the company, to the point that they have been forced to either declare bankruptcy or sell off the company. Kaguya didn’t have much trouble setting up the acquisition meeting since they were plenty desperate themselves, all of them losing more and more money as the days pass.

The maintenance costs of the mining farms were barely mitigated by the profits made from mining.

On Friday, the third of May, Kazuya was all dressed up in a formal suit, something that he usually never does. Even at work he usually wears casual clothes since he’s the boss and doesn’t have to care. 

From the start, he’s encouraged that kind of culture in the company. Although formal clothing was not discouraged, wearing a t-shirt with a blazer and trousers was preferred.

He was in his office with Mami fixing his tie for him with a light blush on her face.

“Good luck, Kazu-kun…”

“Thanks, pet.” He whispered in her ear before kissing her ear lightly and pulling back.

She blushed even more and looked down in embarrassment. It probably had to do with how she was turned on by him calling her his pet.

Kazuya left her there and walked out of his office to meet with Kaguya who was waiting for him downstairs in the cab.

She had bought a black luxury business SUV with the recently acquired company funds along with a driver on their payroll for the formal meetings with different people and clients.

Walking out of the building, Kazuya saw Hayasaka talking to Kaguya about something. She seemed to have noticed him and said something to Kaguya and handed her a small stack of papers before opening the door for her to sit in the car.

When Kazuya walked to the car she said to him, “Good luck, Kazuya-san.”

She opened the door for him with a lovely smile.

“Thank you, Hayasaka.” Kazuya nodded to her and sat in the car.

“Are you ready?” Kaguya asked as he sat in the car.

“Yeah, don’t worry.”

“Good, although this is just a formality, we need to put up our best game.” She was serious.

“I know.”

They’d already gotten the majority of the investors on board. So this meeting was more of a formality for the takeover. 

‘Then again… the CEO isn’t aware of that…’ Kazuya knew that the CEO will be in for a ride today.

The executives of the company were having a board meeting when the duo walked into the conference room.

Six people were sitting in the room, discussing the agendas. 

Seeing the new faces walking into the room, most of the members had looks of recognition, except for two people who had been kept out of the loop, The CEO, Takeuchi Nori, and his main backer in the council, Arakaki Eri.

“I’m sorry, who are you? I don’t think that you should be here. Who let you in?” Nori, the CEO was confused by the two unfamiliar people in his office.

“Kazuya Kinoshita, the Chairman of Nexus Corp.”

“Kaguya Shinomia, the CEO of Nexus Corp.”

They might’ve been here to raid the company, but they were still polite and introduced themselves.

“Nexus… You guys are from that up-and-coming startup. The one that published those Artificial Intelligence applications. Why are you here?” It took the CEO a few seconds to recall who these two were. He didn’t call security since he recognized them.

Nexus might have been very new, but they shot up like a rocket with their applications. Each one was very good and unique, especially the AI assistant. They already had tens of millions of users that were regularly using their applications. Even after the abysmally high taxation rates, the company was rolling in profits. 

Especially since they were going to be investing heavily in some projects. Kazuya was going to make sure that they showed almost zero profit for the end of the fiscal year. He had no plans to lose half of the company’s profits to taxes.

‘I hope Kaguya finds a good financial manager soon…’ (A/N: Guess who?)

“Gentlemen. I’m here to tell you that this company is now going to be under new management.”

“Okay, that’s it.” The CEO wasn’t planning to endure this farce any longer than he needed to. Nexus might be a big deal, but he didn’t really put it in his eyes since it was no more than an infant for now.

“Security. Come in. There are two unwelcome people in the conference room. Drag them away.”

Kazuya smirked.

‘I’ve always wanted to do this.’ There was a child-like excitement bubbling inside him.

“No one’s coming Takeuchi. How do you think we got here? Nexus currently owns 75% of the shares of BitMine Ltd. Us being here was just to tell you that you’re fired.”

“W-What? You-You all betrayed me?”

“Honestly son, you’re not exactly an exemplary CEO. Case in point, you called security on the people who seemed to be able to enter the company without any issue. You aren’t exactly someone who thinks things through before acting. The company’s profits are abysmal and we’re about to go under. If you didn’t see this coming, you’re an even bigger fool than I thought.” One of the people who sold out to Kaguya’s persuasions ripped the CEO a new one.

“Why would you let them take over the company? They don’t even work in cryptocurrency. Nexus is an AI development company.”

“This company has nothing to do with us. We don’t plan to use your staff or your business model. We just needed the hardware, so we bought you out.” Kaguya was the one who introduced him to the reality of the situation.

“Bu-But…”

So, on the 3rd of May, BitMine Ltd. was no more and was integrated with Nexus Tech. Kaguya didn’t keep any of their staff other than the people maintaining the mining farms since Nexus didn’t need any more staff and the original people there were mediocre at best and that wasn’t something that she was going to accept.

Although the layoffs didn’t show her in the best light, Kazuya fully supported her since he was all for quality over quantity and he wasn’t going to pity some people and end up causing problems for his business.

He celebrated his new acquisition of the company with a lot of rough sex with his pet and even more sex with his lovely girlfriend later.
